Much a-do about Skippy.

Wednesday, April 22nd, 2009

306k and a 3 week injury that could be longer. Both the dollars to play with and the injury itself are difficult to deal with.

But, that’s what we’re here for.

So, what to do?

It depends a lot on your cash situation. Those who traded Raines down in the past, might just have found their silver lining… ;)

I’ll deal with Skippy the forward first.

If you can afford it…

Stuff it, this one deserves it’s own post.

Bad news for the Pendle holders… Good news for us Beamers? C’mon you good thing!

COLLINGWOOD forward Anthony Rocca is still a chance to play against Melbourne at the MCG on Saturday, but midfielder Scott Pendlebury appears in some doubt.
Speaking ahead of his team’s clash with the Demons, coach Mick Malthouse said Rocca could yet come into calculations for a late call-up despite his absence from the named emergencies.
“These are the idiosyncrasies of selection on a Thursday night,” Malthouse said.
“We don’t train [for the final time] until today.
“He’s trained very well but I’m not prepared to comment too much on our final 22 other than to say what’s been in the paper has been selected at this stage.”
Even if he doesn’t line up for the Pies, Malthouse said Rocca would definitely play at some level this weekend.
Pendlebury trained away from the main group on Wednesday and was missing from Friday’s session.
“Scott wasn’t out there. He’s a bit sore,” Malthouse said.
“People are sore. You’ve got to make sure they’re 100 per cent ready to go. We’ll weigh that up.”

Different year, same shit.

Those backline woes just never die.

Micheal Hurley is gone for a month. That makes Kyle Cheney look like the only downgrade option for most teams for Andrew Raines.

It’s sad for the youngster and those that picked him up. But for those that don’t see could see Hill, Petrenko, Cheney, Suban peaking when he comes back for his 3rd match.

Rich is the new Black?

Wednesday, February 4th, 2009

Perhaps just the new Palmer? Or maybe I’m just overstating…

Either way, I woke up to the news this morning that Simon Black has broken his hand.

Surely this will have to bring Daniel Rich to the mind of every fantasy coach out there.

While technically Black will only be out for 6 weeks, it will have to hamper his preseason.

Either way- It’s something to keep an eye on.

Headhighs hurt Coaches.

Monday, June 2nd, 2008

Rob Murphy (ave: 103), Brett Burton (ave: 96) and Beau Waters (ave: 56) are all set to miss a couple of weeks for head high contact. That is going to hurt alot of teams cause at this stage of the year we are all looking for downgrades and upgrades. Plus, those in the National Ranking’s race don’t want Tippett in their starting side.

Also, reports ain’t the only things hurting our sides. Injuries were everywhere on the weekend – Robbo is out for the season which is sad news for all footy fans. Brock McLean, Kane Johnson and Jonathon Brown are also big names that might miss weeks with little injuries.

UPDATE: Kane Johnson will miss 3-4 weeks, although the Hearld Sun says Steve – I think they mean Kane. Haha.

The trio head hitters have the bans and Burton and Waters get offered 2 weeks, while Murphy gets 1. This buggers up my trades, hopefully Chapster returns.

Jarrad to Waite on sidelines.

Monday, May 26th, 2008

Jarrad Waite is facing a one game ban for striking Fremantle’s Chris Manye. While, Sam Mitchell will play for your fantasy team this week, but his Brownlow hopes might be gone – he has been offered 93.75. Nath Jones and Pavlich copped a fine. Not a heap happened on the injury front on the weekend. Symes and Ottens could be back this week.

Injuries: Round 8.

Sunday, May 18th, 2008

This has been one of the best weekend’s injury wise all year but the ones the few that there were are backmen. Which is no real surprise this season. Brent Guerra done his hammy in Q2 and would guess he will miss 3 weeks. Alan Obst, the debutant for the Roo’s is was out for the game with a Hip injury. Not sure how bad it is, but I wouldn’t worry to much cause he would have just been dropped next week. Cause Dean Laidley is a poof only play rookies for a couple of games to tease us. Haha. Tadgh Kennely is the big one from the weekend with a dislocated knee, and the last time he had this injury he missed 9 weeks – it was the other knee that time. But he looked in a huge amount of pain and actually vomitted when he came off the ground. Sam Mitchell got streched off, but came back on and will be fine. Jared Brennan has a quad injury but not to sure how bad it is cause he did come back on when it looked like he was gone for the game. Stay tuned for more information as it comes to hand.
