It would be hard to say “better”. Both Martin and Barlow will be excellent choices. Two of the top 3 mids for mine!

Hitchcock wasn’t even listed in the players that were close to it either. Considering Williams said he’ll be a chance for round one a few weeks ago they’ve obviously heard nothing about him. The Herald Sun doesn’t know too much about the non Victorian teams.

@JJ, I seem to recall Waters not being mentioned in the WCE write-up also, like no where, as if he wasn’t even on their list. Don’t think we should take those as gospel?

No Hitchcock means fwd rookie choices are EXTREMELY thin….

I can’t think of many that will get a game most weeks in the first 8 rounds that I like….

Yeah same with me stu, ive had him in and out about 10 times now, just thoughts are whether to downgrade to a bartel, mitchell, etc and free up cash, or take the punt on him as he is so capable of massive scores…

I guess there are a few other bench forward options coming through, Roberts from Richmond could be one that fills in and Peterson from the Hawks might be another one, plus they’re both rookie priced from memory.

I noted hitchcock wasn’t mentioned at all in the HUN’s Port team wrap-up today (ie wasn’t in the 22 and wasn’t listed as pushing for selection either). Not sure he’s got a place in the side unfortunately.

If Rodan comes back this early, Port might not upgrade Hitchcock. Then again, with Wade Thompson injured as well, maybe they still might upgrade him as the one rookie they can bring up.

Nason is definitely ahead of Webberley at this stage. Where this leaves him in terms of place in the first 22 isn’t clear as yet – but he is being picked in many longtime supporters’ first 22s to play Carlton.
