Round 1 Talk
Howdy all.
It’s time for some Round 1 Talk.
Already I’m 0/1 for my Tips.
Happy happy to have the footy season back! How are your teams going? SC preferred, but if you want some DT action I’m sure there’s enough fans here to chat.
Poor Cousins. If any result and the injury sustained would drive a man back to the addiction it would be this. Hope it all works out for him.
Very happy with Juddy, will only keep getting better. Houlihan uses the ball so well and Mad Mitch, not sure if he can repeat that every week but looking forward to the price rise! Deledio won’t play too many worse than that either.
Was anyone else surprised Broughton didn’t even make the extended bench for Freo?
I am 1/1 for my tips.. Although devastating for Cousins. Admittely makes me glad that I didn’t pick Foley cos now he will be heavily tagged with Cousins gone.
Needless to say i am extremely frustrated/disappointed and pleased with some of the players
Raines! Whyyyyyyyyy? Looks like I will have to bite my tongue and make a trade (though everyone probably have him, and the funny thing is everyone is most likely to get same replacement)
Delidio, gah blimely i expected minimum 90 from this guy! He better score next week well!
Fevola, had injured foot which is reasonable excuse but man 75 would have been helpful.
ROBINSON! Hope he can keep up, talks of being this year’s Palmer is already buzzing
Judd; Good boy, delivered as expected.
Jacobs, I find it odd this guy only did the hits out, no handball, no kicks, no gathering. Nonetheless disappointing SC scores but hey he was my 4th ruckman with absolutely nothing to lose (as I have two premium ruckmen). Hopefully he can pick up a few more points.
I am guessing a lot of players have their teams burnt tonight which may let me breath a bit.
Raines; Well, I did say earlier I would never touch him, but good pre-season form and being so cheap I couldn’t help it. I will be trading him out.
Judd; Captain Juddy off to a beautiful start and was moving beautiful. Plenty more of that to come.
Deledio; Just a bad game from a star, no regrets yet.
Houli Douli; Timmy mentioned that he is a great ball-user, gets abit of it too.
Missing the lock-out meant I still have Hogan instead of maybe Ziebell or Robinson. Also means I have Otten instead of Ziebell, Beams or Thompson. But other than that – I’m happy.
Richmond medical staff are completely incompetent…never again am i gettin a Tiger comin off injury (this is about Raines, not Cuz).
Typical lovely Judd. He’s gonna have a massive year. 23 touches = 136 points, and i dint think he played that well!
Lids had a shocker, but Terry Wallace is a complete MORON! Lids should be in the middle the majority of the time. He has a similar game (not as good tho) as Judd. That ability to run the lines and clean hands at clearances, get him in the guts Terry!
Few early turnovers by Gibbs probs cost him a 110-120 score, but he looks good for a tilt at a 100+ average this year.
Already there have been a lot of SC highs and lows as I’m sure a lot of us have at least one or more Richmond and Carlton players. Yes, I’m upset with what happened to Cousins, but I don’t blame myself for picking him. No one would have predicted he’ll do a hammy round 1. I am, however upset at myself for choosing Fevola. Every year I pick him, and every year he burns me. I must be a gluten for punishment, but being a Carlton supporter, I can’t help but not pick him.
Was happy with captain planets season opener.Phase one of the BHAJ has gone to plan for those who chose it.Hoops was great it would have been even better minus the clangers. Finally raines who is hurt as are most supercoach teams by his injury.I thought he played o.k up unil the injury hopefully it is only for a couple of weeks at most and i can hold onto him on the bench.
Am 1/1 for my footy tipping and 289/3 in supercoach so has been a good start.
DIPPA
Don’t feel too bad, I have Fevola too and he will be a great SC player this year.
He was clearly inhibited by his injury last night and will only get better.
no one would have predicted Cuz to do a hammy? A 30+ year old with a history of hamstrings, comin back after a (near) 2 year break, and last time he played he tore the hammy off his bone….perfect recipe for a hammy if u ask me…
chris, he didn’t tear it “off his bone”. So you’re telling me you predicted he would tear his hammy in round 1 did you? Sure, there was a chance he would do his hammy again at SOME stage during the season, but I didn’t think it would be in round 1, and obviously the Richmond doctors didn’t think so either or they would not have put him out there.
Walsey, how come the SC scores from the “Gameday” Live section on this site are wrong? Is it because the scoring formula was changed this year?
i know u wont believe me, but yeah i did….
Sorry DIPPA but i actually predicted it as well lol had a bet with a class mate so im now $5 dollars richer lol … On another note just clearing something up… With Raines’s 50 odd will that effect his price after 3 weeks too much? im thinkin of hanging onto him until round 3 when the price changes occur so i can snavel some1 up who would usually be much more expensive if their prices have dropped as i have 40k in the kitty.
A good start to my first Supercoch game of my first Supercoach season… Judd, Robinson and Jacobs, 290ish points to get the ball rolling. Tonight is the big one though. Buddy, Roughy, Hodge, Bartel, Ablett, Selwood and Enright up tonight!
raines’ price won’t change at all. as i remember player prices will only change if they have played 3 rounds in a season, not if it is passed round 3. Bloody lockout stuffed me up. grr. My forward line emergencies are all out.. gumby and grant. worse, i forgot to put in a 3rd emergency in my midfield.
Great start so far, Captain Gazza lived up to every cent of his $700k salary. Ottens my 2nd ruck scored 175, Buddy, Chappy, Bartel and Juddy all did their bit. Roughy had a quiet one but still scored 77 so hopefully that is a sign of things to come. I had Robinson on my bench as an emergency but with Anthony now ruled out, his score will count as well. Only downside is Raines – I might sit tight as far as trading him and monitor how Petrenko goes today.
Any news on whether Goddard is definitely playing today?
I’m absolutely spewing I missed out on Brad Ottens’ 174 only cause I had him for 99.94% of the pre-season.
But unfortunately I was out on the beers and missed my beloved cats so I won’t comment on the game.
Although, those – like me – who didn’t get on Jesus. Don’t stress yet. If he does that for the next 3-4 rounds. Well then you should start having regrets. And remember Judd had a terrible game and still scored 136. Their average will soon become much the same.
It appears the quickest way to get SC scores is – surprise surprise – at the Herald Sun website. Hope this can be resolved soon and we can get things back in action. Walesy shall return and fix all!!!
On SC news everyone would have been pleased with Rich, those who chose Goddard over Hodge smug and satisfied, and yeah everyone is bummed like I am about Raines and Anthony (and don’t get me started on Laidley).
That said, it will be cool heads that see potential (Riewoldt’s magnificent sub50, J Brown sub 80).
I think the champion teams for the year will be over 2000 for the week. Let’s hope we see more Ottens scores from other members of my team. Most averaging 85 or so but as always there are hits and misses.
Hoping desperately to sneak over 2000 otherwise face it, its season as good as over.
As for Raines and Anthony, I’m sure Bray will have some comments during the week as to advice.
Mine would be don’t trade for a while if you have subs in the game. Trades are priceless and copping a zero now is more acceptable than one in the finals.
My initial thoughts are also if you trade Raines, Houlihan is an option for those with coin (but do NOT cash cow now).
Anthony for Robinson rd3 is likely to be a trade made. Hopefully by then we will know the extent of the stress fracture. If its “only” 6 wks and a sub is in then it may just be ok to keep him.
Trades are vital – don’t over do them at the first sign of trouble.
Until next time…
1889 so far with Chad, Gilbee, Higgins, Krakouer and Skipworth to come today.
Yeah, Raines and Anthony hurts alot. Espically so early. Those with both will definitely have to think about wasting an early trade, but either one or the other the best bet is to hold tight.
The worse thing about Anthony is teams without him are laughing cause he will come back just when they start looking for downgrades. Frustrating.
Thank you, McIntosh.
These are great.
Wonderfull…
