Krakouer OUT!

Aright, this one deserves it’s own post… People have been umming and ahhh-ing about his upgrade for the week…

Now, your hand might be forced on the issue.

PORT Adelaide will be without young playmaker Nathan Krakouer when it heads to Sydney to tackle the Swans on Sunday.

Krakouer, 21, has been a revelation across half-back but the lightly framed West Australian has developed some soreness over the opening eight rounds.

So, is that going to Duck anyone up? or perhaps has lack of going down will be a blessing is disguise for those who bench him? Plus, a week off might do him wonders.

    you are the weakest link…goodbye

  2. rohan says:

ooh now you tell us :-( &(^$@%#^*&

  3. Spud says:

Good! One down in the forward line but at least i don’t have to worry about trading him to preserve value – can delay it for another week and upgrade elsewhere. Good call!!!

  4. Lucas says:

Spud the question though is if there will be the forward line value there is this week. I think there might not be for a few rounds, by which time Krak will have lost value and you would possibly have lost scoreboard pressure.

For me I was humming and haahing about getting rid of Krak this week and this decision made it easy – he’s now gone.

  5. Spud says:

True Lucas, personally for me though there were more pressing issues elsewhere in my team that needed to be dealt with first but the potential loss of value for krak was forcing my hand on a trade which i didnt really want to do – now i can fix up the issues in the backline and midfield this week and deal with krak next week as i wasnt looking at getting buddy/rok/sj so them appreciating doesnt hurt.

Best of luck though Lucas and i hope the krak trade benefits your team!

  6. Tim says:

Goodbye Krak, it was fun but now it’s sadly over. Welcome Pav!

  7. travo says:

Traded Krak to A Davey 10 minutes before the news broke, feel vindecated…

  8. walesy says:

It is a reminder to us all about the late withdrawal though!

Imagine if it had been Davey who was out? As Chappy was last week!

The Bartel rule is well and truely in effect right now. :)

  9. Spud says:

agreed. no trades before 7 on friday night, no excuses!

  10. walesy says:

Wait… what about heading to the pub after work on Friday? Surely trading *before* then is a good idea… ;)

  11. Spud says:

for the record – the 7:00 figure comes from allowing 1 minute to do the trade/s and 39 minutes to log on :)

  12. Spud says:

haha too true walesy mate, too true.

  13. rohan says:

yeah and is made worse when you have to leave for the real thing by 5pm, short of taking the laptop to etihad which i’m not ready to stoop to as yet as our US fantasy colleagues are well accustomed to.

  14. knighty says:

Look to get on Marlon motlop in a couple of weeks, should step right in as the rebounding defender.

  15. fufufufufu says:

WTF krak nooooooooooo NEED MY KRAK FIX!!!!!!!!!!

  16. knighty says:

And now I have to play Taylor Walker AGAIN- I am so sick of keeping this guy in the team!

  17. Lucas says:

Rohan I have one word for you -Blackberry
    :)

  18. Spud says:

Don’t worry Knighty, you can trade him out for a nice profit after this weekend and pick up somehow who can play football. You’d like to think with a b/e of -18 that he wont’ drop in value…surely…hopefully

  19. Bandit says:

Krak out for ROK… was planned, just had to choose between ROK and Stevie J…. time will tell

  20. Bongo says:

Happy with that – he can come back refreshed and get back to his usual decent scores soon enough.

  21. rohan says:

hey lucas good idea. btw off topic kind of but has anyone used the heraldsun/scmobile link through their mobile as yet ? thoughts ?

  22. Matty says:

rohan – my phone keeps telling me no gateway reply. Guess it could be the wrong address tho. not sure. anyone got the addy?
    i have tried
    http://www.scmobile.heraldsun.com.au – no good

  23. knighty says:

    I wouldn’t count on it Spud :P

  24. Lucas says:

I use the scmobile link all the time; it works a lot quicker than the normal site.

Most of the time I’m out of the office by 5:15pm so it’s the only real way on the Blackberry to update teams if I’m out on a Friday night.

Mind you, last week it took me 30 mins to enter 2 changes to team structure, so obviously it’s still an issue at peak times.

  25. rohan says:

doesn’t appear like you can make any trades on the heraldsun/scmobile link unless i’m missing something ?

  26. chris says:

ah crapola!!! but i guess this is why we have emergencies….come on Ben Warren u blonde haired muppet!

  27. chris says:

    alllhtoooo…..Giansiracusa makes me 20k….hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

  28. Lucas says:

Certainly can make trades on SCmobile site.

Log in, then trade, just like the normal site. It’s not easy to click through, and certainly not as much fancy stuff as the main site, but it does the job.

Where the SCmobile site works best is with the match updates during the round.

  29. Bandit says:

    Matty, lose the www

    Just http://scmobile.heraldsun.com.au

  30. Spud says:

dew and tuck out for the hawks…whoa

  31. mark1 says:

    Agreed Lucas, hello buddy :)

  32. Lucas says:

And once again Cheney out. This time he’s gone from my side for good. I just can’t handle this Friday pressure.

  33. Cam says:

What do people think about Goodes? av. of 104 at 484k.

  34. mark1 says:

Like him Cam, scores have been up and down though.

  35. Clint says:

Traded out Krak for pav so am happy enough, as for Goodes i have had him since the start of the year always starts off bad and roars home but this year has started well jump on Goodes.I normally have not started with him but have always had the intention of bringing him in, but something always happens that makes me have to do other things and leave him out not this year.

  36. rohan says:

unfortunately stuck with cheney and krak now for another week or two.

btw can enter the scmobile site with no problems but i’m stuffed if i can see any T button to trade, just S,C and V buttons only. damn weird, maybe it’s been pulled for now.

  37. Ben says:

McGlynn or Sidebottom fopr 7th fwd????

  38. rohan says:

hey, probably my stuff up re scmobile and the missing trade nutton as I’d already made my 2 trades for the week before accessing the site.

  39. Bandit says:

That will do it Rohan… just checked it, it is def there.

Lads, posted this in last thread, but maybe been overlooked

Any logic in the Skippy > Sidebum > Didak upgrade over the next couple of weeks (I have 14 trades left), and this will leave me with a forward line of Volt, Pav, JBrown, ROK, Buddy, Fevola, Didak or does Dids have long term issues with form/injuries and an underperforming side?

Was thinking Skippy for Sidebum nets me 180k into my pocket, and a better 3 week increase than Skippy, so make some cash for the cost of another trade… and then when Dids comes back I can wait to time the trade, and get him at the bottom of the curve

Oh, and that will leave M. Brown and T. Walker on the bench

  40. Dixie Flatline says:

Traded Krak out for ROK before Port said he was injured (yeah, right) on DT and then did the same trick on SC. Wanted to upgrade to Pavlich but that would have left me skint in the money department.

Only 11 SC trades left for the season but 15 DT trades left.

And my Fantasy Footy side is not appreciative of the fact that Dew has been dropped. I’ve heard whispers that it’s for disciplinary reasons – jus’ sayin’.

  41. Spud says:

fairly sure the club is simply resting dew this week, they tend to do that with the older blokes against ‘weaker’ teams. will find out tomorrow at training for sure though

  42. Clint says:

Dids has been out with a hammy, Sidebottom will stay in the team for a while he is playing in the midfield and there are alot of spuds who will get booted out of the team before him.Glad to see Chappys playing tonight heard Bomber say today he was not certain to play.

  43. semmo says:

Dew was dropped for being late for training according to SEN.

  44. Tim says:

I have Ablett but I can’t understand how on earth that game warranted a score of 149. Yeh he got a heap of the ball but the vast majority were pretty much useless handballs, he became selfish and went for goal when the better option was to hit a team mate out in front and boyd did a decent job on him in the 2nd half. Aker almost single handedly brought his team to within a whisker of winning and only gets 91.

  45. semmo says:

Yeah Tim, a lot of GAJ’s points are from those dinky little give and get handballs, aren’t they? Still won’t stop me hopefully getting him after next round though! Just glad I didn’t go with Bartel as captain. This was one of those rare Geelong games where it didn’t pay to have too many of them in your side (I have 5 of them)

  46. Tim says:

I agree. I have GAJ (not as captain) and Selwood who both scored well but also Bartel and Chapman. I’m hoping Chapman’s hand injury isn’t too bad and keeps him out for no more than a week or two. I also have Gilbee and Higgins so not a great night.
I am a doggies supporter so I guess it’s the bitterness talking. Feel bad for Johnno, busted a gut all night and to once again miss after the siren, deserves to win one for us soon.

  47. Tim says:

Is there also a reason why Johnno wasn’t allowed to play on? Was the ump setting the mark, what’s the reason?

  48. Watto says:

I was going to trade him anyway for Sidebottom, and now he’s out that happened

(Sidebottom has his 3rd game this week – so had to get him in now

  49. Spud says:

looks like SEN may be right with the discipline call on dew – hes playing in the box hill hawks now wearing number 81 haha. Good to see young and ellis out there too.
