Too Serious SuperCoach Leagues

Alright, I was going to wait til I had finally finished wiring TS up for the 2010 season, but there have been too many inquiries to hold off anymore.

So without further ado, allow me to officially open the Too Serious SuperCoach Leagues.

After last year, we learnt a few lessons, so things are going to be a little different this year.

Firstly, we are going to have a TooSerious administrator in each league that won’t be eligible for prizes (So each comp will be out of 15.)

Secondly, we learnt that Paypal takes their cut on payment both ways, so I’m gunna sift a little ($3.33) off the top to cover the admin costs. I hope everyone is cool with that.

And thirdly, the GF winner won’t be getting a cash prize. They will be getting a mystery prize which hasn’t been figured out yet. It could be something good, might just be a t-shirt, possibly a pack of pringles. Who knows, does anyone want to sponsor these things? Because we would love to give a shout out to your business throughout the season.

So, the details are as follows:
Entry fee: $50

1st prize based on overall ranking: $600
2nd prize based on overall ranking: $100
Grand final winner: Mystery prize

In addition to that, the boys over at Your SuperCoach Coach are trying to put together a league of leagues competition. currently the details are pretty sketchy, but the gist of it will be Elite leagues, brought together from the various SuperCoach sites off the web, competing against each other for both site-pride, and to scoop up the total cash prize pool. Tentatively, the entry fee for a league will be $250, so I’m thinking a $10 entrance fee, with me picking up the rest sounds fair.

So, how to enter?

Firstly the TooSerious leagues.

I will need you to send an email to too.serious.team.management@gmail.com with the title “TooSeriousLeagues” and following information.

Team name.
Preferred contact email address. (this one is really important if you win!)
Method of payment. (I would prefer you to make a paypal deposit to Too.Serious.Team.Management@gmail.com -link found under the donate tab; or if that’s not possible, a direct bank deposit can be worked out.) Along with any receipt numbers where applicable.
And any special conditions you might have. For example, you want to be in the same league as a few mates. (or yanno, 14 mates if that floats your boat ;) )

If you would like to register your interest in the league of leagues, I will need you to send an email to too.serious.team.management@gmail.com with the title “TooSeriousLeagueOfLeagues” and following information.

Your SuperCoach rankings over the last two or three years- which ever make you look better. (Because one year doesn’t make or break a SuperCoach career!)

Last year, these leagues were a roaring success with many people applying too late to make an extra league. So get in early so you don’t miss out. These leagues are fast becoming the premium way to play SuperCoach and it’s a whole lot of fun for everyone involved.

And now to make a long post even longer, we have one last piece of news.

TooSerious has got a new poster on board. A regular over at the BigFooty forums, Hirdy_5. Or Hirdy as I like to call him. A poster with an excellent knowledge of everything fantasy football, I’m sure he’ll make an excellent addition to the TooSerious team.

It’s about time you got this thing up and running. ;-)

  2. travo says:

Im in for a league, however, $50 not in my budget with mortgage, kids, wife at home with another on the way, so will be willing to go in a $10-20 league if anyone else in similar situation

  3. walesy says:

Travo, if we can drum up interest for that, I would be more than happy to run it.

The only problem is- we tried it last year, and only got 2 people sign up. :)

But yeah, I’ll edit the post above to see if we can’t get a little more support this year.

  4. Lucas says:

Thanks Travo, we always want to support the “slab for the winner” leagues, so if we get the demand we will put one in most definitely.

    However, a very small caveat:
The more we get in for the $50 (and the more donations we get) the better prizes we can swing across the league winners or even just for random prizes. I’d hate it for people to drop in interest in the leagues just for the sake of not being able to win the overall. There should always be an incentive, even if it’s as naff as you say a Packet of Pringles! :)

  5. Clinton says:

Well i was in it last year and cost us first spot so i have to redeem myself =) count me in

  6. walesy says:

Ha! That’s the spirit! :D Get on board!

  7. Baxter says:

Count me in! I could do with some extra cash! :-)

  8. asanque says:

    I’m in again :)

  9. spud says:

“wife at home with another on the way” ‘atta boy travo! just make sure they never meet each other mate :p

  10. Windy Hill Wizard says:

I’m back to defend my title from last year.

I think the competition is going to much hotter than last year (no disrespect to Asanque).

A BIG chance for TS to rule the SC world this year I would think.

  11. SPA says:

I’m happy to join Travis in a $10-20 league, playing from overseas and in a similar family position.

Does the prize money go to the whole league or just the best scoring player in all the leagues over the whole season?

  12. johana says:

Each league gets a winner and a second place getter, SPA. :)

  13. walesy says:

Yeah, what Jo said- each league plays within it’s own pool.

I haven’t really thought about having anything for the best player across the leagues- maybe if we get enough of them up and running though. :)

  14. Virginia says:

I am in, was going really well until I stuffed up with a couple of trades which were crap. anyway made top 8 last year and top 500 overall. Count me in

  15. Simonoz says:

Well well well……I spend a few months working like a dog over here in bloody frigid NYC and I see tonite you lads are up & running and counting down the seven weeks till….as we say over here…….kick off.

A very belated Happy New Year Spud, Walsey, Lucas, Wizard & Asanque……I’ve missed Spud’s rhetoric.

Count me in for your leagues Walsey……I’ll be popping down to Melbourne in a week for a whirlwind 10 day golf/surf/drinking jaunt with a Yank mate of mine….but once I get back I’ll study up….(read: cheat by reading everyone elses input)

    :)

  16. spud says:

Glad to hear things are going well Simon, looking forward to another year of footy chat with ya mate! Belated happy new year to yourself as well. Hehe the smart-alek remarks are still in my blood as you have noticed :D
