Round One. FOOTY’S BACK!
Alright, I’m sick of seeing that error post up top. They’re currently restarting the server every time it gets too bad until they can fix it. *rolls eyes*.
That said. 3 hours til lockout! Are we excited! I know I’m excited!
I’ve got three people to watch tonight and boy am I excited to watch them! (Well, two if I decide to cash in Warnock now for a 50k payday.
)
Since the server has recently been reset, get in and get your tips in while we’re still smashing along!
And don’t forget, the live scoring should be going for it’s maiden voyage tonight. And I say maiden voyage because it scored a bit of a recode and is completely untested.
So if it’s broken, then fixed, then broken again- then there’s a chance it’s me tinkering and *not* the servers for once!
*sigh* I do long for the days where the only errors were me tinkering…
Enough on that though- FOOTY’S BACK!!! Go you good thing!!
(ps- we’ll get the team posted up over the break as they come in)

can’t decide who to start – lewis jetta or barlow.
both playing against tough opposition. leaning towards barlow, he’s had some pretty damn good scores in preseason.
Has any one considered Robbie Tarrant for their F9 position? Scored a 93 for SC last pracky match he played.
Tarrant=emegency
Definitly considered him.
I paniced last night and put Roberts in but i am looking at burning a trade and will get the however is the best performed before the price change out of tarrent, duncan, rockliffe(if he plays), etc
-already have hithcock and gumby happy with those, if gumby stays fit he will play 22 not counting on that by the way but never the less
All my players named. Yes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Have only one spot left for a midfield bench spot.
Tossing up between jetta, banner(injury concerns), JKT, Howlett and Bastinac(all who may not get extended runs??)
Might have to bite the bullet and bring in Trengove. Just not happy about having that much coin sitting on the bench.
Even considering Banfield…
Frustraiting! i had a really nice team together before the Gray injury scare and the rockliffe non selection. funny how two little things can make all the best layed plan come crashing down..bit dramatic havent come down but annoying all the same
who are your ruck bench players CJ?
@Mick_15: In the exact same boat. A fir Grau and Rockliffe starting and I’d have been locked in for the last 48hrs. Now, I’m still scrambling!
Gotta love the last minute scrambling,, just needa find 30k to fit in hille but no idea where to get the money from as im reluctant to trade anyone out,, really frustrating lol
“A fit Gray….”
Stoopid keyboard!
that is exactly what my position i had rockliffe starting gray as 5th fwd, hitchcock and Pods covering and its going tits up.
Paniced last night and put roberts in for Pods to cover for gray and have now gone Rockliffe to gumby.
Gumby will surely play 22 if fit.
Or shouldi stick with rockliffe instead of gumby?
*i had roberts as emg last night, now iv put gumby in for rockliffe and made him emg in the anticiaption that he is going to score more than 15! will i get gumbys score or roberts?
Mick you will get lowest of your E’s.
u will get roberts score,, i have same problem
actually just figured out i dont have enough cash to go roberts to rockliffe before price rise.
Have to make the decision now
Gumby or Rockliffe what do you think blokes?
Lowest emg score!! that is hellish!! haha, oh well that will teach me for panicing before lock-out been playing this game for 4 years and it still makes me do silly things
still..:
Gumby or Rockliffe?
Rockliffe is a little more appealing now that i know i wont get gumby’s score this week any way
@ Mick_15: I’m goin Gumby. He has been an injury risk for a long time, but played a couple NAB games and will be a walk up start every week if fit. I’ll only be lookin to cash him in after anywhere from 3-8 games so if he can stay on the park for just a little while (which imo he can…this year) he’ll be worth it.
I’ll also be looking out for Rockliffe getting named and if it coincides I’ll be using him for my downgrade from Gumby!!
If Brizzy win its hard for Rock to break in… is one thought.
Just last minute opinions,,, boomer or pav?
very true, will stick with the gumby then. Now just have to hope that gray comes up and gets through the game without any problem looking less and less likely from what im hearing.
Boomer for mine John,
Pav seemed a little off in Pre-season, might mean little or a lot.
I like boomer this year just personally.
Pav will be an upgrade target for me
Okay, decisions made, I’m locked in:
B: Bock, Enright, Shaw, Hodge, Macdonald, Malceski, Waters (Mcguire, Nason)
M: Ablett, Pendles, Selwood, Trengove, Martin, Barlow (Jetta, Bastinac)
R: Clarke, Hille (Warnock, Lobbe)
F: Roo, ROK, Brennan, Higgins, Tippet, Hall, Hitchcock (Gumby, Roberts)
So, no Goddard, three rookies starting and a speculative ruck combo. Let’s hope it pays off.
Good luck all!
see ya lads, good luck this weekend
^3 mid rookies starting, 4 total. LDO!
Cant believe im saying this but i am getting gumby,, i will gurantee i will regret it but i cant see any other forwards worth 100k instead,,, yh pav or boomer is the one anoying me,, Apart from that all good
Another option that I’m considering Mick is that if you’re really worried about Gray not playing is bench Gray and put Gumbleton on the field, that way Roberts’ 15 wont count unless someone else is a late withdrawl as well. Only risk with that is if Gray pulls up okay and scores 100 while Gumby puts in a 40 point effort.
John – I think that there are better options than Pav and Boomer. Given any thought to Higgins or Lockyer?
Stu – I like Brennan as a unique. Thought about him for my team, then dumped him for Lockyer who averaged better in the preseason.
I have higgins in midfield,,, mmm maybe lockyear did well for me last season,,, still trying to figure it out,, 1 reason boomer is that i have no1 from roos but not sure, freed up some cash and now can get anyforward just to confuse me more
No last minute panic attacks? You guys disappoint me,
John – What about Johno Brown?
Yh good idea,, i dont have brissy player so i guess he could go in,, just concerned how he will go with fev but i guess pav and boomer have bigger Q marks
FINAL TEAM
Def-Goddard, Hodge, kelly, Macdonald, Malceski, Hunt, Waters (Moore, Nason)
Midfield- Ablett, Murphy, Pendlebury, Higgins, Trengove, Martin (Jetta, Barlow)
Ruck- Sandilands, Hille (Warnock, Lobbe)
Forward- Roo, Brown, Buddy, Tippet, Hall, Dangerfield, Hitchcock (Gumbleton, Roberts)
25k left
Only concern is risky with players coming back from injuries in back line as well as hille and 7th forward but apart from that happy
Yeah you have to think that the supply at the Lions would be twice as much as Freo. I think Brown will still be the no1 kick to player as a player’s favorite and captain. He’ll still be carrying the weight of the team in a crisis.
Yh have to agree with that,,what u think of my team>?
No last minute panic attacks? Ha! I’m still wrestling with JKT vs. Howlett…
Deciding on whether to play Hitchcock at F7 or downgrading Clark who is my 2nd ruck to Hille and upgrading Hitchcock to Ballantyne is doing my head in, have no idea which way to go.
Haha kudos to the guy who started a thread called “Ablett in doubt…” and then wrote in his actual post “to play for geelong next year” or something along those lines. Quality panic thread title!!!
Surprised we haven’t had any more of those false threads where people try to throw others off at the last minute.
Can anyone confirm that roo is going to miss this week as the game clashes with his councelling sessions to help him overcome last years grandfinal loss? (on the off chance people take what i write seriously, don’t lol)
Hmmm to keep Moles on the bench or switch him for Howlett, JKT or Bastinac?? I know we are really keen on Bastinac down at North and thinki he was the steal of the draft, but he’s still only on a small frame.
God how have I got Gumby slotted in also…..argh! Is this a wise move or would Hitchcock be a safer bet?
Thoughts?
Geelongs will cream Gumbo tonight. Probly
Yeah not just lookin at tonight, but would hope to get 6-8 games from one of them for a price rise and trade…..hmmm. Gumby’s sure to be in every week if fit, so I think I will take a risk on the plastecine man and be prepared to burn the ytrade for Rohan when he starts getting games perhaps.
which 3 should i go out of the following fellas? trengrove, jetta, bastinac???
sorry and barlow?
Trengrove and Jetta would look safer bets. In saying that I have all three with Trengrove on field and Jetta and Bastinac on my bench. I switched in Bastinac for Moles this morning, but am thinking of switching back. Not sure which one is likely to play more games.
Trengrove, Barlow, Jetta for me.
might be hard for moles to break into the doggies side compared to the other boys though?
Hi Guys, just a note: Lockyer has been nemed as Full Back.
still not convinced with lobbe, in the 4th ruck spot, dont think his playing this week, not to many other stand out options though
Yeah that is what I thought Gerard, I’ve kept Bastinac in, the decision made as I am a North fan.
Game on!
Great stuff with the Live Stats..sees to be working pretty well..didnt know if you wanted feedback – a couple of errors in the Sydney game from memory – a player seems to be missing from the list and no DT score for ROK – great feature though and appreciate still in test mode.
