Messages have gone out to those with the unenviable task of picking an opponent this week. Once I hear back from them - or the deadline passes - I will post the fixture for week 1 here.

Post reserved for honouring the Misfits finals debut after 6 years, and quite possibly their last for this year :p

On a more serious note, participants need to have nominated their opponents by the (mildly) extended deadline, or face losing their preference.

Who are we waiting on and what is the deadline? It would have to be tomorrow at the latest, wouldn't it?

Was originally 8pm tonight, then @graeme needed a minor extension due to some local cow stuff, then Fitzy is overseas..
Effectively now 8am tomorrow and then we pick around the missing, regardless of the undoubtedly awesome excuse for missing the deadline

Fear not, the Critical Incident Response Plan has already been implemented.

The week 1 fixture has been added above. Some good looking match ups in there.

I will load it into tsLeagues later today. Thank you all for your patience.

Oh, Venus Bay was the team i most wanted to avoid :(

Anyway, we'll get on with it and do what we need to for the win.

We've just gone and put a picture of the Vultures in Switzerland up in our changerooms to show theyre taking the piss, dont respect us and taking us too lightly.

Expect a strong showing from the Cockies this week!

Also, good work to @JC facilitating the week 1 FIXture! Thanks mate

I wrote Waikikamoocow off after round 1.
I havent even paid attention to whats happened since then. You must've been lucky to make the 8 ;)

I'll give you one thing though, you made a good decision not picking the Cockies in week 1 of the finals haha

I had a feeling the Devils would be playing the Misfits @Len , it should be a great match-up and a fair bit of common ground for the two clubs being coached by two Sainters albeit one with a strong GWS influence as well.

-Whichever club gets the victory between the Misfits and Devils will record their first finals victory so some new blood is guaranteed in the final four.

    - From 2012 to 2016 one player dominated each club's best and fairest - Ward winning all five at the Misfits and Pendlebury doing the same at the Devils. However with each club rising up the ladder in 2017 the performance of Ward and Pendlebury has dipped from their previous lofty heights with Ward finishing fourth in the Misfits 2017 b & f. Having been ruled out for the rest of the season with a finger injury Pendelbury is likely to finish third or fourth in the Devils 2017 b & f. Pendlebury will attempt to have some influence in the final as an assistant coach whilst Ward will lead his Misfits onto the field and looms as one of the Misfits mist dangerous weapons.

    - Several players have been traded between the Misfits and the Devils over the years including Billy Longer and Will Hoskin-Elliot in the latest trade period. A massive increase in the stakes this weekend than when the clubs were playing for the Devon Smith-Shaun Grigg Cup with the Misfits in the bottom third of the ladder and the Devils in the middle third of the ladder.

The match probably hangs on Friday night, the last time our feeder club played the dogs Zac was the only Misfit to star, will need a much better performance across the board this week.
Also hopeful that Paddy doses up on videos of Jacobs smashing him last week as motivation for this week!

New blood in the final four? Oh yes. There will be blood alright.
