@ViQBoZ, @stowie, @thokash, @tyze1, @Len, @Dale Duivesteyn , @Darran The 2018 All-Stars Match is to be played at Drouin during Round 10, each team will have at least 1 representative in the final 22 (named in the classic Super coach format except with no C/VC and with an emergency on each line, ie 26 players total). Note Port Adelaide and Gold Coast players once again have the bye. 2016 Team East side Sam Docherty (Drouin), Matthew Boyd (Avengers), Corey Enright (Jan Juc) Jasper Pittard (Drouin), Josh Gibson (Butchers), Jimmy Bartel (Black Swamp) (Emergency Bachar Houli Jan Juc) Patrick Dangerfield (Drouin), Scott Pendlebury (Fugitives), Daniel Hannebery (Jan Juc), Josh P. Kennedy (Chinchilla) Joel Selwood (Black Swamp), Adam Treloar (Avengers), Marcus Bontempelli (Black Swamp), Patrick Cripps (Mole Creek) (Emergency Callan Ward Avengers) Dayne Zorko (Chinchilla), Daniel Wells (Fugitives), Leigh Montagna (Chinchilla) Luke DAHLHAUS (Butchers), Jack Gunston (Fugitives), Aaron Hall (Chinchilla) (Emergency Tom J Lynch GCS and Fugitives) Todd Goldstein (Butchers), Shane Mumford (Drouin) (Emergency Brodie Grundy Jan Juc) 2017 Team East side S.Docherty (Drouin), D.Roberton (Nangkita), L.Montagna (MacQuarie Island) L.Hodge (Rutherglen), H.Shaw (Cockburn), Z Williams (Cockburn) (Emergency Z Tuohy MacQuarie Island) P.Dangerfield (Drouin), Pendlebury (Rutherglen), J.Selwood (29ers), M.Bontempelli (29ers), J.Kelly (Cockburn), P.Cripps (Mole Creek), D.Hannebery (Jan Juc), J.Viney (29ers) (Emergency M Murphy Cockburn) T.Nankervis (Nangkita), K.Stevens (MacQuarie Island), J.Steele (Cockburn) I.Heeney (Mole Creek), J.Macrae (Rutherglen), L.Dahlhaus (Nangkita) (Emergency T Walker Drouin) S.Martin (Rutherglen), S.Mumford (Drouin) (Emergency Brodie Grundy Jan Juc) My suggestion is that each coach nominates players from their own side by no later than 8pm on Tuesday 15th May (ie following Round 8) so that we can decide on a draft side following AFL Round 9 and then make adjustments following Round 10 AFL selections on Thursday 24th May. The final team is to be posted in the the 2018 Rep Footy match thread http://tooserious.net/forum/threads/2018-orfff-representative-game.90135/ no later than 1pm on Friday 25th May. Post away.
Early days, but the Avengers look to have some unexpected contenders for "best" spots come round 8s conclusion
After 2 years as emergency looks like Brodie Grundy might finally make it to the big time. Tipping him and Stef to have 30 each. We are flying in some hamstrings direct from Germany in an effort to get little Gaz in the team for his first year eligible.
I'm overseas for the next 7ish weeks, should still get my team in and the like, but just in case I don't remember to nominate... Patrick Cripps 117 Midfield Isaac Heeney 106 Mid/Fwd Charlie Curnow 91 Forward Bailey Williams 85 Defender
The 29ers nominations are:- Ruck - Sinclair 8@106 (plays Brisbane in Round 10) Mid - Duckwood 8@109 (vs Carlton), Bont 7@106 (vs Pies) Def - SDT 8@87 (vs Freo), Geary 8@81 (vs Tiges), McVeigh 8@81 (vs Brisbane) Fwd - JDG 5@83 (vs Dogs) Unfortunately the Hoff and Jonas will both have the bye.
@thokash @stowie @Dale Duivesteyn @Len @tyze1 @Darran Are you gents planning to make player nominations this week or after Round 9 ?
Fugitives Nominations Def: Salem averaging 91 over last 5 Mids: Macrae 135, Cotchin 107 Pendles 103 Ruc: Martin 105 Fwd: Gunston 94
I'll throw up the usual suspects Danger (115), Duncan (104) and Steven (99) for the mids with Savage (90) down back. Also happy to toss Walters (injury affected 86) and Lobb (80) as FWD options should they be fit.
For Macquarie Island I would suggest that Toby McLean (111) as a M/F along with Josh Caddy (95) M/F and Kane Lambert (93) F would all be worth a look when filling the foward line. Shaun Higgins as a potential MID, and Heath Grundy has hit a rare patch of form and is averaging 104 from the last 3 games with scores of 100, 107 & 105 in his most recent outings. I am happy to nominate Zorko & Josh P Kennedy as other Mid options as both have a high ceiling and have hit some good form recently but are proving a bit inconsistent. As for Rucks I am sure we can do better than Nic Nat.
Team East Nominations so far by average -- Def 75 plus, Mids/Rucks 100 plus and Forwards 85 plus most welcome to be added by the remaining coaches @Len, @thokash, @Dale Duivesteyn, injured players should be included unless they are an LTI Def - Savage, SDT, Williams, McVeigh, Geary, Salem (79) Grundy (74) Mid - Macrae, Cripps, Danger, Selwood, Cotchin, Bont, Duncan, Pendles (103) Higgins (102), Steven, JPK, Zorko Fwd - McLean, Heeney, Caddy, Gunston, Lambert, C Curnow (89) Walters (86), JDG, Lobb Ruck - Sinclair, Martin (105) Nic Nat (95)
Ok here is my lot Def: Alex Witherden, Luke Brown Mid: Ed Curnow, josh Kelly Fwd: Blake Acres, Brett Deledio, Jack Martin Ruck: lol
Hey fellas, super keen for this - Ducks nominations below: Tom McDonald (D/F) - 102 AVE - only 3 games so far this year but looks a likely type for the Demons up front, but could also be used in defense for the East. One more game to look at him, not sure how he will fare in the NT and the greasy conditions Jack Crisp (DEF) - 90 AVE - I think he's having his best year and classified as a defender this year, should get a look in Gary Ablett (MID) - 113 AVE - the GOAT has to play if fit, I bet his nerves are going crazy for his debut Mitch Robinson (F/M) - 98 AVE - has returned to his 2016 form getting a good run in the midfield at Brissy, would definitely have him in consideration Mitch Wallis (F/M) - 91 AVE - not quite as good as the other Mitch, only has 1 hundred from his 6 games but he's been consistent - bench spot maybe? Brodie Grundy (RUC) - 125 AVE - sorry Stef and Callum you are going to have to fight it out for ruck slot number 2. This guy is an absolute beast at the moment, first locked in the squad! (I would hope)
With our defense looking a bit stretched I'll also mention Bachar Houli as a candidate, only average 79 so far this year but has been elite the last few years.
Updated Team East nominations by average, Def 80 plus, Mids/Rucks 95 plus and Forwards 90 plus most welcome to be added by the remaining coach @Dale Duivesteyn, Def – T McDonald, Crisp, Savage, SEEDSMAN, McVeigh, Scharanberg (86), Williams (85), L Brown (85 DNP Round 9), Witherden (85), SDT (85), Geary, Houli, Salem, H Grundy Mid - Macrae, Cripps, E Curnow, Danger, TRELOAR, Bont, Selwood, Kelly (105 - injured), Cotchin (104), Duncan (103), Pendles (102), GAJ (101), Higgins, Steven, JPK, Zorko Fwd - McLean, Heeney, Caddy, Robinson, Deledio (DNP Round 9), Gunston (95) J ROO (92), Wallis (91), Curnow (89 DNP Round 9 due to injury), Lambert (89), JDG (88), J Martin (DNP Round 9), M Walters, Lobb - Acres is out for a month Ruck – Grundy, Martin (102) Sinclair (102), Nic Nat (98), NANK (96) We can put any unanimous choices in first and then figure out which players we like to round out the team.
Depending on how he scores this weekend, I can also offer up in defence, Scharenberg who is averaging 86 and coming off a 137 Edit by TTH - added above
In the interest of keeping this thing rolling I will nominate 4 players on Behalf of the Bucks @Dale Duivesteyn D = Seedman, M= Treloar, F = Riewoldt and R = Nank Added to the draft squad above
For mine the 15 locks from the post above would be D - First 4 M - First 5 F - First 4 R - Grundy & Martin The 29ers wouldn't have a rep so one of McVeigh, Bont or Duckwood would need to fill one of the last 7 spots in the 22 or Sinclair would need to be picked ahead of Martin in the ruck. I think all the other teams have a rep in the 15 above.
