The opening round of 2021 ORFFF footy has arrived and sees 8 matches as follows Walpole Woylies (UOC) vs Macquarie Island Whales The back to back premiers and current ORFFF Official and Unofficial Champions put the latter title on the line against the Whales, to whom they dealt a 468 point spanking last time the 2 sides met, that would be the 2nd largest margin ever except that it is an unofficial margin due to being an AFL bye round (Adelaide and Brisbane). http://tooserious.net/forum/tsLeagues.php?leagueId=14&round=14&year=2020 Neptune Island Noahs vs Heard Island Shags Last seasons runners up versus the team they beat in the 2020 Prelim Final, the ledger was 1-1 in 2020 after an early season win to the Shags (their first ever W against the Noahs, who they now trail 1-6 in their H2H after 5 seasons) http://tooserious.net/forum/tsLeagues.php?leagueId=14&round=4&year=2020 http://tooserious.net/forum/tsLeagues.php?leagueId=14&round=17&year=2020 Useless Loop Virgins vs Mole Creek Glow-Worms The Virgins upset the 2020 minor premiers in the Elimination Final, after the Mole Creek side had won the earlier home and away meeting http://tooserious.net/forum/tsLeagues.php?leagueId=14&round=5&year=2020 http://tooserious.net/forum/tsLeagues.php?leagueId=14&round=16&year=2020 Jan Juc Ducks vs Cockburn Avengers 5th vs 13th from 2020, on paper the Ducks should win easily but the young Avengers outfit will look to show a glimpse of a bright future and spring a Round 1 upset. http://tooserious.net/forum/tsLeagues.php?leagueId=14&round=7&year=2020 Maralinga Atoms vs Rutherglen Fugitives 2 of last years losing Elimination Finalists clash first up, with their 2020 clash decided by only 3 points. http://tooserious.net/forum/tsLeagues.php?leagueId=14&round=4&year=2020 Drouin Dropbears vs Black Swamp 29ers 10th vs 11th from season 2020, the last time the sides met was the week the AFL postponed the Bombers vs Demons match mid round and the ORFFF had to use average scores to decide a 9 point nailbiter. http://tooserious.net/forum/tsLeagues.php?leagueId=14&round=3&year=2020 Port Lincoln Power vs Mt Thirsty Boozers Last season’s bottom 2 clash in the opening week as the Power look to break a 13 match ORFFF losing streak. Their last victory was when they won the corresponding matchup last time these 2 sides clashed. http://tooserious.net/forum/tsLeagues.php?leagueId=14&round=2&year=2020 Nangkita Bucks vs Wedge Island White Pointers 12th from 2020 versus 9th – as the 2 sides meet again in the first round following a classic match in last year’s opening week. Will one of these teams break their finals duck in 2021? http://tooserious.net/forum/tsLeagues.php?leagueId=14&round=1&year=2020 ---------------- remember to head across to TSleagues and get your full best XV team entered early in the week and then tweak your side as each set of AFL lineups are announced the night before the game Good luck all

Black Swamp (Round 1) Clark Wilkie O’Connor Hardwick - Williamson Daicos Bont Lipinski Higgins - Lazarro De Goey Fogarty Schoenberg Farrell - Hayward Sinclair - Buderick Dunstan Selwood - Young The 29ers have named ex Fugitive Patrick Lipinski as the sole newcomer in the side for the Round 1 match against the temporarily ruckless Dropbears @stowie Our emergencies may well be required to fill some gaps this week as several of the starting 15 are rumoured to be not in their AFL teams best 22 so are less than certain to be fulfilling their ORFFF duties. Hence ex Noah Connor Buderick may** also make his club debut.
The Virgin's are on 645/9 71.7 to the Glow Worms on 1,093/11 99.4 @James84 The visitors backline has absolutely dominated and has smashed the home side with their run and carry.
In somewhat of a pleasant surprise the Whales are not doing terrible & are 11/865 (78.6) but still comfortably behind the Woylies who I believe are at 10/937 (93.7)
The 29ers are 11/887 with Farrell, H Clark, Wilkie and 50% of Buderick to play, hoping to scrape up a high 1100s score and see if that competes with a 14 man dropbears @stowie outfit and may help us avoid a 4th consecutive ORFFF loss.
Reality has struck and the 29ers have failed to crack 1100, with an unofficial score of 1095. We await round rollover tomorrow to see how we have fared against the Dropbears @stowie.
The Virgin's finish on 1,126/15 75.1 getting smashed by the Glow Worms on 1,381/15 92.1 @James84 The only positive for the Virgin's was Oh Errol, I would do anything to play like him! What a sensation who stepped in for Dumont.
The Maralinga Atoms take the win over the Rutherglen Fugitives with a 15/1432 @ 95.46 to the Fugitives 15/1284 @ 85.6. The Match started well for the Atoms who were led by a mighty 158 opening night score to get it going. Josh Dunkley 113, Tim Kelly 114, Tom Stewart 113 and Shannon Hurn 118 all contributing to the win. We had a bit of a scare with Rockliff playing as a medical sub but luckily it didnt make too much difference in the end. The Fugitives were led with good performances by Jack Macrae, Dylan Shiel and Scotty Dependlbury but were let down with average efforts by Kane Lambert and Tom Lynch.
Round 1 of ORFFF season 2021 saw margins of 21, 40, 45, 83, 148, 170, 240 and 257 points with the winners being a 14 man Drouin @stowie, Mt Thirsty @leematty1, Heard Island @anthak, Walpole @port_leschenault, Maralinga @Brett Sanders, Jan Juc @thokash, Mole Creek @James84 and Wedge Island @Bearfly respectively. ORFFF Team selection was quite topical with Drouin winning despite a numerical disadvantage but they were overshadowed by the Nangkita @Dale Duivesteyn side who for unknown reasons elected to play with 13 onfield despite (by my count) 21 players running out in the AFL. http://tooserious.net/forum/stats.p...RUC&salary=0&name=&up_code=&tsLeagueTeamId=73 A quirk of the fixture sees the 8 ORFFF Round 1 winners playing each other in Round 2, while the 8 Round 1 non winners also clash. It will be another Thursday night start and hopefully someone will jump onboard and start a Round 2 thread later on in the week.
