Black Swamp (Round 12, AFL Rd15) Ballard Wilkie O’Connor Hardwick - Long Higgins Viney Daicos Selwood - C Jones McCartin Hayward Schoenberg Daniels - C Brown Ryan - no emg L Fogarty Bont - Sinclair The 29ers have named 3 new players amongst their Round 12 lineup for their clash with Maralinga @Brett Sanders, with midseason draftees Ballard and McCartin joining Preseason draftee Samson Ryan as debutants. Veteran Jack Viney returns after injury in a much changed side. Long and Jones currently sit as ORFFF emergencies but will run out in their AFL colours while Callum’s Sinclair and Brown are 29ers emergencies while named likewise in the AFL. Promising signs are that both Carroll and Hollands are running around in the state leagues along with a few other other project players and the 29ers injury list has a few who may make it back on the park prior to the end of the season Hopefully we can keep strong numbers and find a way to break a 9 game losing streak before the end of the season.
The Virgin's are on 851/10 85.1 and the Power @MrsBear are on 707/8 88.4 The home side has Worpel, Mummy, Phillips, JJK & Naughton to hold on to their lead to the visitors who have Taranto, Bazlinka, Green, Amartey, McKay, Cody W & Howe.
Great to see a high scoring contest. Amartey played Saturday and scored 39 for the Power, which puts the Virgins narrowly in front on average scores. Both teams have named GWS emergency players onfield. Port Lincoln has cover for Tom Green via Dylan Buckley while for the Virgins Liam Ryan can be moved to R2 as out of position cover for Mummy,
That’s tough, while the 29ers appear to have a sub 900 score incoming so there is a fair bit of pain to be felt around the traps.
The Virgin's finish on 1,147/15 76.5 defeated by the Power @MrsBear are on 1,239/15 82.6 A strategic blunder by the home side gifted a very tight match up to the visitors, taken nothing away from the Power, they had back up and a tough defence.
Despite some questionable selections leaving Brodie Smith (97), Angus Brayshaw (85) and George Hewett (102) out of their final 15, Macquarie Island goes above 1400 for the fifth week running to end up on 1426 (95.07) and defeat the Bucks who finish on 1063 (70.87)
Dammit, I just realised I must’ve forgotten to save my lineup this round. I’d changed it all around after AFL teams were announced but looks like I didn’t save it. Ended up with a couple of zeros, despite having 20 players in my squad who played this round.
The top 7 sides all won with Port Lincoln the sole side in the bottom half to taste victory as they rise to 13th position. The Ducks and Woylies have now notched 8 consecutive wins while the Virgins lost their 9th straight and the 29ers their 10th straight. Mole Creek and Jan Juc have officially wrapped up a finals berth for 2021 and it remains a race in 3 for the 8th and final spot while the top 4 as always remains a tough fight.
