    Round 14 – AFL Round 17
    Retro Round:

Round 14 is Retro Round, an entire weekend where we celebrate all the things that made football in the past far better than the current game.

You know the story - huge moustaches, questionable hairdos, tight shorts, standing in the outer in the rain watching games on quagmire grounds in the suburbs, all in brawls and king hits behind the play.

Hmm, on second thoughts, nostalgia ain't what it used to be.

    Gariwerd Cockatoos v Gundagai Grasshoppers
Nareewillock Nuffers v Lovely Banks Lilacs
Venus Bay Vultures v Foul Bay Chickens
Charlies Opening Spelunkers v Wagga Wagga Wombats
Mount Beauty Uglies v Waikikamoocow Incorrigibles
Whitsunday Warriors v Iron Knob Codpieces
Wineglass Bay Packers v Larrikin Lagoon Lefties
Birdsville Battlers v Dunsborough Dung Beetles
Marble Bar Misfits v Cradle Mountain Devils

    Round 15 – AFL Round 18
    Rural Round:

So many great VFL/AFL footballers have arrived in the big leagues from rural and regional Australia. And just as many have remained close to home, becoming closer to myth than flesh and blood human while lighting up country leagues with extraordinary longevity and improbable goalkicking performances.

And while many of our great ORFFA teams showcase players from rural and regional areas, there's a few who might welcome a country-based myth or two into their squads.

    Gundagai Grasshoppers v Nareewillock Nuffers
Gariwerd Cockatoos v Venus Bay Vultures
Lovely Banks Lilacs v Charlies Opening Spelunkers
Foul Bay Chickens v Mount Beauty Uglies
Wagga Wagga Wombats v Whitsunday Warriors
Waikikamoocow Incorrigibles v Wineglass Bay Packers
Iron Knob Codpieces v Birdsville Battlers
Larrikin Lagoon Lefties v Marble Bar Misfits
Dunsborough Dung Beetles v Cradle Mountain Devils

    Round 16 – AFL Round 19
    Fantasy Saviour Round:

With the season nearing its conclusion and so many key games set to decide finals positions, ORFFA coaches everywhere will be looking for a fantasy saviour to stand up, take charge and deliver a sparkling game to ensure victory for their team.

Of course, if enough saviours stand up, everyone will win, everyone will make finals and everyone will take out the flag .... yes?

Might need to re-think this one.

Venus Bay Vultures v Gundagai Grasshoppers
Charlies Opening Spelunkers v Nareewillock Nuffers
Mount Beauty Uglies v Gariwerd Cockatoos
Whitsunday Warriors v Lovely Banks Lilacs
Wineglass Bay Packers v Foul Bay Chickens
Birdsville Battlers v Wagga Wagga Wombats
Marble Bar Misfits v Waikikamoocow Incorrigibles
Cradle Mountain Devils v Iron Knob Codpieces
Dunsborough Dung Beetles v Larrikin Lagoon Lefties

    Round 17 – AFL Round 20
    Phoning it in Round:

As an appropriate follow-up to Fantasy Saviour Round, our last set of home and away games will celebrate those players who threaten fantasy finals spots by simply turning up, going through the late-season motions and notching up a relatively scratchy 40 or 50 fantasy point game.

Of course for some, every round has been Phoning It In Round. For them, Phoning It In Round is the natural precursor to Putting Out The Rubbish off-season. Sounds like fun.

Gundagai Grasshoppers v Charlies Opening Spelunkers
Venus Bay Vultures v Mount Beauty Uglies
    Nareewillock Nuffers v Whitsunday Warriors
Gariwerd Cockatoos v Wineglass Bay Packers
Lovely Banks Lilacs v Birdsville Battlers
Foul Bay Chickens v Marble Bar Misfits
Wagga Wagga Wombats v Cradle Mountain Devils
Waikikamoocow Incorrigibles v Dunsborough Dung Beetles
Iron Knob Codpieces v Larrikin Lagoon Lefties

Clearly no one told the Battlers players they were supposed to wait until Round 17 to phone it in.

My mob are going to try and go retro this week to celebrate Retro Round.

This will entail the Nuffers playing like prime-era Darraweit Guim Dirigibles and bringing back good memories of successful Household Cup match ups against Lovely Banks.

The reality is that Lovely Banks are going to belt the Nuffers I think.

Hope the Nuffers have reception. We don't have phones on the Whitsundays.

Dungbeetles vs Birdsville Battlers is a fixturng dream. Match of the round to see who can break in, or out, of the bottom four!

I'd like to exercise my power as Commish and mandate @snoz play his seconds against me in the last round as an act of mercy

Yeh, it's the Retro Round. Nostalgia - I remember when the cows could field a decent side most weeks. Seems like years ago. Can we have a return to those days, please.

I feel I had that car back in the day, running costs were low, you only had one horses arse in front of you not endless hordes of them and the A/C never needed charging.
    Thems were the dayz

Dunno why Australia doesn't have a car industry. Could build 'em in Birdsville. JC on QC and Len on design (and spreadsheets).

I don’t know when we play mate, but next week the Hoppers will be missing: Powell, Allen, TMcD, Rankine, Grundy, Adams and Oliver. That’s half my starting 15 :(
