    Melbourne Renegades vs Melbourne Stars

Melbourne Stars 167/5 (20/20 ov); Melbourne Renegades 168/2 (18.2/20 ov)

Melbourne Renegades won by 8 wickets

The Stars with their great batting depth batted first and got a solid start thanks to contributions from Wright, Hodge and Dave Hussey. The night however belonged to the unfavoured Renegades who managed to account for the Stars total of 167 easily thanks to an absolutely dominating batting display from Aaron Finch.

Finch got his first T20 century with 111 runs at a strike rate of 170. He even managed to to get an unlikely wicket and a catch in the field to cap of an amazing. Youd be loving his 163pts if you put him as captain. How good a sight was it seeing him smack Warne all over the place? :D

For the Stars, Wright scored 53pts from his batting whilst Hodge got 60pts thanks to his quick 28 and having a catch. Dave Hussey also managed 54pts.

Aaron OBrien for the Renegades was the only bowler with multiple wickets, getting himself 52pt and Ben Rohrer managed a cameo next to Finch getting to 34 and getting the strike rate bonus. It was disappointing from the Stars bowlers, Warne who got a duck with his horrible figures and Faulkner wasnt very tight although he got a wicket.

Legends: Finch, Hodge, Wright, Hussey, Rohrer, OBrien

Bunnies: Warne, Quiney, Rimmington, Nevill, Harris

    Sydney Sixers vs Sydney Thunder

Sydney Thunder 143/5 (20/20 ov); Sydney Sixers 147/3 (18.4/20 ov)

Sydney Sixers won by 7 wickets

The defending champions sent in the Thunder to bat, confident about their ability to chase. The Thunders top order was never settled and tight bowling and wickets to Starc and Feldman slowed the run rate down a lot until late in the innings when keeper Ryan Carters and Sean Abbot opened up.

Despite a duck from the popular Warner (-20pts!), the Sixers comfortably chased down the 147 run target with strong batting displays from Maddinson, Haddin and Smith.

Popular choice for wicketkeeper, Haddin didnt disappoint his owners top scoring for the match with 71pts. Feldman and Starc in grabbing two wickets each managed 60pts and 52pts respectively For the Thunder Abbots innings got him 64pts and Carters managed a solid 57pts whilst unfancied bowler Tremain managed 52pts thanks to his brace of Sixers wickets.

Legends: Haddin, Maddinson, Feldman, Starc, Abbott, Carters, Tremain

Bunnies: Warner, Lee, OKeefe, Guptill, Khawaja

    Brisbane Heat v Hobart Hurricanes

Brisbane Heat 172/6 (20/20 ov); Hobart Hurricanes 175/2 (19/20 ov)

Hobart Hurricanes won by 8 wickets

The Sunday double-header started off with Brisbane batting and despite Watson opening it was the young Joe Burns who starred making 44 of 27 balls whilst Dan Christian managed 44 of 49 to help the Heat to a total of 172 whilst Evan Gulbis got 3 wickets and Michael Hogan managed 2.

Hobart in their chase proved hard to get out (with some luck) and they made the most of it with all four batsmen (Paine, Wells, Birt, Shah) scoring well to win the match with Travis Birt top scoring with 57 runs.

Despite being one of the most expensive players Birt managed 81pts, with Gulbis getting 72pts for his bowling and fielding efforts. Hogans 4-over spell got him 60pts and Shah managed 56pts with the bat.

For Brisbane top scorers Burns and Christian got 64pts and 61pts respectively which were the only decent scores whilst cheaply priced Cutting managed a respectable 38pts

Legends: Birt, Gulbis, Hogan, Shah, Paine, Burns, Christian

Bunnies: Hartley, Pomersbach, Forrest, Bollinger, Styris, Doherty

    Perth Scorchers v Adelaide Striker

Perth Scorchers 162/6 (20/20 ov); Adelaide Strikers 164/4 (19.2/20 ov)

Adelaide Strikers won by 6 wickets

Out West for the last match of the round and Perth confidently went into bat first. In an expected batting paradise they didnt do too well but Shaun Marsh and Adam Voges managed half centuries each to at least make it a competitive total.

The game ended closer than it should have as Adelaide completed a clean sweep of victories for sides bowling first, thanks mostly to Phil Hughes who scored 74 runs of 48 balls.

With a catch and a great strike rate, Hughes amassed a giant 106pts, the second highest score of the round and late-innings belter Nathan Reardon scored 62pts whilst bargain-priced Putland scored 55pts after collecting two wickets and a run out.

For their batting displays Marsh got 57 and Voges a big 94, which was augmented by two catches. A bad night for the bowlers saw Coulter-Nile the best of them for the Scorchers with 46pts.

Legends: Hughes, Reardon, Putland, Voges, Marsh, Coulter-Nile

Bunnies: Triffit, Katich, Beer, Gibbs, Hussey, Ferguson
