Still no Jasmine yet! Lets all hope she has a steady stream of internets to manage her own team though because this week throws up some curious challenges and with the captains loophole, could allow for some nice advantages to the savvy coach.

Now, just to reinterate to you all the captains loophole- with St Kilda playing Brisbane tonight, if we set one of those boys as our vice captain, we get the chance to take a look at their score before deciding on whether we want to keep our actual captain, or name a second- non-playing captain to keep our VC score.

So, well take a look at our VC options first.

Im just gunna take a quick look at the last two years:

    Nick Dal Santo:
    Round 15, 2010: 107SC, 26 disposals.
    Round 9, 2009: 67SC, 19 disposals.

    Goddard:
    Round 15, 2010: DNP
    Round 9, 2009: 84SC, 31 disposals.

    Montagna:
    Round 15, 2010: 114SC, 33 disposals.
    Round 9, 2009: 122SC, 33 disposals.

    Riewoldt:
Round 15, 2010: 62SC, 13 disposals. This was his first game back from *that* injury.
    Round 9, 2009: 115SC, 11 disposals.

Really, a bit of a crapshoot here, Montagna is probably the safest bet, but Goddard and Roo both have the ability to go off. Ah well, lock on of them in as Vice, then we can work it out come Friday.

    Swan v. Essendon

    Round 20, 2010 - 142 SC, 31 disposals.
    Round 5, 2010 - 78 SC, 25 disposals.
    Round 14, 2009 - 107 SC, 30 disposals.
    Round 5, 2009 - 123 SC, 37 disposals.
    Round 3, 2007 - 91 SC, 26 disposals.

Current form: 141, Ave against Essendon in last 3: 109

Notes: Hes the new perma-captain for a reason, and even though his past form against Essendon isnt great, his last match certainly showed he can still turn it on (even though the Bombers were in horrible form)

    Pendlebury v. Essendon

    Round 20, 2010 - 120 SC, 32 disposals.
    Round 5, 2010 - 130 SC, 29 disposals.
    Round 14, 2009 - 68 SC, 20 disposals.
    Round 5, 2009 - 170 SC, 30 disposals.
    Round 3, 2007 - 46 SC, 16 disposals.

    Current form: 129

Notes: While it would take a brave man to pick Pendles over Swan, there is certainly enough here to show that Pendles would be a solid captains choice.

    Judd v. Adelaide

    Round 4, 2010 - 148 SC, 30 disposals.
    Round 22, 2009 - 77 SC, 23 disposals.
    Round 9, 2009 - 66 SC, 19 disposals.
    Round 18, 2008 - 84 SC, 15 disposals.
    Round 6, 2008 - 71 SC, 15 disposals.

Notes: Until last year, Adelaide really had the number of Judd. Probably too much risk for mine.

    Franklin v. Geelong

    Round 15, 2010 - 141 SC, 22 disposals.
    Round 2, 2010 - 83 SC, 16 disposals.
    Round 17, 2009 - 118 SC, 20 disposals.
    Round 1, 2009 - 119 SC, 13 disposals.
    Round 17, 2008 - 105 SC, 13 disposals.

Current form: 133, Ave against Geelong in last 3: 115

Notes: Franklin looks to be a fairly safe pick. He has the formline, and the history to go big, but as with all forwards, they do have the odd 80 to contend with.

    Selwood v. Hawthorn

    Round 15, 2010 - 144 SC, 30 disposals.
    Round 2, 2010 - 95 SC, 22 disposals.
    Round 17, 2009 - 185 SC, 42 disposals.
    Round 1, 2009 - 71 SC, 25 disposals.
    Round 17, 2008 - 138 SC, 31 disposals.

Ave against Hawthorn in last 3: 141

Notes: The numbers definitely look good for Joel, but I reckon you want to lock him in the second time he plays the hawks in a year, not the first time!

    Bartel v. Hawthorn

    Round 15, 2010 - 156 SC, 26 disposals.
    Round 2, 2010 - 128 SC, 29 disposals.
    Round 17, 2009 - 109 SC, 23 disposals.
    Round 1, 2009 - 99 SC, 28 disposals.
    Round 17, 2008 - 153 SC, 36 disposals.

Current form: 114, Ave against Hawthorn in last 3: 131

Notes: If Bartel can keep up his current for against the Hawks, hell make for an excellent captains choice.

So, we get down to my final thought. The numbers are pointing to Bartel, but I cant bring myself to recommend anyone by Swan! :D Swan, Bartel, Franklin.

And just to reinterate- set a St.Kilda VC before lockout! If Goddard knocks up a 150, youll kick yourself if you didnt!
