Well, we finally made it to the end of the bye rounds, only to be met with the news that the AFL is looking at introducing two byes per team next year… please no!
Your friendly donor team scored an average 1707 to close out the byes, which placed us at 29,555 for the week, and makes us now 29,020 for the season. We did climb more than 5000 places in round 13, but we've dropped nearly 4000 places over the space of the byes, somewhat hurt by only having 16 scoring players in round 11. Join me over the break to see all about our round 13 performance, and a more detailed update on our leagues.

As I mentioned, we scored 1707 points in round 13, on the back of 18 scoring players and one scoring emergency who outdid nearly half of our team. Here's the list:

Backmen:
Ibbotson 98
Lester 45
Hanley 42
Webster 25
Midfielders:
Griffen 143 Captain 286
Kennedy 107
Cotchin 86
T Mitchell 84
Goodes 61
Vlastuin 31
Ruckmen:
Cox 115
Naitanui 114
Forwards:
Kennedy 125
Johnson 120
Westhoff 101
Franklin 97
Zorko 91
Rockliff 79

Bench:
Goddard
Heppell
Dixon
Thurlow
Ablett
Pendlebury
Dangerfield
Martin
Nicholls
Currie
Staker 85
Rowe

The obvious one there is Staker, whose 85 points we missed out on due to a full forward line. He did outscore Rockliff, but also outscored a further 6 players in our midfield and backline. Unfortunately we couldn't substitute him back there, as there was no-one to swap him with. Stakers points were the only ones we missed this week, with a maximum of 60 points going begging (swap with Webster), or a less impressive 6 points for a direct swap in the forward line for Rocky.

The good luck story of the round for the donors came in the form of one of our trades. We decided to trade in the 6th highest scoring player of the week, and a huge overall POD in Ryan Griffen, then due to lack of players and a poor performance from JPK we gave him the big C, and he didn't let us down in his donor debut, with a fantastic 143 points! A damn sight better than one of our other trade-in targets, in Birchall, who didn't end up getting a Guernsey.
Rounding out our trades for the byes was the dropping of Macaffer, Crouch, and O'Meara, bringing in the aforementioned Griffen, along with Ibbotson down back and Tom Mitchell in the midfield (along with half of the supercoach coaches!)

In the leagues we had a clean sweep this week, winning both of our public league matches, and our three TS league matches against Orange Whips (League: UCantBeTooSerious), Hawks Gold Member (League: UCantBe TS), and Prestidigitators (TS Donuts).

In UCantBeTooSerious we're now placed 11th with a 6-5 record and only percentage out of the eight. We're 7th in the overall, less than 1000 points away from league leader Sky Valley.

In UCantBe TS we're now placed 4th with a 7-4 record and 2.5 wins off top spot. We're ranked 8th in the overall, 720 points adrift of the top ranked Beer Pirates.

In the TS Donuts we're now placed 2nd with a record of 9-2 and equal on points with the league leaders, but 4% short. In the overall we're way down in 8th spot, again nearly 1000 points behind the top placed Banchang Bullies.

So, there you have it for round 13. Come and join us in the donor forum, and help us shape the final few trades for the year, before we start going into conservation mode and just hoping for no LTI's!
