ORRFA sailing along pretty smoothly. Could be a two-horse race between Goldy & GAJ. So now seems a good time for the Commish to step down, throw open the Tiki Bar and give Chelsea the attention she deserves. All coaches have until Friday night to post nominations here. Voting will then be by secret ballot, i.e., by pm to me. As outgoing Commish I thank everyone for their cooperation and the good spirit shown. And I nominate my two very able deputy dawgs Len and JC for the post, thanking them at the same time for the tower of strength they have been. Autopilot rules!!
Thanks for the vote of confidence, Terry, but I'm afraid I'll have to decline. I have a few commitments at the momentwhich can make my visits to the forumsa bit sporadic. But I second Len's nomination. He would make a mighty fine Commish indeed!
Well that is excellent - not JC's unavailability but that we do not need to vote on the Commish. IMO, it would have been mighty hard to make an informed choice. Touch wood less time pressure in the future will mean we see JC as our leader at some point. But for now - congrats Len. Do we set a term for Len, or do we review annually? If there is a plan to implement change then maybe a two year initial term might be sensible?
Cheers guys, I am happy to stand, that's all it is though Graeme, need to see who else would like a run and a league vote to sanction any new Commish Only comment I would make for good or bad, I am way more radical when I am just poking for fun, I may be too conservative for some of your tastes when I actually have to do stuff

Terms for elected/appointed victims are annual. If nobody stands against them, they usually roll over to the next year, and so on. It was my expectation that Len would continue doing the drafts, whether elected or not, as I really don't think anyone could improve on the job he is doing. That, however, would be up to the new Commissioner.
Firstly, congratulations TiB on a job well done. You have been a rock for our League and we bloody appreciate it. We have it good here in the ORFFA, with many talented people capable of being Commish. Len not only has the skills and wisdom to do the job, but has put in significant time already in his current role, and is also prepared to part with his valuable time to lead the League. [span style='background: #ffffff;] [span style='background: #ffffff;]It seems obvious in this thread that while I could name 16 others capable, the transition to Len would be most seamless at this time.
Thanks to TiB for handing over the ORFFA in fantastic shape in large part due to his leadership, ESPECIALLY during the tumultuous 'Where the F is X' times which is where his leadership shone. Len gets a dream job of zero maintenance ORFFA to step into thanks to his forefather. A gravy train to pad his bank account. Might have to shake things up and cause a scandal ....
I did chuckle at the 'Where the F is X' reference Jim! I'm still a little miffed at X... making me change my name from the official Black Charlie's Opening Spelunkers... but in our change rooms the crest on the wall still says our real club name

Thank you TiB for the fine job you did as our Commish - 'where the F is X' almost started me crying and laughing simultaneously. Time to build the WWW into a team that can challenge for the title. To be a former]ORFFA Commish and an]ORFFA premiership winner would be anunparalleledfeat; one leg down and the real challenge now starts. Congratulations Len and good luck for your 'reign.' I believe our ship is in very good hands and we are fortunate to have had such a smooth hand over.

Many don't know that TiB named my ORFFA team as well. A fine Commish indeed - thank you for all your efforts (not to mention all the squashed grasshopper pictures you post for me)
