Drew Petrie is unlucky to be omitted given that he is averaging 70 for the season which normally in the last couple of seasons would have entrenched a player as a starting forward at Cradle Mountain but we had to get Hopper into the team somehow.

Because I don't trust the system, or myself, Darraweit team to take on the mighty Misfits is listed below: In: Ibbotson, Lyons (sort of), McGovern, Out: Saad (inj), Greenwood (inadequate) D: Rance, Stratton, Jonas, Ibbotson (Gleeson) M: Coniglio, Tyson, Shane Edwards, Lyons (Hill) R: Ceglar F: Walters, Harvey, Westhoff, McGovern (Brown) I/C: Armitage, Newnes (Greenwood) Forwards playing as mids, mids playing as bench players, defenders all injured. McGovern getting a game up forward, which is wonderful - both he and Adams have been pretty good this year.
There is an old saying in farming country - "one week the rooster, next week the feather duster." Last week the question was "who do we leave out?" this week the question is "any chance of entering a full team?" I much preferred last week's "problem." Anyway, the prospects of a decent draft pick without having to trade for it, are looking bright. At the moment it's pretty noisy in the Bulls Hit Tavern. I think the last beer coaster I saw with writing on the back suggested - D - J McGovern, H Taylor, R Harwood, D Howe* (E - A Neal-Bullen) M - D Hannebery, T Mitchell, J McVeigh, M Robinson R - S Jacobs^ F - D Menzel, T McLean*, T Campbell^, C Sinclair^ I/E - B Griffiths, B Williams* * Indicates RS eligible ^ Indicates listed as Ruck; a public service announcement not just for jimbo, but now also for Len and Chris (as per their pm's). Get on board folk, it's free. Best of luck ant - any chance you could tell us where we are playing this week?
"W.Minson (OMG I have a ruck)" But not for long it would appear. Luke Beveridge in his weekly video clip commented with a smile that he thought it was time to tease you and suggested you should keep watching the ^'s; see http://www.westernbulldogs.com.au/news/2016-05-19/minson-in-for-giants-clash
same spot as usual. Have you not played over here before. We'll meet you at the Brambuk backpackers which is always reserved for visiting teams. Drop your things off and we'll show you the way to the ground. See you soon
With the Sunday AFL teams having been finalised Petrie gets a reprieve due to Steele being omitted by GWS. Petrie moves into the Cradle Mountain starting 15 as forward 4 and Daniel McStay is the new forward line emergency. Steele is no longer in the squad of 19, the updated Devils forward line is below: Fwd: D Zorko, S Johnson, B Kennedy, D Petrie (D McStay)
Apparently it is my turn to do the write-up. It'll hopefully appear at some stage tomorrow or, at worst, on Wednesday. In the meantime, Steven May has been ordered to stop tutoring Darraweit's defenders, after his latest student Tom Jonas decided to go out and whack someone on the weekend. As an exercise - Darraweit's defence: Rance - missed two games suspended May - missed 5 suspended Saad - injured, returned, injured again, now missing for 3 Jonas - plays well, wallops someone, should be suspended for 5 Adams - sneaky good draft pick-up, breaks finger, misses 2-3 games. Ibbotson - reflecting Freo's malaise, stuck playing in atrocious conditions and in a backline under siege. Gleeson - plays well, drops off a bit, dropped, returns. Stratton - thank god he's been around.
No worries on the write up mate, when you can is fine. Sounds like you might need to stop modelling your defensive coaching on the dogs!
Review done and done. Steven May threatened to hit me so I had to drop everything and write it post haste.
Great review it was too! Big game this week against our tassie mates and I'm sure @dmandrews will have his boys fired up for this one. Spelunkers starting to fall away in the race... Need a few to lift, or just chuck it in properly so I can get higher in the draft!
