Let's face it, if you love SuperCoach you generally love stats. Since this round has been spread out a bit had a chance to crunch a few numbers on some random useless stats, but they might be interesting. Anyone else please feel free to add whatever they want to this thread. Best Draft Round This will basically just be analysing the draft rounds (eg. Round 1 picks 1-18, Round 2 picks 19-36, etc), because it was easy to run stats on and there are a few surprises. This is for Round 1 of the ORFFL: 1. Round 1 - 2032 points, 18 players, 112.89 average 2. Round 2 - 1747 points, 16 players, 109.19 average 3. Round 7 - 1451 points, 16 players, 90.69 average 4. Round 4 - 1383 points, 16 players, 86.44 average 5. Round 6 - 1348 points, 15 players, 89.93 average 6. Round 5 - 1332 points, 14 players, 95.14 average 7. Round 11 - 1306 points, 17 players, 76.82 average 8. Round 8 - 1288 points, 15 players, 85.87 average 9. Round 3 - 1231 points, 13 players, 94.69 average 10. Round 10 - 1109 points, 15 players, 73.93 average Every first round draft pick played which is a good start, the next most durable round was surprisingly Round 11 - and they even scored pretty well also! Round 3 a bit of a disappointment (no pun intended!) with 5 players missing. Best Player per Draft Round Similar concept, but this will highlight the highest scorer player per draft round. Again, just for Round 1 of the ORFFL. 1. Scott Pendlebury (Tarwin Lower Pigs) - 167 points 2. Paddy Ryder (Purnululu Bungle Rangers) - 165 points 3. Scott Thompson (Poowong Potoroos) - 147 points 4. Jed Adcock (Purnululu Bungle Rangers) - 140 points 5. Brent Stanton (Mount Buggery Disappointments) - 180 points 6. Kieran Jack (Milikipati Snakes) - 134 points 7. Hamish Hartlett (Warburton Wanderers) - 134 points 8. Simon Black (Woy Woy Wizards) - 152 points 9. Tom Liberatore (Purnululu Bungle Rangers) - 111 points 10. Matt Rosa (Jimcumbilly Jackrabbits) - 119 points 11. Taylor Walker (Purnululu Bungle Rangers) - 106 points 12. Luke Dahlhaus (Glenrowan Gunslingers) - 112 points 13. Michael Hibberd (Queenstown Quolls) - 116 points 14. Kurt Tippett (Bonnie Doon Bandits) - 150 points 15. James Podsiadly (Jimcumbilly Jackrabbits) - 104 points 16. Richard Douglas (Torrumbarry Thunda) - 101 points 17. Rhys Palmer (Warburton Wanderers) - 126 points 18. Brodie Smith (Glenrowan Gunslingers) - 76 points 19. John McCarthy (Coulta Couldabeens) - 105 points 20. Kane Cornes (Woy Woy Wizards) - 97 points 21. Courtenay Dempsey (Mallacoota Magicians) - 98 points 22. James Polkinghorne (Purnululu Bungle Rangers) - 109 points 23. Kepler Bradley (Sarah Island Savages) - 77 points 24. Jarryn Geary (Tarwin Lower Pigs) - 84 points 25. Ben Hudson (Jimcumbilly Jackrabbits) - 107 points 26. Brent Reilly (Coulta Couldabeens) - 104 points Not surprisingly Tino has 5 players on the leaderboard after the top score last week. I fully expected this list to be dominated by midfielders, which it is with 14 - but that still seems a little low.
Yeah no worries will rip something up tomorrow. Do you want just the Round 2 stats or the progressive stats.
Best Players - Round 2 1. Scott Pendlebury (Tarwin Lower Pigs) - 294 points 2. Sam Mitchell (Bonnie Doon Bandits) - 280 points 3. Scott Thompson (Poowong Potoroos) - 267 points 4. Jimmy Bartel (Glenrowan Gunslingers) - 230 points 5. Brent Stanton (Mount Buggery Disappointments) - 314 points 6. Shannon Hurn (Glenrowan Gunslingers) - 211 points 7. Alex Rance (Mallacoota Magicians) - 235 points 8. Scott Selwood (Merton Meerkats) - 255 points 9. Lenny Hayes (Popanyinning Pyrite) - 205 points 10. Tom Hawkins (Poowong Potoroos) - 236 points 11. Taylor Walker (Purnululu Bungle Rangers) - 208 points 12. Jarrad Waite (Sarah Island Savages) - 199 points 13. Brad Ebert (Coulta Couldabeens) - 213 points 14. Kurt Tippett (Bonnie Doon Bandits) - 232 points 15. James Podsiadly (Jimcumbilly Jackrabbits) - 212 points 16. Ed Curnow (Queenstown Quolls) - 183 points 17. Brendan Whitecross (Mallacoota Magicians) - 231 points 18. Brodie Smith (Glenrowan Gunslingers) - 144 points 19. David Armitage (Glenrowan Gunslingers) - 181 points 20. Kane Cornes (Woy Woy Wizards) - 183 points 21. Courtenay Dempsey (Mallacoota Magicians) - 209 points 22. Craig Bird (Woy Woy Wizards) - 196 points 23. Josh Hill (Mallacoota Magicians) - 176 points 24. Jarryn Geary (Tarwin Lower Pigs) - 183 points 25. Chad Cornes (Warburton Wanderers) - 225 points 26. Brent Reilly (Coulta Couldabeens) - 218 points I've highlighted the changes in bold. Funnily enough the first player SCSS gets on the leaderboard isn't a Tiger! That reminds me, might need to organise a trade with him...my Tigers are flying!
Woah Hornsy!!!! Have a look at the best pick in Round 10 on that list....hate to say I told you so haha ;P BTW, given that the Savages are second in points for but only on this list once, I'm guessing you must have the second or third best player picked in each round???
You know it would help our organisation out a great deal if you kept these thoughts in-house. And no, the irony of me telling you this is not lost on me.
Best Players - Round 3 1. Gary Ablett Jnr (Poowong Potoroos) - 464 points 2. Paddy Ryder (Purnululu Bungle Rangers) - 391 points 3. Jobe Watson (Queenstown Quolls) - 388 points 4. Brent Harvey (Bonnie Doon Bandits) - 334 points 5. Brent Stanton (Mount Buggery Disappointments) - 407 points 6. Shannon Hurn (Glenrowan Gunslingers) - 311 points 7. Callan Ward (Mount Buggery Disappointments) - 352 points 8. Scott Selwood (Merton Meerkats) - 404 points 9. Lenny Hayes (Popanyinning Pyrite) - 329 points 10. Tom Hawkins (Poowong Potoroos) - 314 points 11. Tendai Mzungu (Poowong Potoroos) - 307 points 12. Shaun Grigg (Merton Meerkats) - 331 points 13. Chris Masten (Bonnie Doon Bandits) - 339 points 14. Kurt Tippett (Bonnie Doon Bandits) - 360 points 15. James Podsiadly (Jimcumbilly Jackrabbits) - 301 points 16. Shane Tuck (Merton Meerkats) - 315 points 17. Brendan Whitecross (Mallacoota Magicians) - 330 points 18. Ashley Smith (Milikipati Snakes) - 199 points 19. David Armitage (Glenrowan Gunslingers) - 300 points 20. Kane Cornes (Woy Woy Wizards) - 288 points 21. Michael Firrito (Glenrowan Gunslingers) - 296 points 22. Aaron Edwards (Tarwin Lower Pigs) - 318 points 23. Josh Hill (Mallacoota Magicians) - 254 points 24. Jarryn Geary (Tarwin Lower Pigs) - 278 points 25. Chad Cornes (Warburton Wanderers) - 315 points 26. Sean Dempster (Torrumbarry Thunda) - 291 points SKT will be happy his boy Sean Dempster made the list. The only Savage got pushed out this round, so while they are at the top of the ladder they have no representatives here, and we all know what's more important. Interestingly Round 18 is obviously cursed, not only are they clearly on the lowest points, they have actually had the lowest scorer in each of the 3 rounds so far!
Great stats kash. GAJ takes over as number 1. Think he might be there for a while. Meanwhile, Edwards and Geary are proving valuable low draft picks for the Pigs.
Best Defense Award Milikipati Snakes - 1160 points 1. Brett Deledio - 353 points 2. Grant Birchall - 287 points 3. Paul Duffield - 262 points 4. Marty Clarke / Nick Smith - 258 points Even with Duffield & Birchall sub vests, Johnson comes through with the chocolates. He strategically chose Deledio in the draft when Goddard was available, and while Goddard is still leading Deledio is close behind with daylight between him and the 3rd. Marty Clarke has returned to his old form, and Nick Smith been injected into a new role at Sydney all positives for the Snakes. Runner Up: Sarah Island Savages - 1127 points Best Midfield Award Poowong Potooros - 1361 Points 1. Gary Ablett Jr - 464 points 2. Scott Thompson - 357 points 3. Brad Sewell - 233 points 4. Tendai Mzungu - 108 points To quote Hornsy, "Gary Ablett." The perma-captain champion is at his devastating best, already 50 points clear of the competition. Thankfully we don't have to name captains in this competition, otherwise Jason might be at the top of the ladder! Scott Thompson is continuing on from last year, with Adelaide's improvement and a relatively soft first half draw helping along with that. Mzungu has been a great pickup, with the mature age rookie consistently pumping out good scores in only his 2nd year. Runner Up: Popanyinning Pyrite - 1271 points Best Forwards Award Mallacoota Magicians - 1079 points 1. Nathan Fyfe - 228 points 2. Stewart Crameri - 320 points 3/4. Harley Bennell / Brendan Whitecross / Josh Hill - 531 points Nathan Fyfe hurt SuperCoachers around Australia this week with his injury, but none more so than the Magicians coach. With a diagnosis still yet unknown, we are fearing the worst down at Magic Land. Crameri and Whitecross have had stellar starts to the year (with the latter in the starting 13 at the expense of Danny Stanley), and Hill has benefited from the Demons and Giants back to back. Runner Up: Warburton Wanderers - 1045 points Best Ruck Award Purnululu Bungle Rangers - 391 points 1. Paddy Ryder - 391 points Paddy Ryder is flying early, starting with a massive 165 in round 1. Will he be able to keep it up for the whole season? I still wonder why he wasn't ruck/forward MPP, but even without it coaches need to stand up and take notice of his performances. Runner Up: Woy Woy Wizards - 372 points (Aaron Sandilands) Special Mention: Best Interchange goes to the Meerkats, but it's not really fair since he is playing his 2 best players (Cotchin & S. Selwood) there every week. Boooo!
Maybe. I think the Gravel Pit down at Queenstown is pretty cool. Here's a promotional video BB sent me: [embed]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MOG255GTE8g[/embed]
Gotta admit that Goodes v Fyfe debate isn't looking great for either of us at the moment. Fight Goodesy, don't cop this AFL toning down the physicality of the game!
