FINAL TEAM: Defenders: Newman, R. Murphy, O'Brien, L. Henderson Mids: Hodge, Armitage, Scully, Corey Forwards: Franklin, N. Riewoldt, Didak, C Cornes Ruck: Jolly Interchange: Cooney, K Cornes Listed: Q. Lynch, C. Wood, Pears, Tape, Lester, L. Jones, T. Lynch (GCS), Crowley, Daw, Fyfe, Ball.
Captain Hodge is out for our inaugural clash against the Nungas. He'll be up in the crowd with fellow injured stars Nat Fyfe and Luke Ball. Vice Captain Nick Riewoldt will step into the Captaincy - a fine leader in his own right. Joining the Blonde Bomber up forward is the People's Champion Lance Buddy Franklin, THE CHAD Cornes and Dids Didak. Has to be the most character filled and exciting forward line in modern history. Filling in admirably in the ruck for Jolly is Cam THE BEAK Wood, go hard son. The midfield without Hodge is powered by youth and experience - Scully, Corey, Cooney, Armitage, Crowley and Kane Cornes. The backs are manned by a fierce-some group of Newman, Harry O, Bob Murphy and Lachie Henderson. The Packers exude leadership - Hodge, Riewoldt, Ball, Newman. We have great mix of experience and youth. Fyfe will return next season to his post as one of the most exciting young forwards in the AFL. Majak Daw is sitting studiously under the tutelige of Jolly. Tape, Lynch, Pears, L. Jones and Lester are young developing KPP's. The big QBALL is a valuable backup. Crowley the designated tagger. A tough, hard yet talented mix, even with the injuries. Here's to a great round 1.
Green Bay, Terence. Little town in Wisconsin with a population of 110 000 which sells out a stadium of 70 odd thousand every week. See 'cheesehead'. As you can probably tell, PR, I have a Green Bay affinity myself.

You think maybe I was firing one across the bows for pinching someone elses logo? Cheesehead indeed. Next you'll be telling me who Frank Packer is. .

Then it's true what they say about the end of the world. Mind you, it could be worse. He could be an engineer. Then we would really be stuffed.
I meant me not him Mr. Smarty Britches. Just shows that decadent lifestyle on the Whitsundays is no good for you. Too may little cocktail umbrellas, for mine.
No umbrellas or cocktails for your lot come R6. Hope they enjoy sleeping on the beach. Should toughen them up. (Sorry for airing our dirty laundry in your comfy little thread P'rap).

Crowley: 70 TOTAL: 1239 The donut hurt, as did Henderson. Didak and Kane Cornes DE%'s hurt as well. Can forsee at least 50-100ppg more out of this bunch. Hit the ice baths boys, training tomorrow morning at 6am at the back paddock, then talking strategy in the shearing shed at 10am.
Joel Corey has accepted a $900 fine for giving an umpire 'the bird'. Interestingly 'the bird' originated from the Djab wurrung tribe who inhabit Gariwerd. Bunjil the Eagle created Gariwerd then pissed off into the sky and became a star. The tribesmen left behind were't happy about this so the 'one finger salute' became known as 'the bird' on that very day.
In that case the Tribunal should review the fine imposed on Corey. Being indigenous week he was obviously only following a long-held local custom, demonstrating solidarity with the brothers (not, the Cornes brothers).

It was a decision of the FIXture Committee that the whole season, ie every round, would acknowledge and respect the country this game is played on and the contribution of Indigenous people(s) to it. And we also do have one round specifically celebrating NAIDOC week later in the year.
Well that was a long night down at the Four Posts Pub in Jarklin. There was plenty to mull over as the team was constructed - Hodge and Cooney still unavailable on top of the usual Fyfe/Ball. INS: Darren Jolly, Ryan Lester, Thomas Lynch, Liam Jones. OUTS: Cooney, Henderson, Wood, Crowley. Wood is stiff (generally) but with just the one ruck spot he can have a seat and enjoy a pie, with Jolly being the obvious choice now that he has recovered. Crowley is locked in as the season long emergency after the Coondog debacle of last weekend - an interchange player dropping out pre-game and not having a replacement. Lynch has been elevated after a great game last weekend in the 2's. Jones will man CHF, with Buddy playing FF and Riewold up and down the forwardline/wings/backline like a nights bridie. Dids is in the guts but will swing forward and interchange with THE CHAD. Lester, time to step up young son and secure a spot down back. Henderson dropped due to undisclosed reasons. Peace.
