<p style='background-color: white;]After his incredible achievements of last season, it's perhaps unsurprising to see Brisbane midfielder/forward Tom Rockliff currently topping the AFL fantasy rankings. The 24-year old hasn't just been leading the rankings, he's been the stand-out player in terms of fantasy points this season. With the current campaign reaching its mid-point, Rockliff finds himself on a mammoth 127.4 points per game; 10.1 points ahead of nearest rival Dayne Beams. Even more impressive than his current points total is the fact Rockliff has been averaging 147 points over the past five games, even racking up a colossal average of 153 points during his last three outings.

<p style='background-color: white;]While Rockliff's superb form this season has come as a shock to many AFL fans, fans to fantasy football will perhaps be less surprised by the Brisbane star's raise to the top of the fantasy rankings, in spite of the fact the club have been all but written off by bet365 fans.

<p style='background-color: white;]Rockliff first came to the attention of fantasy fans back in 2011 when he finished with an impressive average of 112 for the year playing in the Brisbane midfield. The youngster had the eighth most disposals in the AFL that season, and his consistent kicking and hard running had him firmly singled out as a fantasy star of the future. Rockliff's 2012 season was a different story, however, with the South Australian used more as a forward that year, resulting in fantasy fans losing out as his average dropped significantly to 93.

<p style='background-color: white;]Despite that disappointing season, 2013 saw Rockliff return to his place as one of fantasy fans must-have picks in his fantasy figures; finishing the season with a useful average of 103 in spite of his continued role as a forward for much of the year. With the 2014 season approaching, however, it was announced that he would lose forward eligibility with the fantasy selections - with many fans again choosing to overlook one of the league's most prolific players.

<p style='background-color: white;]Rockliff's slip in ranking averages during 2012 and 2013 wasn't a surprise to everyone. After playing the majority of the 2013 season in the Brisbane midfield, Rockliff was only used as a forward in a stretch of games between rounds eight and 15. This run of games aside, his average would have been a huge114, putting him among the top midfielders in the country in terms of fantasy points. Combined with the retirement of Lions midfielder Simon Black, the improvement of forwards such as Josh Green and Marco Paparone, as well as Rockliff's promotion to the vice-captaincy, it was inevitable the Brisbane star would soon be made a permanent move to the midfield and call time on his life as a forward.

<p style='background-color: white;]With the 2014 season now reaching the halfway point, Rockliff has played almost exclusivelyin the Brisbane midfield, and with four 140+ scores to his name already this year, including two over 150, even Rockliff's biggest fans couldn't have claimed to have expected him to achieve those sort of figures. While Brisbane's form has been decidedly sketchy so far this year, Rockliff has continued to produce the goods on a regular basis and it remains to be seen just where the rest of the season will take him.
Rockliff continues to top fantasy rankings
