Cradle Mountain’s Round 16 (ORFFA) team In: D Petrie, T Nankervis Out: T Boyd (omitted), J Redden (shoulder) Def: N Vlastuin, L Spurr, J Lever, S Gilbert (N Smith) Mid: S Pendlebury, S Grigg, D Zaharakis, J Gresham (B Kennedy) Ruc: J Roughead Fwd: D Zorko, S Johnson, T Membrey, D Petrie (J Walker) Inter: T Nankervis, H Himmelberg (T Boyd) After getting a ton in the Tasmanian Regional Football League last round Drew Petrie has been recalled to the ORFFA by the Devils. Toby Nankervis is the other inclusion, providing Jordan Roughead with some support in the ruck. Amazingly in his first season as a ruckman Roughead has played all 15 games in the ruck, this is the first time he has shared the ruck duties for Cradle Mountain.
The run home: Foul Bay, 1st, 56 pts, v Whitsunday, @Larrikin Lagoon, highest poss: 1, lowest poss: 2, expected finish = 1st massive game in the final round which could decide top spot, but foul bay is in the box seat with a huge amount of points for Larrikin Lagoon, 2nd, 52 pts, v Iron Knob, v Foul Bay, highest poss: 1, lowest poss: 3, expected finish = 2nd doing a fine job of defending their flag thus far and has two tough games to finish, but both at home Iron Knob, 3rd, 44 pts, @ Larrikin Lagoon, v Mount Beauty, highest poss: 2, lowest poss: 4, expected finish = 4th also has 2 tough games to finish, but this team is used to being up near the top of the ladder and they cannot slip out of top 4. Mount Beauty, 4th, 40 pts, v Waikikamoocow, @ Iron Knob, highest poss: 3, lowest poss: 8, expected finish = 3rd is guaranteed to make the finals being more than a game clear of the logjam of teams on 32 points Venus Bay, 5th, 32 pts, v Cradle Mountain, v Wagga Wagga, highest poss: 4, lowest poss: 12, expected finish = 5th the final round could decide which mate plays finals, but with both games at home and a great points for, vultures should be safe Darraweit Guim, 6th, 32 pts, @ Wagga Wagga, @ Wineglass Bay, highest poss: 4, lowest poss: 12, expected finish = 6th will have a good idea after this week with a big game against fellow 32 pointer wagga wagga Gariwerd, 7th, 32 pts, v Wineglass Bay, @ Marble Bar, highest poss: 4, lowest poss: 12, expected finish = 7th chris has suggested gariwerd have a good draw to finish, however they still need to win to make their first finals series Wagga Wagga, 8th, 32 pts, v Darraweit Guim, @ Venus Bay, highest poss: 4, lowest poss: 12, expected finish = 10th has a good opportunity to significantly influence the top 8, with both their remaining games against teams also currently on 32 points Waikikamoocow, 9th, 32 pts, @ Mount Beauty, @ Birdsville, highest poss: 4, lowest poss: 12, expected finish = 11th in a lot of trouble with their injuries at present and on a road trip for the rest of the season. win in round 17 and they may finish 8th Birdsville, 10th, 32 pts, @ Marble Bar, v Waikikamoocow, highest poss: 4, lowest poss: 12, expected finish = 8th the final round's game against waikikamoocow will probably be for 8th. if they lose they will rue the 4 point loss against gariwerd last start Charlies Opening, 11th, 26 pts, @ Lovely Banks, v Whitsunday, highest poss: 7, lowest poss: 15, expected finish = 9th 2 winnable games. its actually quite possible that 3 teams above them will all lose both games to allow them to sneak into the 8! Cradle Mountain, 12th, 24 pts, @ Venus Bay, v Nunawading, highest poss: 7, lowest poss: 16, expected finish = 12th still a mathematical chance to make the 8, but highly unlikely with a lot of results needing to go the right way for them Whitsunday, 13th, 24 pts, @ Foul Bay, @ Charlies Opening, highest poss: 7, lowest poss: 16, expected finish = 14th travelling both games to finish the season, with the almighty chickens first up. season is over.

The Cows limp into Mt Beauty as part of their goodwill tour of beautiful parts of the mainland. Possibly even weaker than last week. Don't be surprised if we try to play 10 a side. Hope bama can point us towards a decent pub for some pre-game entertainment. In a desperate move I have texted Melbandy for details of any massage facilities in Mt Beauty that might be able to provide relief for our walking wounded. D - J McGovern, H Taylor, J McVeigh M - D Hannebery, T Mitchell, B Crouch, N Graham R - S Jacobs F - M Robinson, T Papley, D Menzel, I - J Dunkley*, R O'Brien In - R O'Brien who, if he plays, will be the first player with a surname starting with O to feature for the Cows Out - B Griffiths (groin)

Thanks for the run home write-up Anthony. Kevin Bartlett has commented "A lot would need to go right for the Devils to finish in the top eight and qualify for the 2016 ORFFA finals." The Devils would have to win their last two games and then have a lot of results go their away including several teams not turning up to a game to allow the points for deficit to be bridged. I expect the mathematical chance of the Devils making the finals to be comfortably extinguished by the Venus Bay Vultures this weekend. Set to be an exciting conclusion to the ORFFA home and away season with several finals spots still up for the grabs.
Thanks for the rundown, @anthak . The Battlers cast our lot when we traded Wells and Murphy mid year , so we have no expectations for this year. And if Marble Bar want to compare shit fwd lines, they might have met their match this weekend!
Wow, we couldn't have scripted this any better. @Fitzy and @Lenny120 facing off in the final round for 8th spot!
First, a big thank you to @walesy for all he has done and still does for ORFFA. 869, big Sauce down. Played with 12 men this week, maybe less next week. There is a strong rumour that the membership may depose graeme and bring back chels. It may be futile, but at least it is something. #bringbackchels Well done bama, thank you for not gloating - a very gracious host.
