In the battle of the mountains the Cradle Mountain Devils are well placed to have an upset win over one of the three ChiefBet joint premiership favourites – the Mount Beauty Uglies. Cradle Mountain have scored 1,224 from 14 players for an average of 87.4 with defender Spurr to play. Mount Beauty are 774/10 for an average of 77.4, being hurt by two named forwards not taking their place in the MBU side – Nick Riewoldt and Whitecross, forward emergency Daniel Rioli scored 57, however the second forward withdrawal led to a very costly donut. Mount Beauty have got four Demons to play comprised of one player for each of the on-field lines, Salem, Viney, Gawn and Petracca, as well as Port defender Hartlett. The Devils have six tons led by Nankervis (124) and their ever reliable captain Pendelbury (120). The only CMD line that hasn’t scored a ton is defense however Spurr has a chance to rectify this and was the only Devils defender to ton up in Round 1 with 110. All three Mount Beauty centuries have been from their midfield - Cotchin (135), Martin (118) and Priddis (110). Gawn and Viney are likely to score tons tomorrow, however Mount Beauty will also need big games from Hartlett, Salem and Petracca in order to get a fight back victory.
a slightly improved showing from the Cows as we managed to field 14.5 players this week; but unlikely to be enough to defeat the forces of darkness that lurk among Banditto's Spelunkers.
