    To those who are not yet aware, it is official that Sandilands will miss four weeks:

    http://www.fremantlefc.com.au/news/newsarticle/
    tabid/7009/newsid/114556/default.aspx

    (had to break that up so that the text worked properly...)

    This means that anyone with sex on the beach will now just be having regular sex!!! Quite possibly with a guy with a very common name!

    I'm assuming there's a few coaches with Petrie to save their bacon, but to those of us who are now stuck with Cox and Smith and some guy who hasn't yet played, I pose this question:

    Considering Sandi is out for 4, plus 1 week with the bye, is it worth trading him?

    Well- with Petrie and Smith I'm happy to wait a month.

    That said, What would we call Cox and Mummy?

    This is exactly the reason I was prepared to have money sitting on the pine right from the start with Goldstein - he's already repaid my faith by providing good cover during Cox & Sandi's byes, plus when I gambled on starting him ahead of Cox in R8 it paid off - now it looks like I should have an advantage over some opponents without having to burn a trade!!!

    I probably won't trade him because overall is now out of reach and he will be fine for finals. Does put a spanner in the works though as I was considering Bailey for Smith later on. Probably going to stick with Smith now.

    As for sandi im not sure what to do with him.
    Trade? Bringing Smith off the bench loses me an average of 40 points a week.
    Tough one.

    @Banz
    This is my concern - that it'll end up being until after the multi-bye when Sandi returns, and I'm not sure I can wait that long (especially since Cox has the bye before then)

    Most were saying to jump off Watson after his injury because of the amount of games missed, and that his effective average will only be around 80ppg, I'm feeling the same way about Sandi right now...

    So, is it time for the MILF and some cash? Or do you wait a couple of weeks to see if Sandi will be back in four?

    The only comforting thing about this is that everyone pretty much has Sandi

    Something I haven't seen mentioned yet, what effect is this going to have on Mundy's scores? I haven't seen a single Freo game all year so this is really a question of ignorance, but is he the type who can win his own ball without the big man feeding him?

    He might not play this week either. Generally he finds the footy himself, is affective and wins contested balls. However without a doubt the big man has an influence on that. He'll still get the scores, maybe just don't put him as captain.

    I was one of those suggesting to jump off Watson due to his effective average dropping. In the mids there are plenty of replacements around the same average and salary. Not so in the rucks especially if you don't like Mummy, Ottens etc. So it's slightly different. (I'm one of the few without Sandi BTW.)
    @Midge
    Re the effect on Mundy. Last week my son came up with the theory that Swan's poor scoring is due to the absence of Jolly. A quick stats check was inconclusive but worth keeping an eye on it.

    If Sandi is indeed back in 4 then I am happy to keep him on the bench mainly because I had a plan to upgrade these upcoming weeks and trades will be very tight afterwards. Also with Smith going well at the moment he should be able to provide substantial cover.

    If it's 4 then I'll hold. If longer then a decision needs to be made.
    The problem is though I reckon if you trade him out, he needs to come back in when he's good - league or overall.

    This will change a lot of peoples trading plans me thinks.

    If I hold him and he's out until the bye or at least rnd 15 then my hand may need to be pushed.

    Smith - provides cover not substantial cover IMPO.

    That said, yes it does mean some bold choices may need to be made.
