A couple of notable wins for teams lower on the ladder which have broken long losing streaks were among the highlights of Round 12 action in the ORFFA.

Powlett Plains 1054 d Marble Bar 1053
Andrew Carrazzo and Luke Ball have clinched a memorable win for a 13-man Packers' outfit, doing just enough to see them scrape home by the thinnest of margins over Marble Bar.
The win breaks a long losing streak for the Packers, and is notable given the team was down two players due to injuries and other absences.
Youngster James Aish was the star, top-scoring for the Packers with 120 points and continuing to underline his potential. Aish was the only Packer to break 100, however 10 others scored 70 or more - led by Blicavs (94), Miles (92) and Ball (86).
Starting the last game 150 points behind, Ball and Carrazzo (65) did just enough to get the Packers home.
For Marble Bar, Ryder (114), Smith (111) and (as always) Ward (110) put in great efforts. But a few too many low scores, as well as a late game injury to defender Dean Terlich (22) proved costly.

Gundagai 1194 d Nunawading 1164
Nuffers coach Andy's pre-match concerns were justified, with his Nunawading team unable to stave off the Grasshoppers on the weekend.
The win - Gundagai's first for the year - came on the back of a very consistent team effort led by young ruckman Jarrod Witts (135).
Witts and the erstwhile Rockliff (126) set the tone for the Hoppers, who also got 120 points from young Lewis Taylor and useful contributions from Curnow, Stringer, Neale and Dwyer.
For Nunawading, Josh Kennedy ran rampant through the midfield for 130 points, while Charlie Dixon (114) and Jaeger O'Meara (112) contributed well in trying conditions. Matthew Broadbent scored 101.
However a late game shocker from Dale Thomas (40) provided Gundagai with the breathing space it needed for the win.

Charlie's Opening 1437 d Lovely Banks 1290
In a high-scoring, free flowing game, Charlie's Opening firmed up its position in the Top 8 with a 147-point win over Lovely Banks.
After a slow start (Hooker 14 OOP in the ruck), everything seemed to go right for the Spelunkers, who enjoyed a career performance from Eric MacKenzie (113) in defence as a late call-up for Lachie Hansen, and stunning team debut for Marcus Bontempelli - who mesmerised the Lilacs' defence to score 129.
Hill (146), Swallow (134), Jack (117) and Montagna (103) provided a massive midfield boost, while Mackie scored 104 in defence.
After a rough couple of weeks for scoring, the Lilacs bounced back well but simply couldn't keep up with their opponents.
Thompson (137) led a late surge which included good scores from Grimes (112), mid-year draftee Matty White (101) and Swan (90). Edwards and Ballantyne (94 and 87) did well up forward for Lovely Banks, who still cling to eighth place on the ORFFA ladder.

Waikikamoocow 1403 d Mt Beauty 1318
A series of stunning individual performances from players of both sides highlighted the Waikiks' 85-point win over a feisty Mt Beauty line-up.
Last week Harley Bennell led the Uglies to a great win, and while he was quieter (76 points) this week, his teammates came to the party. Steele Sidebottom marked his return with a massive 178 points, while Trent Cotchin showed his goalkicking prowess on the way to 168.
Boyd, Ellis and Martin all cracked the ton while Max Gawn (72) continues to fill in manfully in the ruck.
However Waikikamoocow more than matched these giant scores, with big Sam Jacobs (163) leading the way in the ruck.
Fyfe (158), Dal Santo (139), Duffield (132) and Isaac Smith (122) churned out huge scores, more than covering for a down performance from Pods (48) and an injury-affected 17 for Jamie Elliott.
Waikikamoocow sit in third, heading a list of four teams with 9-3 records.

Iron Knob 1463 d Larrikin Lagoon 1158
Iron Knob continues on its merry way, remaining undefeated with a 305-point win over the Lefties.
Eight Codpieces hit 100+ points, led not by Gary Ablett (though his 157 was pretty handy), but by Pearce Hanley (160) in defence.
Ruckmen Goldstein and Minson (122 and 112) scored well, while Hodge's 114 in defence was matched by Nathan Jones in the middle.
The fact that only two players scored below 70 for the Codpieces highlights how well they are travelling at the moment.
For the Lefties, Jordon Lewis (142) continued a fine 2014,while Matt Priddis again scored well (110). Nick Suban's 93 off the bench was a boost, while Conca and Hale (both 88) were more than useful.
However the Lagoon has been stung badly by Angus Monfries' drop off in form (30), while quality young player Taylor Dureya (17) was treated harshly by the subs vest.

Foul Bay 1304 d Whitsundays 1103
Foul Bay bounced back to the winners list with a well-rounded 201-point win over the Warriors.
Foul Bay's Kardinia Park contingent led the way to establish an early lead for the reigning premiers, with Selwood (138), Bartel (123) and Hawkins (98) doing the job.
Dangerfield, Judd and Dahlhaus also scored centuries - though concerns may arise in defence after the Chickens' lost their second Shaw to injury in two weeks - Heath (24) subbed off after a shocking collision.
For the Warriors, Sam Gibson celebrated a new contract with 128 points to top-score. Warriors midfielders Sloane (120), Barlow (111), Boak (109) and Wines (106) also scored well.
Unfortunately the late withdrawal of Tutt pressed Whitsundays' Aaron Black (36) into unexpected action, and some key absences up back continue to hobble the Warriors' scoring - something they'll been keen to remedy in coming weeks.

Wagga Wagga 1307 d Birdsville/Browny 1012
Wagga Wagga spoiled the Battlers' Jono Brown farewell and team renaming, drawing away to a comfortable win on the back of Nick Malceski (138) and Lance Franklin (137).
David Swallow was the only other centurion (127) for the Wombats, who enjoyed a remarkably balanced scoring attack. Shiel, Cox and Thomas all scored more than 90 points - a good sign as the team continues to work for a Top 4 berth.
Birdsville was unable to tap the emotion from Browny's retirement - some may have been a little overawed by the occasion in fact.
Adam Treloar's 100 was the team's top score, while Enright, Patfull and Ebert all scored 80+.

Darraweit Guim 1226 d Venus Bay 1122
The Dirigibles made it two in a row, defeating the Vultures by 104 points in a game that never reached any great heights.
A series of underperforming players saw the unlikely figures of Kane Cornes (104) and Alex Rance (102) lead the scoring for Darraweit. Brendan Goddard (101) and Big Ivan (96) gave great support from the bench, as did James Frawley (91) up back.
The fact that Eddie Betts' 98 was left on the emergency list despite it being enough to outscore every playing Darraweit forward probably goes a long way to summing up the game.
For the Vultures, it was a pair of forwards that led the scoring - Jumping Jeremy (118) and Luke Parker (116) picking up the top votes in the Les W with a couple of fine performances.
Dayne Beams (108) led a late charge which fell a touch short, while David Mundy scored 101 in the midfield.
Billy Longer's 94 in the ruck remains very encouraging.

Cradle Mountain 1363 d Gariwerd 1054
The Devils' vaunted midfield was again to the fore on the weekend, helping them bounce back from last week's loss and leading them to a comfortable win over Gariwerd.
Pendlebury (131), Heppell (115), Stevie J (114) and Redden (93) all contributed, with great service provided by Jamar (131) in the ruck.
Dayne Zorko tallied 128 up forward, with the reliable Nick Smith (94) enjoying life in defence. Shiels (93) and Zaharakis (98) were solid off the bench.
Gariwerd continue to welcome back injured players, but things just didn't quite mesh for them this weekend. Deledio's 116 marking a long overdue return to form, while Koby Stevens played very well for 95 in the middle.
Robbie Gray (89) and Trent McKenzie (82) were the next best scorers.
