    Iron Knob 1354 d Waikikamoocow 1201
The Codpieces dispose of another challenger in impressive fashion, defeating the Incorrigibles by 153 points.
The Little Master GAJ was at his absolute best for Iron Knob, 178 points and another three Les W votes. Griffin (140), Douglas (128) and Hanley (113) scored well also. Frighteningly, many of the Codpieces players had slightly down weeks.
Meanwhile, the Waikiks' Dan Hannebery ran amok for 145 points, Isaac Smith scored 118 off the bench and Brent Staker continued his fine form with 114. Coach Chels has been critical of his side in some after-match comments - with a number of disappointing performances from established players likely to be highlighted.

    Whitsundays 1136 d Gundagai 1105
A giant case of influenza has given Gundagai a giant headache and thwarted a chance at its first win for the year; the Grasshoppers going down to Whitsundays by 31 points.
In a game that went down to the wire, Gundagai were unable to call on ruckman Aaron Sandilands, who was a late withdrawal with the flu. The Warriors took advantage of his absence - ruckman Matthew Lobbe notching 127 points before Josh Kennedy (128) did enough to seal the win late in the piece.
Gundagai were again well served by Tom Rockliff (128) and Sam Dwyer (115). Van Berlo (95) and Hayes (91) also played well.
Apart from Lobbe and Kennedy, Michael Barlow and Rory Sloane (104 and 97 respectively) shone for the Warriors.

    Gariwerd 1283 d Wagga Wagga 1252
Inspired by late game heroics from Chris Masten, the Cockies stormed home to upset the Wombats by 31 points.
Wagga Wagga had bounded (do wombats bound? No ... trundle perhaps) to a handy lead early in the match, with Dayne Beams (134) and Scott D Thompson (126) among the points. Handy contributions from Bastinac, Shiel and Prestia in the middle also helped.
Gariwerd were able to stay in touch with Wagga Wagga due in no small part to new recruit Nick Dal Santo (159). He, Cooney (141), Robbie Gray (107) and Col Sylvia (103) scored well, with Masten's late-game 129 proving the difference.
The win was all the more meritorious considering the Cockies played with virtually no ruckman throughout the match.

    Darraweit Guim 1447 d Foul Bay 1253
Darraweit Guim scored its highest total for the year at just the right time, defeating Foul Bay by 194 points in a minor upset.
The Guim enjoyed a consistent effort, with only Nathan Foley (a sub-affected 22) scoring below 70 points. Mid-season recruit Justin Westhoff returned from suspension to score 152, while Alex Rance notched 147 in defence. McKenzie, Walker, Maric and Edwards also topped the ton.
For Foul Bay, the absences of Pavlich and Dangerfield proved costly - though coach ChiefRussell used his post-match comments to highlight the struggles of those who did take the field as an issue.
Selwood worked his guts out for 137 points, while Liberatore (120) was also very good. Josh Thomas' 103 off the bench was also a big bright spot for the Chickens.

    Powlett Plains 1124 d Venus Bay 1076
Powlett Plains survived a late comeback from a fast-finishing Venus Bay, holding on for a 48-point win.
The Packers were led by Nick Riewoldt (134), with able support from Hodge (110), Henderson (110) and Melksham (113).
Importantly, defenders Chaplin, Rutten and Newman (76, 66 and 75 respectively) stood tall late in the game to help stifle a Vultures' comeback led by Gaff (98), Parker (80) and Mundy (81).
Matthew Kreuzer led the Vultures scoring overall with 139 points, but was the only Venus Bay player to crack three figures.
Both teams were shorthanded in the midfield, with Scully and Kerr unable to play.

    Charlie's Opening 1412 d Larrikin Lagoon 1255
Charlie's Opening shored up its spot in the top 8 with an important 157-point victory over the Lefties.
It was a very consistent effort across the board from the Spelunkers, with only Stephen Hill (61) not scoring above 70. Leigh Montagna top scored with 140, with Jack (126), Petrie (125), Giles (100) and LeCras (101) also among the best players. The Spelunkers' solid defensive 4 also a highlight.
The Lefties' David Hale played what was perhaps his finest game for the club, scoring 140 points and working hard around the ground.
Lewis (118), Curnow (110) and Mzungu (113) also did well, but down games from a few players - Scotland and Conca amongst them - were too difficult for the Lefties to overcome.

    Birdsville 1246 d Cradle Mountain 1122
The ruck dominance of Ben McEvoy was the difference as Birdsville defeated Cradle Mountain by 124 points.
McEvoy's 135, combined with a handy 99 from another ruckman Zac Clarke, put Birdsville on the path to victory. The absence of a full-time ruckman for Cradle Mountain did not help the Devils' cause.
Marc Murphy (103) and Travis Cloke (101) were also among the Battlers' best.
For Cradle Mountain, Redden (116), Grigg (115), Pendles (103) and Hurley (100) contributed well, while Nick Smith provided 97 points off the bench.

    Mt Beauty 1288 d Nunawading 1203
The young midfield combo of Cotchin, Wingard and Sidebottom proved too much for Nunawading, leading Mt Beauty to an 85 point win.
Cotchin (137) Wingard (130) and Sidebottom (92) played key roles in the win, and were fed well by ruckman Leuenberger (117).
Dustin Martin (102) also reached three figures.
Kade Simpson (120) led the Nuffers in scoring, while boom youngster O'Meara enjoyed another stunner with 119 points.
Josh J Kennedy (108) and Mohr (109) enjoyed good games as well.

    Marble Bar 1287 d Lovely Banks 1092
Marble Bar enjoyed its second win in its past three matches with an impressive 195-point victory over Lovely Banks.
The Lilacs' recent performances had them entering the contest as slight favourites, but they had no answers to a rampaging Jack Steven in the middle.
Steven (165) was joined in the 100+ club by defenders Myers and Enright (100 and 115) as well as Jezza Cameron up forward (102). Terlich (98) returned to form, while new recruits Adam Tomlinson (95) and Tom Nicholls (88) continue to produce.
For Lovely Banks, too much was left to too few - Corey (104) and Caddy (100) the only centurions. Swan (98), Pyke (89) and Davey (85) next best. Red vests on Dylan Roberton (28) and Scott Thompson (55) didn't help the Lilacs' cause.

    Marble Bar 12 15564
    Lovely Banks 10 16114
    Larrikin Lagoon 8 16385
    Gundagai 0 12750

Iron Knob move two games clear atop the ladder and all but claim the minor premiership. Foul Bay and the Waikiks are battling for second and third, while the rest of the Top 8 remains up for grabs. However Wins to Darraweit and Charlie's Opening have strengthened their grips on finals positions.
Wagga Wagga and Venus Bay look likely to battle it out for eighth spot - though Mt Beauty remain in contention but must keep winning.
Teams 7-10 on the ladder play each other in Round 15 - matches that will go a long way to shaping the final 8.

    Round 15 (AFL 18) 26/7 - 28/7
    Chelsea Roffey Appreciation Round
Last season, this round ended up causing quite a bit of controversy, with Chels appointing Chelsea Roffey to be goal umpire in Waikickamoocow's match against Gariwerd, in severe breach of her contract with Whitsundays.
We had hoped to be able to fly her around to all the ORFFA games for this round; however am not sure if TiB will release her for such duties, so at least Whitsundays play Waikikamoocow this round so that she should be able to be present for Chels this year without any worries.
Two vital matches this round see Venus Bay take on Wagga Wagga, while Powlett Plains travel to Mt Beauty.
    Marble Bar v Gundagai
    Cradle Mountain v Foul Bay
    Wagga Wagga v Venus Bay
    Charlies Opening v Lovely Banks
    Mount Beauty v Powlett Plains
    Iron Knob v Darraweit Guim
    Waikikamoocow v Whitsundays
    Nunawading v Birdsville
    Gariwerd v Larrikin Lagoon
