Despite only having 15 scoring players, captain Goldy helped us to a total round 12 score of 1,548. While this was not exceptional, it was nothing terrible either, as we were ranked 37,712 in the round of death”. Our aggregate score now moves onto 24,383 while our overall rank is now at 21,038.
So, how did we get there?
Defence
H Shaw 110
J Gibson 79
B Smith 68
J Hamling 51
K McIntosh 39
Zeroes from J Lever, A Oxley, and K Kolodjashnij.
After a big round from our defenders last week, where they all topped the ton, on Cheater was able to back that up this week. Never mind the fact that the other three from last week were Kolo and Ox (byes) and Newnes (scrap heap), so didn't have a chance to repeat the brilliance. Generally though, it was quite a disappointing showing from the boys down back.
Midfield
P Cripps 136
P Dangerfield 106 (VC)
D Beams 105
J Selwood 74
T Dumont 22
Zeroes from A Saad, J Nelson, D McKenzie, S Pendlebury, J Kennedy, L Parker.
Some good along with some bad scores through the mids this week. Holding that Cripps bloke has proven beneficial yet again, with his 136 points, while both Danger and Beams were a little below average but still topped the ton. That Selwood bloke on the other hand, he's nowhere near as good as a couple of his brothers, with even Scott showing him the way this week! Dumont still looks like he's suffering from the effects of Razor Ray, with a lowly 22 points. Hopefully the return of some big names this week help out our mid scores.
Ruck
T Goldstein 154 (Captain 308)
N Naitanui 146
M Cox still munching donuts.
A combined 454 points was still not the best possible score from rucks this week, thanks to Blicavs and his 153. Still, you can't complain about those 7 points when each of your rucks score above 140 in the same week. Can't see it happening again this week though!
Forward
D Martin 148
M Bontempelli 93
R Gray 63
Zeroes from L Franklin, T Mitchell, M Clark, D Swan, J McGrath
Not much to write about this week. Dusty carved up, Bonts may have done enough to keep him in our side (and a few others), while Gray was cruising until Gibbs slammed him into the turf.
Trades
Only one trade was made this week, with us dropping Newnes for the backline cashcow in Hamling. So far, so good, but once again, during the byes its hard to properly assess the benefits of some trades. I'll get back to a better trade analysis next week.
Round 13 Preview
Its looking as though we'll have 19 scoring players this week, but with some serious opportunities for upgrades, we should be more than alright. Come and join us in the donors forum to help with this weeks' trades and captain selection.
