<p style='text-align: justify;]Week 11 TooSerious Fantasy NFL
<p style='text-align: justify;]
<p style='text-align: justify;]
<p style='text-align: justify;]
<p style='text-align: justify;]Rigil Kentaurus (105) def The Jug-O-Naughts (83)
<p style='text-align: justify;]
<p style='text-align: justify;]With both teams needing a win to secure their rights to a Playoff berth, the Jug-O-Naughts just couldn't match the efforts of Rigils QB's, and thus the O-Naughts bow out for 2013, whilst Kentaurus live to fight another day.
<p style='text-align: justify;]
<p style='text-align: justify;]
<p style='text-align: justify;]Rigil Kentaurus - It was the Palmer (24 - 419 yards, 2 TDs) and Stafford (22 - 362 yards, 2 TDs) show for Rigil Kentaurus, though to be fair, it was mostly Stafford's first half as the Steelers kept he and Megatron mostly in check for the second half of their clash, but Palmers efforts were nothing short of miraculous as he defied form, ability and pure luck to post massive throwing numbers. Olsen (11 - 52 yards, TD) the Bears D/ST (13) and Prater (10) all made sizeable contributions to the team total and similar performances are likely to be much needed as they enter the Playoffs next week. Where will the improvement come from if they are to challenge the top sides? The Inconvenient Truth (4 - 48 yards) needs to lift and hope the 49ers go back to a more run heavy offence, Spiller (1 - 6 yards) somehow needs to turn his season around after he was well held by the tough Jets defensive line, and wide receivers Smith (9 - 32 yards, TD), Shorts (2 - 22 yards) and Randle (9 - 37 yards, TD) are all dependent on their QB's exploiting the defensive secondary. Fortunately for Kentaurus, Smith has a great run home and Eli and the Giants are starting to warm up as the US gets cold, which bodes well for Randle. Unfortunately though, Shorts might as well throw himself the ball, as he has very little under centre. Murray is likely to return from his bye week, but little else will change for Kentaurus, and they are going to probably need greater outputs from the whole squad if they are to realistically contend.
<p style='text-align: justify;]
<p style='text-align: justify;]
<p style='text-align: justify;]The Jug-O-Naughts - The O-Naughts end on a rather mediocre note, with their key players wearily submitting to the burden they have carried throughout, in what is an unbalanced squad. Ryan (14 - 254 yards, 2 TDs) and Brady (13 - 296 yards, TD, INT) were again solid contributors, but both have been missing key personnel throughout the year and thus their scoring has been certainly limited by their receiving core. Reggie (3 - 31 yards, Fumble) and All Day (6 - 65 yards) had particularly rough season-ending games, with Reggie seemingly on a boom or bust cycle that is inextricably linked to Megatrons output, whilst for All-Day, the expectations have never been higher, and despite a good year from him, he has not been the match-winner the O-Naughts had hoped. Andre Johnson (11 - 116 yards) blew up in Schaub's face and is yet another that has had to endure team deficiencies that have limited his scoring. There are glaring weaknesses in this squad, and this was significantly evident in this season-defining match-up, with WR Moore (7 - 11 yards, TD), TE Timothy Wright (1 - 13 yards) and flex man Ogbonnaya (7 - 69 yards, Fumble) providing mid-range scores that just don't equate to Championship level football. All have shown glimpses, but none are reliable, week-in, week-out fantasy players and with little else on the bench (Colston was a surprise bench-sitter this week admittedly). The Seahawks D/ST (16) has proven to be the best D/ST in the league and it will be interesting to see if the O-Naughts retain their services as Keepers at the expense of certain players prior to the draft next year.
<p style='text-align: justify;]
<p style='text-align: justify;]Likely Keepers: M.Ryan, T.Brady, R.Bush, A.Peterson, A.Johnson, M.Colston.
<p style='text-align: justify;]
<p style='text-align: justify;]
<p style='text-align: justify;]Brady's Bunch (109) def Team Stowie (96)
<p style='text-align: justify;]
<p style='text-align: justify;]A solid performance by Brady's men saw them overcome a Team Stowie outfit that couldn't wait to see the end of 2013 after injuries and trouble at the QB position played a major part in Stowie missing the playoffs this year.
<p style='text-align: justify;]
<p style='text-align: justify;]
<p style='text-align: justify;]Brady's Bunch - It was the Big Ben show on the weekend that proved the difference in this matchup, perhaps he had something to prove after all the trade scuttlebutt but regardless of that any team would be happy to have the big man front and centre of their offence. Ray Rice finally crawled out from under his hole to show he has still got it” but it was all too late for the Bunch and probably the ravens as well as he has had a poor season. Nelson showed that even with a 3rd string QB tossing him the ball he has hands like glue and will always be a solid contributor.
<p style='text-align: justify;]Rivers (13 - 298 yards, TD, INT), Big Ben (31 - 367 yards, 4 TDs), Ray Rice (20 - 131 yards, TD), Nelson (11 - 117 yards), Cumberland (8 - 25 yards, TD), Hartley (12), DeAngelo Williams (2 - 14 yards), Dobson (3 - 38 yards), Thompkins (6 - 60 yards), Patriots D/ST (3) were the scorers this weekend.
<p style='text-align: justify;]
<p style='text-align: justify;]Likely Keepers: P.Rivers, B.Roethlisberger, J.Nelson, A.Boldin, R.Rice, D.Williams
<p style='text-align: justify;]
<p style='text-align: justify;]
<p style='text-align: justify;]Team Stowie - It was a frustrating season for Stowie, a team that is full of talent just couldn't get their best team on the park on a consistent basis. Cam Newton (26) is showing that he has matured greatly in the QB role and will be a valuable asset in this position for many years to come, the opportunistic trade to get Martin was a clever one while Harvin(1) and Gronk(11), once fully fit and a proper preseason behind them will make team Stowie a force as soon as next year. The scorers this week were Henne (10 - 255 yards, TD), Newton (26 - 209 yards, 3 TDs) Freddy Jackson (3 - 34 yards), Miller (3 - 17 yards), Harvin (1 - 17 yards), Gronkowski (11 - 59 yards, TD) Boykin (9 - 91 yards), Ivory (15 - 98 yards, TD), Hauschka (13), Panthers D/ST (5). Some tough choices await in the offseason deciding on who to keep and who to cut.
<p style='text-align: justify;]
<p style='text-align: justify;]Likely Keepers: C.Newton, R.Gronkowski, D.Martin, J.Thomas, R.Cobb, P.Harvin
<p style='text-align: justify;]
<p style='text-align: justify;]
<p style='text-align: justify;]Kings of Karlos (104) lost to Waito's Warriors (109)
<p style='text-align: justify;]
<p style='text-align: justify;]In a devastating loss to the Warriors, the KoK falter at the last hurdle and drop from the Number 2 seed in the NFC and out of Playoff contention, whilst the Warriors late season revival continues as they shore up a Playoff berth with another Megatron-inspired win over the youthful KoK.
<p style='text-align: justify;]
<p style='text-align: justify;]
<p style='text-align: justify;]Kings of Karlos - A pretty even spread across the team sheet for the KoK, with the Browns Gordon (18 - 125 yards, TD) leading the team with a solid outing against the strong Bengals secondary, whilst Brees (14 - 305 yards, TD, INT) posted good numbers considering the opposition, the 49ers D, which were also the KoK D/ST (4), so something had to give, and it proved to be the 49ers. Glennon (17 - 231 yards, 2 TDs) was solid again in the Bucs second straight win for the year. Lacy (10 - 27 yards, TD) was a workhorse for GB, but with the Giants D playing like the Giants D of a couple a years ago, he found little running room (though he showed superb strength to roll over for a TD), and Welker (7 - 72 yards) went head-to-head with the Chiefs Flowers in a smash fest and probably came off second best despite the Bronco's winning. Davis (9 - 33 yards, TD) caught a TD pass from Kaepernick to boost his numbers, whilst Bernard (8 - 45 yards) and Crosby (9) both had fair, if unspectacular, games. The depth of this squad was again on show, as Cotchery (10), Walker (15) and Ball (15) all posted good numbers on the bench for KoK, and Decker was solid for Denver, but like Welker, also couldn't find the end zone. All signs point towards this team being a contender for the next 10 years with this squad in what has been a frighteningly good display this year considering their youth.
<p style='text-align: justify;]
<p style='text-align: justify;]Likely Keepers: D.Brees, E.Lacy, W.Welker, J.Gordon, E.Decker, G.Bernard, V.Davis
<p style='text-align: justify;]
<p style='text-align: justify;]
<p style='text-align: justify;]Waito's Warriors - The Warriors late season revival continued, and again, it was that man Calvin Johnson (29 - 179 yards, 2 TDs) leading the way, despite not having a catch in the second half. His first half numbers were record-tracking numbers for the Number 1 WR in the game, and perhaps history will tell us, the Number 2 WR to ever play the game. Megatron was well supported by the Chiefs QB and newly acquired Warrior, Alex Smith (22 - 230 yards, 2 TDs), who was very good against Denver and perhaps let down somewhat by some dropped catches, particularly early on in the Chiefs first loss of the year, Fitzpatrick (14 - 222 yards, TD), who led the Titans to a big lead over Indy before being run over late, and Demaryius Thomas (12 - 121 yards), who was the most favoured of Manning's receivers but like Welker and Decker, failed to find the end zone and thus limiting what could've been a very big day. Freddy Morris (9 - 93 yards) was good for Washington, though as has been the case all year, he was unable to score a TD, and thus his scores remain below top 10 RB expectations. Gostkowski (9) did what he needed to do in MNF to ensure a Warriors win. Elsewhere, T-Rich (5 - 22 yards) continued to bomb and increasingly looks like the second choice option in the Indy backfield, Cameron (2 - 29 yards) struggled again for the Browns, Miami's Rishard Matthews (5 - 52 yards) battled despite the Fin's winning, whilst the Ravens D/ST (2) struggled in the wet and windy conditions at Chicago. They are in the Playoffs but the lack of consistency throughout the year, which doesn't appear to be abating, will suggest the Warriors have a very hard road to travel if they are to go back-to-back. However, after a massive mid-year form slump, they have done well to get this far and with Megatron in his current form, anything is possible.
<p style='text-align: justify;]
<p style='text-align: justify;]
<p style='text-align: justify;]Canton Bulldogs (128) lost to Team Simonoz (132)
<p style='text-align: justify;]
<p style='text-align: justify;]In the top of the Divisions clash, it was Team Simonoz who got the chocolates, with a late surge from Vereen good enough to consolidate their position atop the AFC rankings and a week 1 Playoff bye.
<p style='text-align: justify;]
<p style='text-align: justify;]
<p style='text-align: justify;]Canton Bulldogs - Unusually quiet games for the Denver duo of Manning (14 - 323 yards, TD, Fumble) and Moreno (7 - 79 yards) in SNF left them with not enough of a lead going into MNF, resulting in Cantons 3rd loss for the year. Frustratingly for Canton, Moreno got the bulk of the RB duties, but Ball got the goal line carries, and his 2 TDs were much to the chagrin of the Bulldogs coaching staff! Beastmode (23 - 54 yards, 3 total TDs), Vinnie Jackson (22 - 165 yards, TD) and the Bengals D/ST (26) carried much of the load for Canton, though McCown (12 - 216 yards, TD) and Forte (18 - 83 yards, REC TD) made strong contributions as the Bears toppled the Ravens in the weather-affected Sunday afternoon/night match-up. It was the below average performances from Hilton (4 - 44 yards) in the Colts worst game of the year, Reed (1 - 12 yards) in the Redskins loss to the Eagles, and Folk (1) who finally blotted his record for the year by missing a field goal early in the Jets pathetic showing against the Bills that cost Canton the win. Despite some lowly scores, Canton had nothing to gain in this one and will remain confident heading into the playoffs that they have the team to win the title this year.
<p style='text-align: justify;]
<p style='text-align: justify;]
<p style='text-align: justify;]Team Simonoz - Come on down Bobby Rainey - 163 yards, 3 total TDs and 34 fantasy points, WOWEE!!!! A herculean performance by the little guy as Tampa smashed Atlanta led Team Simonoz to a strong win and subsequent first round Playoff bye. Rainey had good support from Harry Douglas (19 - 134 yards, TD) who has taken the bulk of Julio Jones workload for Atlanta, Fleener (10 - 107 yards), who likewise has benefited enormously from the loss of Reggie Wayne at Indy, whilst Kaepernick (13 - 127 yards, 2 TDs) and Matthews (13 - 127 yards) both produced worthwhile contributions for Team Simonoz in a contest where every point was valuable in this top of the table clash. Vereen (6 - 7 yards) put the final nail in the Canton coffin in MNF with a lowly, but good enough considering the context of the game, score, whilst the Cardinals D/ST (9) and Gould (12) in a terrific effort considering the weather endured) were good in their teams wins over the Jags and Ravens respectively. With the Arizona D/ST a particularly sound team selection considering they started, and wisely so, in front of the outstanding Chiefs D/ST who couldn't stop Peyton and his merry men at Mile High. With D-Jax (8 - 82 yards) not being able to find the end zone, and Keenum (8 - 170 yards, TD, INT) being pulled, surprisingly so, for Schaub during the Texans loss to the Raiders, Team Simonoz are likely to be very pleased with their efforts in overcoming Canton despite not being at their very best, and must go into the Playoffs full of confidence that their squad will prove extremely hard to beat for the 2013 title.
<p style='text-align: justify;]
<p style='text-align: justify;]
<p style='text-align: justify;]
<p style='text-align: justify;]Billy Bass (65) lost to Jimbo's Juggernaut (106)
<p style='text-align: justify;]
<p style='text-align: justify;]Billy Bass finish the year with their 3rd straight loss in what has been a challenging year to say the least, whilst Jimbos Juggernaut played their part in trying to seize the number 1 seed in the AFC, though it was all in vain as Team Simonoz got the job done at Canton to take the first round bye in the Playoffs.
<p style='text-align: justify;]
<p style='text-align: justify;]
<p style='text-align: justify;]Billy Bass - With their marque player (Rodgers) still nursing a shoulder injury, Billy Bass were certainly up against it as they slotted in the Scott Tolzien Experience into the QB2 slot and hoped AJ and Dalton would have a day out against Cleveland. Unfortunately, it wasn't to be, as only Dalton (11 - 93 yards, 3 TDs) and the Ravens kicker, Tucker (10), reached double figures in what can only be described as a poor team performance. With little at stake, Tolzien (8 - 339 yards, 3 INT) threw a lot, but conversely, got picked a lot to! Sproles got injured early in the Saints win over the 49ers, Brown (8 - 66 yards) couldn't find the end zone but was strong with the ball in hand, Garcon (6 - 68 yards) was a victim of RGIII's continued inconsistencies, AJ (0 - 7 yards) couldn't get near it with Haden lurking closely whenever the ball went near him, whilst Housler (7 - 70 yards) and White (7 - 36 yards, TD, Fumble) were solid, but certainly not good enough to lift Billy Bass to a win. Twin fantasy scores of 21 to running backs Donald Brown and Rashad Jennings was probably just salt into the wound for Billy Bass, who will be glad to see the end of a frustrating season and must now look to make some tough calls on his squad if they are to move forward as contenders in 2014.
<p style='text-align: justify;]
<p style='text-align: justify;]Likely Keepers: A.Rodgers, D.Sproles, AJ.Green, A.Dalton, P.Garcon, R.White
<p style='text-align: justify;]
<p style='text-align: justify;]
<p style='text-align: justify;]Jimbos Juggernaut - Not their greatest performance, but a win nevertheless, and winning form is good form going into the Playoffs. With Romo and the Steelers number 1 WR Brown (21) likely to come into the squad next week, the Juggernaut remain one of the favourites for this years Superbowl. Shady McCoy (26 - 77 yards, 2 TDs) was very good for the Juggernaut, as he has been all year, though a hamstring scare may have had the Juggernauts coaching box sweating during the Eagles win over the Redskins. McCoy was well supported by Luck (18 - 232 yards, Rushing TD), Tannehill (14 - 268 yards, TD, INT) who stepped in for Romo, Cruz (11 - 110 yards) and the opportunistic Vinatieri (15), who took plenty of shots as the Colts came from behind to beat the Titans in TNF. So where will the Juggernaut get some improvement from? Cooper (3 - 37 yards) and Ellington (1 - 3 yards) will be in the gun this week after average performances, with Brown pouring on the pressure to come back into the starting line-up. Charles (7 - 78 yards) will look to rebound from an unusually off night in the Chiefs first loss for the year, whilst Bennett (4- 48 yards) remains a sound but limited fantasy-scoring wise TE with Jeffery and Marshall dominating the air waves for the Bears. A punt return TD from the Texans ST saved them from what was a pretty ordinary outing against the Raiders, and they too will be closely looked at with the Rams D/ST on the pine and having posted good numbers this year as possible replacements in week 1 of the Playoffs.
<p style='text-align: justify;]
<p style='text-align: justify;]
<p style='text-align: justify;]Canuck Warriors (97) def So Long Mr Wallace (88)
<p style='text-align: justify;]
<p style='text-align: justify;]In a must-win game for Canuck to secure a Playoffs berth, the Warriors key players stood up to overcome a feisty SLMW and remain in the running for the season's silverware.
<p style='text-align: justify;]
<p style='text-align: justify;]
<p style='text-align: justify;]Canuck Warriors - Led by QBs RGIII (22 - 264 yards, 2 TDs), who despite his Fantasy score, wasn't great for the Redskins, and his deep throw late in the game was horrific, and Foles (21 - 298 yards, RUSH TD), Canuck were good enough to win, but will likely need improved performances from their lesser lights in the weeks ahead if they are to progress deep into the Playoffs. Fitzgerald (12 - 61 yards, TD) enjoyed a day out as the Cardinals relied on a passing game to beat the Jaguars, Gates (11 - 52 yards, TD) found the end zone despite the Chargers loss to Miami, Ridley (8 - 48 yards, TD, Fumble) overcame an early fumble to rack up some nice yardage and a TD, and Walsh (9) was perfect for the Vikings against the Seahawks, but there was little else from the Warriors, which is a worrying sign this late in the season. Allen (4 - 45 yards) was well held by a surprisingly good San Diego secondary, Tate (2 - 26 yards) was outplayed by his teammate Baldwin, and with Harvin also resuming, his scoring potential may be somewhat limited. Ingram (2 - 25 yards) couldn't back-up last week's performance, even with Sproles leaving the game. Ingram doesn't appear to be the trusted man when the Saints are in a close one, and with Sproles and Thomas featuring heavily in the Saints run and pass attack he appears to be the third choice guy for now and may be on the Canuck chopping block heading into the Playoffs, particularly with Stacy likely to return next week from the bye. In the big SNF match-up, the Denver D/ST (6) was very good, but were unable to produce any big plays against the Chiefs and thus posted a below average score. Canuck remain an enigmatic team, and are likely to cause their opposition coach a few sleepless nights in the coming week, but consistency has been their problem all year, and with 6 weeks of very good football required to win the Superbowl, the challenge is firmly in front of them at this stage.
<p style='text-align: justify;]
<p style='text-align: justify;]
<p style='text-align: justify;]So Long Mr Wallace - An inconsistent performance rounds out a year of underachievement for SLMW, as they remain anchored to the bottom of the AFC and head off early on the end of year fantasy footy trip. Dangeruss (18 - 230 yards, 2 TDs), as he has been all year, was magnificent, CJ81 (20 - 86 yards, 2 TDs) was impressive for the Titans and has finished the year off well, a portent of things to come hopefully for SLMW in 2014. Unfortunately though, Baldwin (12 - 63 yards, TD) and Novak (12) were the only other players to reach double figures, as key receivers Marshall (4 - 42 yards) and Graham (4 - 41 yards) were well held in their team's tight finishes on Sunday. Hartline (6 - 65 yards) proved to be the wrong Dolphin to start this week, with Clay (15 - 90 yards, TD) having a great day, but being wasted on the SLMW bench, the Law Firm (6 - 62 yards) remains a low-ceiling kind-of-guy in a pass heavy offence and a shared backfield, whilst the Titans (-1) were terrible as they were torched by the Colts after half time in TNF. Clay wasn't the only good score on the bench, as Manuel (17) and Daniel Thomas (11) both did nicely for the Bills and Dolphins respectively. Campbell (7 - 248 yards, TD) struggled against one of the top rated defenses, as he proved to be another costly team selection for SLMW (admittedly, the Jets D has been good of late and might have been expected to be better against Manuel and the Bills offence). Some big decisions need to be made in the off-season with where this squad is at. They will enter 2014 with 3 of the best receivers (2 WRs and a TE) in the game, but 2 of them have played little in 2013 due to injuries, whilst Graham has not been himself with a lingering foot injury, and inadequacies at RB may necessitate some keen trading or KoK-like drafting if they are to rise from this year's lowly rank.
<p style='text-align: justify;]
<p style='text-align: justify;]Likely Keepers: R.Wilson, C.Johnson, B.Marshall, J.Graham, EJ.Manuel, J.Jones.
