Sorry for the late post this week. We had a pretty good round 14, but nothing brilliant. Our round score was 2167 which placed us at 46,129 for the week, while our overall ranking is 22,531 so not quite where we want it to be.

In our leagues we had a bit of a shocker, winning two of five, to now be ranked 16th (Ucantbetooserious), 4th (Ucantbe TS), 4th (TS Igotatheroy), 7th (TS Pine Warmers) and 10th (TS – WA League). Ironically it was the two leagues that we’re ranked lowest that we won, and the three we’re ranked the highest we lost!

Join me over the break to see the breakdown of the team.<!--more-->

We had a pretty even spread across the lines with week, with more positive emphasis moving to our forward line, which started the season weak, while our backline, which started the season strong, is now letting us down a little.

So, that backline – it was lead by Deledio on 110 points, being the only backman to top the ton. We then had Waters on 86, Goddard and Lake sharing 81 a piece, Broughton on 71, H Shaw on 66, and Bugg on 24 points. Our bench was S Shaw as emergency on 59, and Darley with a donut. Had have we swapped S Shaw for Bugg we would have picked up another 35 points, but that’s the only improvement we could have made down back.

In the midfield we had some really solid scores from most, and a couple of major disappointments. We were lead by VC Selwood on 149 points, followed by Mitchell on 129, Kennedy on 123, and Priddis on 117 – all good scores! The disappointment came with Permacap Ablett only getting 87 points, doubled up to 174, while Pendlebury stand-in Sexton only dragged in 10 points. This was even more disappointing when you look at the newly traded in Gibson, sitting on our bench as an emergency, with 91 points – outscoring our captain! Clearly a lot of potential points missed here, 143 of them infact!!!

The rucks saw Redden and Pattison continue their sugary-coated goodness on the pine, while Cox was back in great form with 134, with Giles starting to slip down to 73 points. It might be time for a ruck upgrade me-thinks.

Onto our forward line, where we’ve been constantly let down this year, and finally some more good news to report. This week the underperforming Martin topped the list with 134 points, closely followed by Franklin on 130 points. Rounding out our ton-toppers were Roughead on 112 and Porplyzia on 106. The rest of our forwards were ok, but nothing special, with Sidebottom on 93, Dangerfield on 86, and Riewoldt on 78. The bench was made up of Milera’s emergency 12, and a suspended Adams donut. No more points to be made there, so overall we missed out on a potential 178 points this week, which is a pretty sizeable chunk of points!

So onto this week, and what our plans are... sorry, no secrets here, you’ll have to head over to the forum to find out!!!
