Its been a hell of a ride this year for the donors, and unfortunately it came to an end on a rather poor note. We scored a measly 2143 points for round 23, which placed us at 89,252 for the round, and a final placing of 21,414 for season 2012 - a far cry from our top 100 target!!!

We had three league finals this week, taking home only one of them, but it was the winners league that we won, which was nice.

Join me over the break for the final team review of the year.<!--more-->

Its served us well for the last 22 weeks, so why change the routine? Heres the breakdown of the donor team for round 23.

    Deledio DEF 100
    Scotland DEF 78
    Goddard DEF 85
    Shaw DEF 79
    Lake DEF 47
    Yarran DEF 20
    Shaw DEF 43 (e)
    Ablett MID 122 captain 244
    Kennedy MID 105
    Selwood MID 111
    Mitchell MID 121
    Pendlebury MID 125
    Priddis MID 86
    Cox RUC 81
    Roughead RUC 106
    Dangerfield FWD 169
    Sidebottom FWD 73
    Riewoldt FWD 119
    Franklin FWD 112
    Martin FWD 19
    Goodes FWD 69
    Fyfe FWD 151

    Carrazzo DEF 0
    Darley DEF 0
    Gibson MID 100
    Sexton MID 0
    Campbell RUC 75
    Pattison RUC 0
    Adams FWD 82
    Milera FWD 84

As you can see, a bit of a disappointment of a final round, beginning with the backline, where our top scorer was Deledio, on a perfect ton. He was followed by Goddard on 85, H Shaw on 79, and Scotland on 78, meaning all our true premiums had less than premium performances in the final round. There was a big drop back to Lake, next up on 47 points, followed by emergency S Shaw on 43, and finally Yarran on 20 points! On the bench was the late withdrawal of Carrazzo, and Darley, both bringing in donuts. I knew the Blues gave up, but surely with Carrots out, both Scotland and Yarran should have scored a hell of a lot more!

On to the midfield, where Pendlebury lead the way on 125 points, closely followed by Ablett on 122, doubled up as our captain to 244, and closely followed again by Mitchell on 121 points. Selwood was next up on 111 points, then Kennedy on 105, and finally Priddis letting us down on 86 points. On the pine we had emergency (and future Supercoach champion) Gibson on an even 100 points, and the LTI Sexton on a donut. While picking Gibson wouldnt be a silly idea at any stage, we never though about brining him on this week with all our big names playing, however Priddis poor performance means we missed out on a potential 14 midfield points.

The rucks was a further disappointment this week, with Roughead leading the way on 106 points, and Cox letting us down on a lowly 81 points. Campbell did his job as a backup, with 75 points, while our MPP Pattison again failed to play, bringing home another dount. No potentially missed points here, with our rucks doing as good as they possibly could for us this week.

The forwards were lead by Dangerfield on a huge 169 points, doing his bit to boost our team score. Next best was Fyfe on 151 points, both of them showing up the full-time midfielders by a huge amount. Riewoldt was next up, on 119 points, followed by Franklin on 112. At this stage our forward line was looking like it finally started to pull it weight, until we jump the chasm to Sidebottom on 73 points, Goodes on 69, and then an even bigger chasm back to serial-disappointment Martin on a lowly 19 points (making Yarrans 20 "look good"). On the bench was Milera on 84 and Adams on 82, both of which we could have used on the field, to score a combined 85 points more from our forwards.

So, some real disappointments this week dragging down the few good performances we had. There was 99 points from team selection, and a further 47 points from captain selection, costing us a potential 146 points for round 23. We also didnt use our final trade for 2012, as the dreaded general never really arrived (aside from maybe Carrazzo), and we couldnt agree on what to do with the final trade, so we just kept it. Obviously theres no prizes for saving trades, and swapping any one of our disappointments for a star performer in round 23 would have gotten us a good 100 extra points, so its fair to say we missed out on atleast a potential 200 points this week - which is one of our worst performances of the season.

Our league results were less than impressive, with just one win from our three finals.

    League 1: Ucantbetooserious
We lost to the Shoodabeens in the losers league here, by 140 points. Getting our team selection spot on here would have done it for us, but it looks like our opponents forward line could have been further optimised, putting the result even further beyond doubt. Congrats to the Shoodabeens who had our measure all season, beating us three times in the space of five weeks!
The winners half of this league saw Sledge Hammers beat Such is Life by 64 points, so congrats to the Sledge Hammers.
The Daisy Hill Miners took out the total points prize, with 51,181 for the season, in a league with an average of 2094 and an overall ranking of 453.

    League 2: Ucantbe TS
Despite our low score, we managed to win the winners league here, by just 22 points, over Portland Players. It looks like the Players were short one in the backline, and also got burnt by Martin, but luckily for us, even in hindsight, our potential points haul was bigger than theirs.
The losers half of the league saw Geoffos SC mob take down Rising Pies TS by 156 points. Congrats to Geoffos SC mob!
The overall points was lead by Alinatrons on 51,037 for the season, in a league that averaged 2140 with an overall ranking of 78 - a mighty fine effort by everyone in the league!

    League 3: TS Igotatheory
We faced off against Lord Brockys Best in the losers final, and got done by 114 points. While getting team selection right would have helped us, it looks like Brocky had enough points up his sleeve to keep us at bay, so congrats to you Lord Brocky, your best was better than ours!
In the winners half of the draw there was a 109 point win to Fox Comedians over BCTRON. Congrats to the funny men of Fox Comedians.
The total points was lead by Moneyball, who probably payed close attention to the concepts in the movie, and put together a team that made 51,116 points for 2012, and lead the league by a fair amount. Here the league average was 2123, which placed us all at 168 in the overall.

    League 4: TS Pine Warmers
We were kicked out of the winners league here in week one. The league was ultimately won by Sticky Fingers, by 110 points over Krunchy Nuts. Congrats to Sticky Fingers.
The losers league saw Slaughterhouse beat Victorious Secret (in the lingerie match - can I say that?) by 145 points. Congrats to Slaughterhouse.
The overall points score was topped by league winners Sticky Fingers, showing that they really were the best of the pine warmers in 2012. They scored a total of 51,379 just taking out the prize, in a lage with an average of 2127 points, and an overall rank of 146.

League 5: TS - WA League
We lost the losers prelim last week, so sat back and watched my personal team Que Ordinario beat Tino Time by 138 points in the losers league. Am I allowed to congratulate myself???
The winners league was taken out by Spartans, beating a team weve seen before in the post, Alinatrons, by 151 points. Congrats to the Spartans for taking out the league.
There was some comfort for Alinatrons, taking out the overall points score in another TS league, with the same 51,037 points in a league with an average of 2118 and and overall ranking of 213.

There is no tomorrow anymore, so you dont have to head over to the donors forum to help us choose the team. I will however ask everyone to hold tight, and over the next few weeks Ill find the time to write the season review for the donors, and we can all marvel at how a team that managed the top 1000 last year fell completely from grace to be ranked outside the top 20,000 for 2012. Im feeling a Brett Ratten moment here!!!
