Before continuing on with
the 3rd and 4th month performances of the [span style='font-weight: bold;]W2SP Club,
let's recap where the club stood after the first 2 months of operations.
Month 1 (Sep/Oct 2012)
saw our punting record show we had [span style='font-style: italic; text-decoration: underline;]staked [span style='font-weight: bold;]$453.63 for a [span style='font-style: italic; text-decoration: underline;]return of [span style='font-weight: bold;]$401.49 - a [span style='font-style: italic; text-decoration: underline;]loss of [span style='font-weight: bold; color: #ff0000;]$52.14 for the month.
Month 2 (Oct/Nov 2012)
produced a result of [span style='font-weight: bold;]$532.07 [span style='font-style: italic; text-decoration: underline;]staked for a [span style='font-style: italic; text-decoration: underline;]return of [span style='font-weight: bold;]$459.04 - an overall [span style='font-style: italic; text-decoration: underline;]loss of [span style='font-weight: bold; color: #ff0000;]$73.03 for the month.
This meant an overall
performance over the first 2 months of [span style='font-weight: bold;]$985.70 [span style='font-style: italic; text-decoration: underline;]staked; [span style='font-weight: bold;]$860.53 [span style='font-style: italic; text-decoration: underline;]return - [span style='font-style: italic; text-decoration: underline;]loss of [span style='font-weight: bold; color: #ff0000;]$125.17
Not the best start, but
could've been much worse!!!
So now we head on to the
3rd and 4th months of our performances.

[span style='font-weight: bold; text-decoration: underline;]Month 3 - Nov/Dec 2012
Another
shaky start with 2 donuts to start the 3rd month's roster,
but that all changed with [span style='font-weight: bold; font-style: italic;]Weazel (Sat 24th Nov) recording
a [span style='font-weight: bold;]$10.59
profit which was followed by another donut next day. The next 2 days
was a case of BANG, BANG as firstly [span style='font-weight: bold; font-style: italic;]Bucko (Mon 26th Nov), then [span style='font-weight: bold; font-style: italic;]SMJ69 (aka Jacko) (Tues 27th Nov) fired in with [span style='font-weight: bold;]$20.60 and [span style='font-weight: bold;]$32.50 profits
respectively, which had members smiling all round.
Unfortunately
the good times didn't last very long as we then went on to experience
the longest drought in our club's short history with 8 donuts over
the ensuing 11 days, only saved by small collects but no profits from [span style='font-weight: bold; font-style: italic;]Grizzles (Fri 30th Nov) and [span style='font-weight: bold; font-style: italic;]Russkoit (Sun 2nd Dec), and
a couple of refunded bets for [span style='font-weight: bold; font-style: italic;]Nimrodr (Thurs 29th Nov) as
a result of late scratchings.
At this
stage, the month was starting to look pretty grim and we needed a couple
of members to step up for the club to lift us out of the doldrums, and
that is exactly what happened over the next 3 days with [span style='font-weight: bold; font-style: italic;]ItsInMyDna (9th Dec), [span style='font-weight: bold; font-style: italic;]LenH191 (10th Dec) and [span style='font-weight: bold; font-style: italic;]Scarrgo (11th Dec) trying their best to lift the
club up by recording profits of [span style='font-weight: bold;]$7.75, [span style='font-weight: bold;]$40.35 and [span style='font-weight: bold;]$3.58 respectively from their daily bets.
Up next
was the [span style='font-weight: bold; font-style: italic;]club captain (yours truly), who unfortunately couldn't bring
in a cent [span style='font-weight: bold; font-style: italic; text-decoration: underline;](again!!!). This was the start
of another lean spell of 6 days with only 2 minor collects without profit
by [span style='font-weight: bold; font-style: italic;]BigbadBunks (13th Dec) and [span style='font-weight: bold; font-style: italic;]Ruddy (15th Dec) to round out
the main roster for the month before handing over to the month's top
punters for their 2nd shot.
With
only 6 members actually recording profits for the month ([span style='font-weight: bold; font-style: italic;]LenH191, [span style='font-weight: bold; font-style: italic;]SMJ69, [span style='font-weight: bold; font-style: italic;]Bucko, [span style='font-weight: bold; font-style: italic;]Weazel, [span style='font-weight: bold; font-style: italic;]ItsInMyDna and [span style='font-weight: bold; font-style: italic;]Scarrgo), it was decided they all should
have a 2nd shot to try and improve the month's takings.
Unfortunately only [span style='font-weight: bold;]LenH191 (18th Dec) [span style='font-weight: bold;]$8.10 profit and [span style='font-weight: bold; font-style: italic;]SMJ69 (20th Dec) [span style='font-weight: bold;]$4.90 profit were able to record a return.
This
meant that month 3 of W2SP club operations ended up recording the biggest
monthly loss in our short history with [span style='font-weight: bold;]$548.00 [span style='font-style: italic; text-decoration: underline;]staked for a [span style='font-style: italic; text-decoration: underline;]return of [span style='font-weight: bold;]$311.76 - a [span style='font-style: italic; text-decoration: underline;]loss of [span style='font-weight: bold; color: #ff0000;]$236.24 for the month.
Overall,
for the first 3 months of club operations, our combined result was [span style='font-weight: bold;]$1533.70 [span style='font-style: italic; text-decoration: underline;]staked for a [span style='font-style: italic; text-decoration: underline;]return of [span style='font-weight: bold;]$1172.29 and a [span style='font-style: italic; text-decoration: underline;]loss of [span style='font-weight: bold; color: #ff0000;]$361.41 - [span style='font-weight: bold; font-style: italic; text-decoration: underline;]surely things could
only improve from here!!!

[span style='font-weight: bold; text-decoration: underline;]Month 4 - Dec 2012/Jan 2013
With
month 4 commencing just days before Christmas, it was always going to
be a juggling act for me to slot punters in for their bets as several
members were unavailable due to festive/family commitments at this time
of year. But hey, as captain of the club it was my duty to make sure
things run as smoothly as possible!!!
As the
month commenced, it seemed like the same old story was about to unfold
again with the first 2 days proving unprofitable and the only collect
being a refunded bet for [span style='font-weight: bold; font-style: italic;]Grizzles for a late scratching.
The
next couple of days (24th and 25th) ended up becoming
no bet days, which meant that we would end up having a couple of days
later on in the monthly roster becoming what is now known within the
club as double-up days” (2 club members punting on the same day).
Boxing
Day became the first double-up day” for us for this month
and it proved to be a good day with firstly [span style='font-weight: bold; font-style: italic;]TheOnion recording a nice winner at the
races (and following that up with another collect a few days later at
the conclusion of the Boxing Day Test), then [span style='font-weight: bold; font-style: italic;]Russkoit both having profitable days recording [span style='font-weight: bold;]$39.00 and [span style='font-weight: bold;]$1.75 profits
respectively!!!
Unfortunately
the good days were short lived, as what followed proved to be frustrating
for the respective punters with donuts to[span style='font-weight: bold; font-style: italic;] Jolcon (27th), [span style='font-weight: bold; font-style: italic;]Runci (1st), [span style='font-weight: bold; font-style: italic;]Steve and [span style='font-weight: bold; font-style: italic;]ItsInMyDna (both on the 2nd),
interspersed with collects but no profits from [span style='font-weight: bold; font-style: italic;]Swans2012 (28th) and [span style='font-weight: bold; font-style: italic;]Stowie (30th), and a no bet
day on the 29th due to [span style='font-weight: bold; font-style: italic;]BlueBeliever having the misfortune of his
computer dying on him!!!
By now
it was starting to look the same as the previous 3 months with a couple
of early profitable days whetting our appetites, only to fall into a
rut - surely this scenario would change!!!
And
change it did on the 3rd, thanks to [span style='font-weight: bold; font-style: italic;]Lenh191 recording the first ever $100+
collect in the club's short history - an astounding $120.05 return
off 2 from 2 winning bets and recording a [span style='font-weight: bold;]$104.05 profit - [span style='font-style: italic; text-decoration: underline;]ALL HAIL KING LENNY [span style='font-style: italic; text-decoration: underline; font-family: Wingdings, Arial;]J
This
proved to be short lived though, with the next 5 days providing a mixed
bag of donuts ([span style='font-weight: bold; font-style: italic;]Me 5th and [span style='font-weight: bold; font-style: italic;]Choppers 7th) and collects without
profit ([span style='font-weight: bold; font-style: italic;]Scarrgo 4th and [span style='font-weight: bold; font-style: italic;]Ruddy 8th), and only [span style='font-weight: bold; font-style: italic;]BigBadBunks (6th) recording
a profit of [span style='font-weight: bold;]$1.17.
The
final 8 days of the main roster for the month proved to be a mixed bag
with both [span style='font-weight: bold; font-style: italic;]Owen (impending nuptials) and [span style='font-weight: bold; font-style: italic;]SMJ69 (overseas) both missing their bets
([span style='font-weight: bold; font-style: italic;]SMJ69 made up his missed bet in month 5 but it was recorded
into this month's accounts with a nice [span style='font-weight: bold;]$17.55 profit on the 12th Feb). Donuts were unfortunately
recorded by [span style='font-weight: bold; font-style: italic;]Daveo (11th) and [span style='font-weight: bold; font-style: italic;]Hackers (14th), whilst [span style='font-weight: bold; font-style: italic;]Weazel (13th) managed a collect without quite making
a profit. However, there was good news during the final 8 days of the
main roster with [span style='font-weight: bold; font-style: italic;]SwallowItDown (9th) [span style='font-weight: bold;]$8.13, [span style='font-weight: bold; font-style: italic;]Fish (10th) [span style='font-weight: bold;]$32.50 and [span style='font-weight: bold; font-style: italic;]Bucko (16th) [span style='font-weight: bold;]$57.90, all recording nice profits to ensure they each made
it into the top 5 punters for the month and therefore get another crack!!!
With
the main roster finished (apart from the 4 missed betting days for [span style='font-weight: bold; font-style: italic;]Nimrodr, [span style='font-weight: bold; font-style: italic;]BlueBeliever, [span style='font-weight: bold; font-style: italic;]Owen & [span style='font-weight: bold; font-style: italic;]SMJ69), it was time for the top 5 of [span style='font-weight: bold; font-style: italic;]Lenh191, [span style='font-weight: bold; font-style: italic;]Bucko, [span style='font-weight: bold; font-style: italic;]TheOnion, [span style='font-weight: bold; font-style: italic;]Fish and [span style='font-weight: bold; font-style: italic;]SwallowItDown to have their 2nd
shot.
Unfortunately [span style='font-weight: bold; font-style: italic;]Lenh191 (20th) recorded a donut with his 2nd
shot, and [span style='font-weight: bold; font-style: italic;]TheOnion (19th) had a small collect without managing
to record a profit. However, [span style='font-weight: bold; font-style: italic;]Bucko (18th) recorded a healthy [span style='font-weight: bold;]$42.09 profit, [span style='font-weight: bold; font-style: italic;]Fish (20th) chipped in with a [span style='font-weight: bold;]$9.74 profit, and [span style='font-weight: bold; font-style: italic;]SwallowItDown (21st) managed
a sound [span style='font-weight: bold;]$20.51
profit, rounding out the month nicely!!!
As for
the 4 missed bets, as mentioned above [span style='font-weight: bold; font-style: italic;]SMJ69 chimed in with a nice profit when
he returned from overseas and took his missed bet on the 12th
Feb which was recorded in the month 4 accounts. [span style='font-weight: bold; font-style: italic;]Nimrodr unfortunately couldn't salute
the judge when becoming available on the 19th for his bet. [span style='font-weight: bold; font-style: italic;]BlueBeliever asked for his missed bet to be rolled over into
his allocated amount in month 5, and [span style='font-weight: bold; font-style: italic;]Owen will have his missed bet rolled over
into his allocated amount in month 6 (as will both [span style='font-weight: bold; font-style: italic;]Choppers and [span style='font-weight: bold; font-style: italic;]Fish with missed bets from the first 2
months when they were also unavailable due to being overseas).
So where
did this place the monthly performance for the club in month 4 I hear
you ask!!!
Well,
the answer to that is month 4 of W2SP club operations finally resulted
in us recording our first ever monthly profit with a total of [span style='font-weight: bold;]$468.95 [span style='font-style: italic; text-decoration: underline;]staked for a [span style='font-style: italic; text-decoration: underline;]return of [span style='font-weight: bold;]$562.14 - a profit of [span style='font-weight: bold;]$93.19 for the month - Hooray, black ink in the monthly profit/loss
column for the first time!!! o/
Now
that takes the overall 4 month record of club operations to [span style='font-weight: bold;]$2002.65 [span style='font-style: italic; text-decoration: underline;]staked for a [span style='font-style: italic; text-decoration: underline;]return of [span style='font-weight: bold;]$1734.43 and a [span style='font-style: italic; text-decoration: underline;]loss of [span style='font-weight: bold; color: #ff0000;]$268.22 - [span style='font-weight: bold; font-style: italic; text-decoration: underline;]hopefully we can keep
the good results rolling in from here!!!
