OK, so trading period starts on Monday, but we can have off the record conversations in secret behind the bus shelter to figure out who is keen on who or whatever.

So I thought I would just put up my pre-trading trading block for people who may want to talk about a trade before the trade period officially starts (In Oklahoma they call them Sooners)

We need a playing ruck, and would like to improve our draft position, all players are negotiable, none are off-limits but some are freaking expensive.

Available for trade from the Chooks:
    Jordan Murdoch (Mid)
    Farren Ray (Mid)
James Kelly (Mid/Def? - who knows)
    Sam Colquhoun (Mid)
    Seb Ross (Mid)
    Lin Jong (Fwd/Mid)
    Kane Mitchell (Fwd/Mid)
Matthew Stokes (Fwd/Mid? - who knows)
    Matthew Pavlich (Fwd)
    Cory Gregson (Fwd)
    Andrew Walker (Def/Fwd)

Obviously, there is varying quality/value among this list, so not all of these players will be given up for free. I am looking for draft picks better than the ones I have, possibly a defender if they are of enough quality (they don't have to be great, just solid). I am also happy to package one of these players with my pick 11 to improve my first round selection for those of you that have a top 10 pick. Not all of these players would be suitable to be included in this package though.

Everyone else is basically off limits. I guess you could try, but I can't imagine it working.

    Rosa (def/mid)
    Wellingham (def)
Carlisle (def/fwd) – Will be out for the year – bloody Essendon

    Lang (fwd)
    Moore (fwd)
    Heeney (fwd)
    Caddy (mid)
    Duncan (mid)

At the moment the Cows' side is pretty settled, but if you want to shake it up with an offer this is the time of year to do so. I have copied part of the most recent member's newsletter (on the Cows' thread) to save you guys having to so too much looking around.

    Defenders
Jarrad McVeigh (D/M), Jeremy McGovern, Harry Taylor, Jarryn Geary, Ryan Harwood will be the backbone of the defence. Alex Neal-Bullen (D/M) and Nic Newman represent the development future. If the two kids come on as hoped then an established defender is superfluous. [As most of you are aware Michael Hibberd is currently enjoying a well earned sabbatical / study leave preparing for his doctoral defence on "Zen and the role of the modern mobile defender."]

    Midfielders
Nathan Fyfe, Dan Hannebery, Tom Mitchell, Brad Crouch, Nick Graham and Nick Dal Santo are the base of the midfield and interchange lines. I am looking for a young talent who will not look out of place with the core guys.

    Rucks
Sam Jacobs, Callum Sinclair (F/R), Dawson Simpson and Reilly O'Brien. We love our rucks at the Cows. However, Dawson might be available to another club - a deal involving a favourable draft pick and/or a young mid would secure his services perhaps a depth forward as part of the deal?

    Forwards
Mitch Robinson (F/M), Jamie Elliott, Daniel Menzel and Toby Mclean (along with Sincs) are the probably forward line. Depth comes from Ben Griffiths, Mason Wood and Matty Wright. Given the numbers that is a source of a trade for anyone looking for depth in their forward line.

The identity of the last two to be cut pre the PSD (Duffman and HMac are gawn) will be a real heartache. A blockbuster deal for one of our 18 settled players might solve that problem. The development of O'Brien, Newman and McKenzie is something we are really looking forward to so please do not enquire.

In summary I am looking for a high quaIity young midfielder (or a first round draft pick) and am a liitle long on forwards and defenders. I am going fishing (reality fishing for things that live in the water not trawling the thread) next week so a reply before Tuesday evening or after Friday evening is best.

    Wagga Wagga's current squad:

DEF: R.Murphy, Roberton, Macmillan, Pittard, Sheppard, S.D.Thompson, Van Berlo (D/M), O'Shea, Dempsey, Impey
MID: Shiel, Prestia, Watson, D.Swallow, Gibbs, Bastinac, Melksham
    RUC: Longer
FWD: Tippett (F/R), Franklin, Sheed (F/M), Lycett, Jenkins, L.Thomas, M.Clark, Lennon, M.Jones, Ahern

    These players are untradeable:
    - Shiel
    - Prestia
    - D.Swallow
    - Franklin
    - Tippett
    - Sheed

These players come with a high price:
    - R.Murphy
    - Roberton
    - Pittard
    - Sheppard
    - Macmillan
    - Gibbs

These players are tradeable at a fair price:
    - S.D.Thompson
    - Van Berlo
    - Bastinac
    - Longer
    - Lycett
    - Jenkins
    - L.Thomas
    - Lennon

These players are on the block:
    - O'Shea
    - Dempsey
    - Impey
    - Watson
    - Melksham

I am looking for a couple of solid 85-95ave midfielders as well as forwards, as those areas lack the most depth.

As an update to the original list after a couple of trades:

Remain on the hunt for a ruckman (a playing ruckman, but doesn't have to be a world beater) and a mid or two. Age, security of position in best 22 and scoring average will all be considered.

Also, given my draft picks in the coming draft are 20, 85, 103 and 121 I may be on the lookout for a draft pick in return for a player of mine. But we'll see.

    TOP OF TREE
    Rance (Rich - def)
    Ibbotson (Freo - def)
    Haynes (GWS - def)
    Saad (GC - def)
    Armitage (Stk -mid)
    Greenwood (Coll - mid)
    Hill (Haw -mid)
    Tyson (Melb - mid)
    Newnes (Stk - mid)
    Coniglio (GWS - mid)
    Westhoff (PA - fwd)
    Walters (Freo - fwd)
    Shane Edwards (Rich - mid/fwd)

    UPPER BRANCHES
    May (GC -def)
    Maric (Rich - ruck)
Gleeson (Ess - not suspended - def)
    Harvey (NM - fwd)
    Vickery (Rich - fwd)
    Brown (NM - fwd)

    MIDDLE BRANCHES
    Butler (WCE - def)
    Jonas (PA - def)
    Lyons (Adel - mid/fwd)
    Hrovat (WB - fwd)
Shaun Edwards (Ess - not suspended - fwd)
    Smith (Carl - def/fwd)

    LOWER BRANCHES
    Wood (Carl - ruck)

NOTE: I'll be quite receptive to offers on a number of players from the list above - including:
DEF: One of Gleeson or Butler, as well as Smith and perhaps Haynes.
FWD: One of Lyons or Hrovat, as well as Smith and perhaps Shaun Edwards

Iron Knob have been dealt a cruel blow by the SC positioning Gods and find ourselves with up to 11 starting midfielders for 2016
    Trading opens Feb 1 but you are welcome to enquire via PM for the services of the following midfielders;

Luke Hodge (108.2 avg) - Ol Hodgey is a superstar and had a great year last year, your offer should reflect his ability
Ryan Griffen (90.7 avg) - Griffen was up and down and finished with a 90 avg, I think year 2 at GWS will be kind to him, expect him back over 100 for 2016, I still rate him as a premium mid.
Koby Stevens (86.5 avg) - This up and comer had a breakout year with 7 scores over 80 and 3 100's I would love to keep him but just cant justify it in the very crowded Codpieces midfield. Serious offers for his talent are required.
Mitch Hallahan (78.9 avg) - 5 scores over 80 and 2 100's in a injury shortened season this kid has some strength and wins the hard ball.
David Mackay (60.6 avg) - Crows man had a down year, been in their best 22 forever and factors to be so again in 2016.

What I want? - Consider their averages as a starting point. If you have a FWD/DEF/RUCK averaging 80+ then come and talk to me and we might be able to work something out. Draft picks are always welcome as are young up and comers.

A ruckman I can count on for 22 games would be much sought after.

A further and probably final update -
I am willing to trade away a forward - Hrovat or Smith (who is a D/F) if anyone is interested. However my defenders' list is probably set now.

Misfits find ourselves with a delist dilemma, after identifying delists we have one more player than we must have, but want them all, PMs welcome offering an appropriate pick (less than 57, our current outlier) for a Misfit.
