It was a probably too subtle dig at people having 1 or 2 name shortlists with 10 picks to go, though in truth my list, ranked in order of preference and all deemed potential assets is actually 77 long, TTH will be pleased to know the average age on the list is 21.54
good to see you should be covered to round 27/28, after that it will pretty much be throwing darts at the dart board anyway
The list I compiled the other day that I forgot to take to work on Friday still has 45 available names on it, which I thought was extensive. 77 is a lot!
I have two lists, "Must selectts", which has about 5 names per round, and my "Well if I have to" which has 30-40 names"
Mate you're off your head... ive bitten my tongue for so long its completely gone so now i need to say something. Who has actually stated they will give up their team since the draft commenced? Stowie or Ant or whomever it was begrudgingly responded the other day because theyre both just really really nice people and would probably give you the shirt of their collective backs, but its not like anyone jumped out of their skin to quit. Are you giving up your team? I really cant comprehend the motivation behind this post and your continued quest to up-heave what we've got in favour of "new faces". Id dearly love an explanation because i must be clearly missing something here.... surely.... arent i?
hey mate I can assure you I am not off my head, I concur that Stowie and Ant are great people, and no I wasn't planning on giving up my team My logic was that by count we are currently 6 newbys and 10 doubling up for the 3 existing ORFF's, most of which have previously stated that they were keen to hand over once new coaches came along and most of which have indicated (IIRC) that they were less keen to fully partake in admin etc due to the doubled up commitment and one or 2 newbys would be the most I would expect this season. In terms of my "continued quest to upheave" I certainly haven't intended to give you or anyone else any reason to feel that your participation isn't valued - if all 16 coaches want to stay on forever then great that would be an ideal outcome in my book. In the interest of clarity I am not currently intending to amend or delete the post to which you linked, but if someone else other than yourself requests this I am happy to do so, alternatively plenty of the ORFFF participants have TS admin rights and can do this without my involvement without any skin off my nose whatsoever. If this explanation is not complete enough or if any previous actions or comments have urked you - which from your tone and comments I suspect they have - then if needed you can either pm me (preferred) or contact me via my (shared) email address. Cheers TTH
I kind of get where you are both coming from tbh, but my concern is simple, you asked "Like this post, or (words to the effect of) reply stating you are willing to still give up your squad" No-one liked the post and I took ant's post to be quite grudging in that I felt it conveyed he would rather hang on.. To be frank, I know for a fact JC actually wanted to stay in but felt obliged to step aside as the last one in.. Given that less than vociferous level of response, the blog post stunned me too, which sides are you knowing are up for grabs that we don't know about? I ask quite seriously because that may give me some lacking draft and trading insight if I know who is or isn't committed.
I think one thing TTH is focussed on is new "dedicated" blood for the TS keeper community, and that I can fully support, with the concerns stated in the previous post..
This. But you posting directly contradicts this because what if someone comes in interested but then finds out there's no coaches willing to leave? What happens then? The post gives an underlying assumption there are franchising open. It's clear that's a false assumption that even you don't buy into. There's only anthak as recently stated he's happy to move on and maybe a couple of others previously but that's it and you posting "like this post" got zero response. That's pretty emphatic. I have no problem with you continuing being the Commie and running this, TTH, but you asked for a response, got one, did the opposite anyway and now doubling-down on that. None of it makes sense. Meanwhile, we're in the middle of a draft. Timing.
Solid pick Ant, although am mystified with SC giving him Mid only when he mainly plays half back - has been earmarked with a change in role this season, will be given a chance to take on the defensive forward role with Gus out for the season (and very possibly having his career cut short). Was strongly considering picking him sometime in last 5 rounds if he lasted (with his uncertainty to play much in next year or 2 I honestly didn't feel he really merited a pick before then, but each to their own)!!!
yeah, took a bit of a flier on him. I hesitated a lot and didnt really want to pick him this high either, but then just did it. I had someone else earmarked for the pick, but then changed my mind a few times and then again at the last minute after already typing the other bloke's name.
Yeah, I done the same thing earlier in draft with Hogan, didn't want to pick him till 1 or 2 picks later but ended up worrying he wouldn't even last until my next pick when I did grab him. Pretty sure I done the same with a couple of other selections later on too!!!
