Menadue / Gresham / Tucker in the last 4 picks - short list just got much shorter.

Clearly Chris has an insider working down at ChiefBet.

First two lines of betting right there.

Bama probably deserves a bit of luck with his defence. Matty Boyd becoming defender eligible is the cherry on top of the cake

Re a trade for a draft pick Len. Been nutting this over and I wonder if there should be constraint on a potential trade like that for #30 based on where we are in the draft. We are at pick #28, should the deal be open until pick #30 is up on should it be earlier? We have an 18 hr window for each pick. Does that start while the negotiations are happening? Then time to review - does that stop the clock. None of these are issues if ownership of the asset that is pick #30 is non-transferable when pick #29 is up (i.e., immediately after pick 28 is taken).

Thanks for the vote of confidence guys but injuries have smashed me over the years. It is nice to have a decent ruck and backline for once though.

I initially had similar thoughts, mostly around time taken between pick and trade passing, but tbh it might be too restrictive, imo most of the time people are trading for an upcoming pick they are likely to be doing it for a specific player, therefore if the player was picked in the last two spots the trade wouldn't have the same value.
Definitely something we can discuss post this run though, I'm not disagreeing with the idea, just that as expressed it would serve to stop trading in some instances, which may or may not be a bad thing, I'd just prefer for now we run with what I've typed up simply because it is simple and then post draft discuss how we can do it better next time :)

Hey guys, Fitzy sent me a few players he was interested in earlier this morning for me to pick for him but they have all been taken, he won't be able to pick until around 5:30-6

Guessed you would have thought of the implications Len - just wanted to be sure.

To be frank, not as much as I would have liked, as most of you would know I wasn't a supporter of trading during drafts because I could see a heap of complications, and these are things that need to be aired and discussed for sure.

Partially because work is maniacal at the moment, and partially because I think it's a sensible approach I'm keen to keep it very simple, minimalise rules guidelines etc until we see impact and have a chance to discuss those impacts collectively at leisure.

A 4 hour delay is hardly unusual in a draft, but lengthy enough that those who advocate veto rights can express themselves, personally I think if we caught a coach cheating we'd kick him out, kind of obviating the need for vetos at all, but I digress, again, minimal rules for now, am sure it can work if we all work to make it so.

Hey lads, Venus Bay and Wagga Wagga have struck a trade of picks

Wagga Wagga hand over #29 and #67 for Venus Bays picks #45 and #46

As a relatively new thing to the ORFFA (trading mid draft) @Len can you just give this the tick of approval before I take my picks? I would as trade commish if I wasn't involved in the trade... :)

I'm good with it mate, though we'll have to wait till 10 20 odd before you use 29.

OK no worries, no point using #28 yet then, a player I'm thinking of taking is playing tonight anyway so I can make sure he doesn't do an ACL before picking him now :)

Yeah, hoping that 4 hour thing becomes a lot closer to straight away in the next draft tbh

Yeah would be handy if it did! Ah well hopefully those who hold the next few picks can come online around 10:20-10:30ish or whenever this trade goes through and we can get on a roll! Not that I'll be pushing it to others on the draft going slow, sorry again for the hold up!
