Quick auction: Sam Butler: Eagles veteran defender (just turned 30) - 14 games in 2015 at an average of 72. Has averaged 70 or above every year bar one since 2010. After a draft pick in the coming PSD - third round? Fourth round? Something like that I guess. Auction ends Friday evening, March 4 at 9pm.
Auction done - pick 63 for Sam Butler (who was in fine form y'day evening I might add). Hope he goes OK for you Bandit
OK, This could get a lot of interest or donuts! I'm going to tempt the premiership window folk, and maybe some who are aiming at it for next year. I'm going to put two players up for auction, Cale Hooker and Andrew Swallow. Swallow is 28, Hooker is 27. Swallow averaged 94 last year coming back from injury. Hooker is a top 10 defender in the league. Hooker averaged mid-high 90s, but only had one score under 90... he is super consistent! However he is not eligible for this year, but logic says he will retain his dual position status next year. The Roos will be there or thereabouts this year, the Dons we all know about.. I'm looking for YOUNG players... under 23, not really bothered about position, although a regularly playing defender will be preferred. I'm going through a development phase, and I don't expect to be pushing the top 4 for another 2 years. Depending on the player, you need to consider throwing in 2017 PSD draft picks as well. I do not want MSD picks. I don't really have an idea of reserve, and obviously if you are in the window you aren't going to swap out a first 15 player... but I'll consider any offer on it's merits. You can bid for one, or both players... remember I need the same number of players back. So here is a chance to improve your first 15, by trading me one of your future stars. I'm not keen on adding any other players from my list to the deal. Auction will run until Friday 18 March 9pm AEST.
3 Players? There is only 2... and can be bid on as a package or individually. I guess what I am looking for is a 75-80+ scoring player or players in return, you get the immediate upside of a 15+ point jump on your scoring. If the players aren't at that level, then I reckon you should be considering throwing in PSD picks
Except that Hooker won't play this year, so the "immediate upside" would probably be yours and may not be quite so immediate for the buyer.
You must have jumped on it in the 30 seconds between me posting and then editing lol. Jack was on there, and Le Cras was on there as well for about 10 seconds, but I'm set on these two now. Apologies for the confusion
For Cale Hooker I bid my first round PSD pick in 2017 - only seems fair, a buy now, pay later and play later arrangement. I will also swap my 3rd round PSD pick for your fourth, Bandit.
In theory this should be a legal bid, but in reality it isn't, if he gives you Hooker and you don't give a player back he has 27 players and you have 29, even though one can't play. This is a deal that could be done at the end of the year, or even at MSD when evening is an option.
Len - thanks. I made the bid and then wondered if it was one which actually worked as a legal bid. Thanks for clarifying. I'll have a rethink.
