Well isn't that going to be annoying when he goes in the side next week....

St Kilda has finalised its Round 1 side to face Port Adelaide at Adelaide Oval on Sunday, with the Saints’ 2015 first-round draft pick Jade Gresham earning a debut.

Tom Lee, Tom Curren and Jack Sinclair were the three players to be omitted from the preliminary squad named on Thursday night.

I cannot afford both BenKen & Gresham. Which is the best combination?

@Jason or anyone else, how likely is Dunkley to stay in the best 22? Better or worse choice than Hewett, or get both?

Very hard to get a read on the Bulldogs selection thought process at the minute.

I'm genuinely surprised that Dunkley was named to debut. He was good in NAB2 but didn't get a gig in NAB3 which was supposed to be the dress rehearsal. He must have impressed in the VFL last weekend more than I thought. Of the players not selected that might displace him, Jong is probably the main one.

My gut tells me that Hewett has better job security, but my heart is wanting my M10 to be a bulldog rather than a swan. Right now I have Hewett but not Dunkley. I think it will stay that way for R1. If Dunkley kills it across R1-2 then he can be a correction trade.

Yeah its a call everyone is no doubt having to make. I have gone the other way purely based on the Swans missing four best 22 guys in McVeigh, Reid, Richards and McGlynn. None of which are too far from being fit. Admittedly, Hewett isn't competing directly with all these guys but one would expect he and Papley will be the first in the gun.

I've heard that Robinson is more likely to make way for McVeigh than Hewett.

Papley definitely has McGlynn's spot. But like most rookies, if he can perform he can keep it for as long as that holds true. There are others like Cuningham who could make way for McGlynn rather than Papley. We can only hope!

For anyone who might not have seen it, we are running a poll over here as to who will be your captain for R1.

I heard from reliable sources that dunkley wouldn't be playing if Dickson was.

Js not great, but he has every chance to grab hold now.

Good point, forgot about Robinson. You lads might have almost convinced me. You can bet your bottom dollar that going Hewett now will result in :spud::spud::spud:

I've been on him for weeks, not going to change my mind within hours of his match being locked out.
You'd better not have cursed him though! ;)

Saturday Morning shenanigans - I really want the ability to VC loophole with Gaz against the Bombers just in case, so I've pulled this move:
Grimley out of R3 for Mason Cox. Given he is less likely to play that left me exposed (Had no R/F in the FWD line) so I swapped A. Hall (could have NAB Challenge fools gold written all over him) for Callum Sinclair who should hopefully 90+ in the Ruck regularly at the Swans.
Thumbs up or down for my way of thinking?
