    SCS v PP

The Parasites are out of the blocks early in The Battle of the Bugs III with Simpson collecting plenty of the pill on his way to 104 points.

Update from Groper Park: The teams appear evenly matched half way through the game with Southern Cross 5/398/79.6 trailing Packenham 10/802/80.2. With some big gun mids to come the locals are hopeful the new look Sandgropers can power home to win back to back Battle of the Bugs trophies.

Thanks e-e, looks like it could be a close finish. Be nice if I could pinch a win first up, I'm not very optimistic about how many others I'll pinch.
Hopefully my new additions Gaff and Newnes can show the club why we traded for them and pull out big scores to power us home. Good luck mate

Half time at Bull Park and with the visiting Prairie Dogs taking an early lead 9/832/92 to the Bulls 7/617/88 but with the Dogs midfield completely spent it leaves the door open for the Bulls to run them ragged for a win in the second half. It will be a battle of defences.

    Hughenden 832 / 9 ave 94
    Staghorn Flat 617 / 7 ave 88

Edit apologies batfink didn't see your post. At least we can both add up!

3 quarter time at the Eden Sporting Complex and Eden Whalers are leading 12/893 (74.42) to Blanchetown 9/660 (73.33) but the Bunyips still have 3 midfields to play so it could go either way.

Update from Groper Park: Deep into the last quarter The Parasites have run out of legs finishing on 1178/15/78.5 leading the home side 953/12/79.4. With Harry Taylor, Mitch Duncan & Cyril Rioli left to play the Sandgropers need 226 points for the win. The hometown fans are on the edge of their seats cheering the boys home.

Well folks, it's all over at both Banchang and Gisborne as the visiting Prospectors to Banchang, are done at 15/1106 and are trailing the Barcrawlers on 14/1153, with Selwood still to play, while at Gisborne the visitors there from Ararat (14/1343) have completely routed the home team who have finished on 977.

Sam Mitchell is still to play but it looks to be over with Blanchetown winning by 7, 14/1064 to 15/1057
But the results speak for themselves, with the exception of Swan, the Whalers had 7 of the 8 lowest scoring players... we have to do better than that. I am not sure to be assured or annoyed by Jenkins and his 91 in the 2s but I shall choose to be assured that we have the right players to win games. A well played game by Blanchetown though, even though down a man they still pushed on to win well and Kane Lambert played an exceptional game at his new side. All we can do now is hope Mitchell scores 122 or less so Murphy gets a vote.
Votes (so far): Lambert 3, Gray 2, Murphy 1.

A tight tussle at Mill Park with the visitors still holding on to the lead at 3/4 time

    Hughenden 1123/13 ave 86.4
    Staghorn Flat 1018/12 ave 84.8

It will be a battle of Hughenden forwards to the Staghorn Flat defence. Game on!

Thanks for the write up mate... pretty annoyed with new draftee Swan going down hard for up to 12 weeks. Lets hope he gets back on the park soon!

Full time at 'Groper Park and a fast finishing Southern Cross 1202/15/80 has run over the top of visiting Pakenham 1178/15/78.5. Coach @ddsaints could be heard yelling at his players from the car park as the Sandgropers made it back to back wins in the Battle of the Bugs. The Homeside were happy with the win but are under no illusions that 1200 points will win many matches; thankfully there's plenty of improvement in the list and round 1 will be viewed as just blowing out the cobwebs. Full match report to follow.

    BAFFU
    3 - PP G.Ablett (139)
    2 - SCS M.Duncan (108)
    1 - SCS D.Prestia (107)

In a thriller at Mill Park it appears the Bulls have won by 2pts. Final score check underway.

Hughenden cursed by the one ruck policy and oop player who was the Ruck probably being the difference.
