Consternation at the Cows' Match Committee Meeting. No, the red wine was not poor. Rather the learned group faced their first weekend with more than 15 players available. Only 16 but, hey, that's >15. When the club captain Macca's name was confirmed we, sorry they, moved from some very agreeable recent syrah into the excellent 2007 portion of the club's cellar. Their notes are a little wine stained but it looks like this is the result of their prognostications: Cows round 4 team to play Chris's Inflatables D - J McGovern, H Taylor, R Harwood, D Howe*^ (E - A Neal-Bullen^) M - N Fyfe, D Hannebery, T Mitchell, N Graham R - S Jacobs F - M Robinson, D Menzel, T McLean*, C Sinclair (E - T Campbell) I/C - A Hall, J McVeigh^ (E - M Wood^) * denotes eligible for the Rising Star award ^ denotes a player not selected for last week's fiasco
Really looking forward to the TiB v. sNoZ game. Two teams that have always looked good on paper but consistently failed to deliver. Until 2016. Less parochialism in the most recent draft(s) - but still some one eyed picks - may have contributed to the sense of occasion. Two of the older stalwarts of the Association meet. Let's get it on guys. The only thing missing is a ChiefBet special market. Perhaps TiB at $1.70 and sNoZ at $2.10?

A well done to Chris and the Inflatables for a strong performance. The 1320 score was impressive - third best of the round. A couple of heifers (young Cows for those not familiar with farming) need to start hunting the ball rather than headlines or risk being culled. In the event of a cull, the schnitzel sammies at the Bulls Hit Tavern may have a slightly unusual flavour.
Thanks graeme - the gents played well. Still a few passengers but also a bit of depth in the reserves which is good - Brown, Gleeson, Greenwood. Hopefully Hill and Maric will return soon. Will need to find a replacement for Mr May who won't be playing for a while by the looks. Want to mention the Lilacs who, for the wont of 80 points over the course of three of the first four rounds, would be 3-1 and safely ensconced in the top 6. With guys like Parish, Heeney and Hartung starting to fly, the Lilacs are definitely coming.
The Nuffers have just gone to bed after celebrating an unexpected win. Bonus was catching up with Grant Hackett on the flight home. We got one of those mystery flights for the trip home. We got to appreciate Wine Bay's dedication to their sponsor's product first hand and we see them as a serious challenger to our party club status.
