Thanks guys, it's annoying but not too bad. Now that everyone knows it can be done I'm sure someone else will step up and have a similar thing running in no time.
The only ones I am definitely guilty off are 'transfer' and 'store'. The rest is debatable. This clause isn't in the SC terms and conditions, it might be in the website terms of use. I couldn't actually find them (but I didn't look very hard either).
I only just found your site mate and it's an absolute ripper! very sorry that its been banned/flagged/frowned upon. Not like youre hurting anyone?!?!?! Damn THE MAN!
Cheers, if you really love it click on all the ads, then google gives me money every 100 clicks buys 1 beer at MCG prices News Corp were actually pretty good sports about it. They could have come hard with the legal angle, but instead they gave me a call and had a chat. Which was pretty good.
It sounds like if someone is not registered to play Supercoach they can do whatever they want (copy, store, distribute) to their hearts content as they would not be bound by the T&C's So #1 question - can someone not registered to play Supercoach access the individual team pages ?? My expectation is that they can. It wouldn't be hard to check either. Just login to a computer without logging into SC and see whether you can see this http://supercoach.heraldsun.com.au/afl/classic/other_teams?tid=120710 then repeat 300,000 times for team ids 1-300,000. #2 question - I guess is why would someone do this if they aren't a SC player - unless of course there is a commercial benefit or they can do so as part of a high school/uni project or to improve their IT skills ??
The real issue is that I didn't make any attempt to be anonymous. The website is linked to my name, which is in thier sc login database. Hence they know who I am and have my phone number, email etc. I could have hidden my identity which would have made it difficult and costly to shut the site down. Hindsight hey. My understanding is that they couldn't have identified me just from the activities of my login.
So you shut it down, and then someone else opens a pretty similar site running off servers located in Sweden. What's the bet that this type of information weeds itself into SC gold next season?
I think I'll be running for at least another week or two. In that time I fully expect someone to scrape all the data from my site and open a clone as soon as I shut down. Hopefully they want to buy the domain as well
Really should have kept it to yourself but oh well, least you were open about it and they were not heavy handed on you.

Ha ha guy incognito is such a great character Kudos on getting the font right too. But seriously, I won't be continuing with the site. The potential hassle is not worth it (also it is actually costing me money).
Sorry to hear jp. Though many purists frowned upon this, I personally applaud what you have been doing. As alluded, the popularity of it indicates that someone else will probably pick it up or become a paywall sc feature.
