    TipBetPro Tips

Amongst a host of expected one-sided encounters, TipBetPro see two upsets (going off current odds) in Round 8 of action.

The first upset is the blockbuster to start off the round where the Cats are on fire and should have too many guns for the Crows. Adelaide fans will hate this but the difference in the teams looks to be Patrick Dangerfield which gives Geelong a commanding midfield advantage that we expect to convert into an overwhelming inside 50 advantage to the Cats. With Josh Jenkins, Eddie Betts and Taylor Walker - the Crows do have the more potent forward line once it gets in there but weight of opportunity should see Geelong home and our model has a 60% confidence of a Cats victory.

For our second upset we turn our attention once again to the Blues who have won 3 in a row and we think are a great chance of making it 4 in a row against a flaky (albeit improving) Port Adelaide side. The Blues are at home, virtually at full fitness, are in good form with their defence in particular holding up well and have an in-form midfield (how good is Patrick Cripps!). With Robbie Gray still missing from Port, the Blues midfield will be well placed to once again take advantage of what should be a ruck dominance over a Power side likely to once again turn to an under-sized Jackson Trengove to do the majority of their ruckwork. The big doubt on the Blues is that their forward line is still rated by TipBetPro as the worst in the AFL. However, the likes of Liam Jones and Levi Casboult have shown improved form in recent weeks (albeit from a low base) and Bryce Gibbs looks threatening forward of centre and we think the Blues have enough talent to kick a winning score at home to sneak away with the win.

I don't think I've ever seen a bigger disparity between tipping percentages and actual odds

Finally everyone else is on the "Sydney will fall" bandwagon that we were on at the start of the year.

      Bing likes the Tigers too.

Wowzers. What the hell am I missing?

The JPK out makes it closer, but damn, had Sydney winning comfortably!

      So do we.
I wish all these tipsters would place a bet on Richmond and bring the odds down - then I can go bet on Sydney.

Flaky??? Didn't see anything to back this up after the 1/4 time tweaks last week.

Actually, the past 2 weeks the Port midfield has looked a hell of a lot better without Robbie, working harder and having more contribute.
In regards to your call on Trengove, did you see last week's game - he might not have won the hit-outs, but he smashed the Lions midfield in the clearances, and that was against a far better ruckman than Kruezer!!!
As soon as Port made tweaks to set up to losing ruck contests the game was over!!!

Can the Blues forwards contain the running Port defenders - Jasper, DBJ, Broadbent, Krack - throw in Hombsch and Jonas who have started to back themselves in to run a bit - sorry, but Jones and Casboult aren't the type of players to contain running defenders!!!

      Port by 6 goals - 85% confidence :p

Well we're no Bing (nice call on Richmond - maybe you should concentrate on footy tipping rather than being a search engine) ... but pretty happy with those two upset wins. Unlucky Bearfly - Robbie Gray impending return will make a huge difference to Port Adelaide

      It is going well actually.
On the upward trend like Carlton been.
Tipped Carlton at weekend but at about 58%..:p

Biggest one I had for weekend was GWS at 82% confidence.

I like how the tipbetpro tips have their confidence level shown as that is how I enter my own tips.

I only use their tips as a guide, and I have perfect justification in that approach considering I'm batting above their 53!!!!

Interesting how they go this week against Hawks after dropping a game to Tigers they should have sewn up on last minute.
We will learn a lot about Sydney prospects this year in Friday's nights game.

      Well done picking Carlton again.
You been quick to pick up they were on improve whilst others not catching on.
