Some very good points there.

I'm finding it hard to pick which back man to bring in this year as they all have pretty strong negatives apart from Shaw and Simpson (which I already have both) or injury troubles to Laird and Houli .

Of the other main options,
Docherty - Priced around peak and if the Blues fall away so to might his points as his history isn't strong like a Simpson
Rance - Inconsistent and now has a poor MRP record but no Houli might make more points available, price on the way down, later
McVeigh - Has a strong history but so far 2016 has shown very little, price on the way down, later
Gibson - Very up and down and likely to miss the odd game being managed but priced ok this week and good BE
Bartel - Average ok but not rested yet which would be at least two games
Enright - 95 Ave 2015 and same so far in 2016 and rested once already, how many more? priced well with low BE
Birchall - Struggling to average over 90

Out of all this I would prefer Gibson or Enright but not convinced, this was when my mind wandered to a risky Trengrove option. I don't think I have to coconuts to do it though.

Your right there, not too many hit outs. His last game he had poor DE and I think 4 clangers so he could have easily had to 100's in two games in the ruck. Very risky one but if you fill you backline up and he become you 1st bench player then it could be viable. Maybe. But I doubt I will do it!
