Round 10 (AFL 10) … Geek Pride Round Geek Pride day is on May 25th. The universal Geek manifesto decrees the rights of the Geek to be many. Here is a taste: Right to be more geek. Right to stay home. Right not like it football or sport (WHAT! Ahh, must taking about Soccer. Phew!) Right to have few friends (or none). Right not to be fashionable. Right to overweight and myopia. Right to dominate the world. Quite a few changes at the Bar this week.. Hartley gets a run in the ruck, with Jaksch potentially named for the first time this year as his backup. Darraweit team to be trounced by the Lefties: Ins: Adams (def), May (sacked as skills coach) Tyson (mid), Ben Brown (for my rotating fourth forward spot of doom and marshmallows). Out: McGovern (weary after filling rotating fourth forward spot of doom last week and eating too many marshmallows), Ibbotson (plays for Freo), Jonas (coached by Steven May), Hill (can't comment on ongoing legal proceedings) Nice to see Shaun Edwards get a game for the Dreamtime fixture. Kid can play, hasn't had much of a chance this year. I think I am over Friday night's dinner party though there are still wine bottles to be carried downstairs. Nice guests - at least they did not throw the empties at the wheelie bin. The Swans v GWS game, sorry the Cows v the Misfits, looks like being close with, typically, our opponents posting one of their better scores this season. After Saturday evening's games your very unreliable correspondent thinks the Misfits 1043/14 lead the Cows 863/9. Sad to see Len had an oop ruck who then pulled a hammy. Dang. The Cows three starting rucks wish to commiserate. Management would like to remind Len (and others) that there are only a few shopping weeks before the MSD. Young, established mids are the favoured currency. When I woke up (late and hungover) on Saturday I had a memory flash that TMitch had scored 178. Naturally I dismissed that and thought that perhaps the desert wine had unadvertised hallucinogenic properties. Turns out it was in fact correct (the score, not the hallucinogenic properties) - oh yeah, keep it up my son.
There'll be no upset at the paddock mate, with a conservative 450 still to come from your lot unless mighty mouse can extract a 300 the Cows are home by many The rucks are an issue, but not one trading will fix, Ryder will be back next year, Phillips hopefully in the next week or two and Flynn is starting to tear up the NEAFL, and thus old man time is responsible for fixing the Misfits big guy issue
Looks like I am going to waste a near 1300 on a week I was never going to win. Probably sums up the season.
1280 in a loss, two guys have awful games and two others I am considering trading are my two highest scorers. A confusing, unhappy effort all round.
Not much luck your way and plenty mine this week Chris. Half my squad played well overs whereas most of yours either broke even or well down. I was averaging 1285 leading in so was expecting a close one. Unfortunately Gibbo and BJ had their pockets full of salt. btw If the Hoff is on the table...you know my number.
