@ddsaints Ablett scorches as he single handedly snatches the win for the parasites Vikings1165 Parasites 1209
I can't understand this. Ablett wasn't that good today, and statistically he definitely wasn't the second best player on the ground - no way!!!
Fair point....Maybe his hard ball gets and tackles weighed into it. Was good to see him back in action either way. Little champ
All good I'm just disappointed to lose all I needed was sheuy to beat ablett for the win . well done too experienced Sent from my GT-N7105T using Tapatalk
Was a good game mate. Both teams basically equal on total points before the match, was always going to be close. I was very lucky to come away with the points, even with your jnrs you put up a tough fight. Great game mate and thanks for the updates. I've been super lucky all year scraping by a few teams, doesn't really give me much confidence come the run home.....
Full time at Groper Park and @insider 's visiting Armadillos (15/1522/101) put on a master class to join the 1500 club in defeating the Sandgropers (15/1134/76). Eight tons to three tells the story of the match; Gawn (167) dominated in the ruck, and midfielders Steven (138), Treloar (103) & a rejuvenated Gibbs (140) feasted on his tap work. Their centre square dominance contributed to all four of the best forward line in the league tonning up with Edwards (114), Dalhaus (119), Wingard (136) and Wells (103) wowing the crowd. For the home side Cyril (116) turned it on in indigenous round, Duncan (108) continued his good form and Hunter (102) probably locked in another 5 votes in the lucky find. Prestia (94) & Darling (91) confirmed their value as off season trades and rookie Blakely (97) backed up his 122 of last week to push for a spot in the starting midfield. At the end of the day it wasn't a totally abysmal performance by the home side more a preview to what Ararat are capable of when they're injury free & switched on. After witnessing this performance I wouldn't be surprised to see the Armadillos take out their second flag in 3 seasons. BAFFU 5 - Gawn 167 (AA) 4 - Gibbs 140 (AA) 3 - Steven 138 (AA) 2 - Wingard 136 (AA) 1 - Dalhaus 119 (AA)
The Islander Cup heads back to Groote Eylandt with a convincing win at home. Scores Cudas 1,464 to the Smugglers 1,157. Match report to come.
Full Time at the Eden Sporting Complex and Serengeti win 1126 to 1073 and 3 fall to injury. Not sure how to describe this... it was ours to win, then Murphy and Leue fell and we just couldn't quite make the difference. Nick Smith being the only Swans player that didn't benefit from their win (also didn't help much). Curnow just outmatching Danger for BOG seemed fitting for Indigenous Round while the best defence in the league excelled almost beating our midfield for best line. Pretty sure it was just coincidence... (are curses a thing?) JPK commented on our depth, that was all... (Nothing untoward about that), Korumburra next week and it looks as though a few players will get call-ups. Eden Whalers 1073 Def: Williams 84, Wood 92, Malceski 65, Smith 42 (McStay) Mid: Curnow 128, Jones 103, Scully 83, Miles 80 Ruck: Leuenberger 0 Fwd: Boomer 46, Lynch 68, Jenkins 105, Griffiths 72 (Brown) IC: Murphy 12, Crisp 93 (Fasolo) Serengeti Buffalos 1126 D: Jasper Pittard 98, Steven May 92, Nick Haynes 101, Nick Vlastuin 90 (Cameron O'Shea) M: Patrick Dangerfield 127, Adam Oxley 49, Luke Dunstan 65, Jared Polec 49 R: Tom Hickey 79 F: Zac Merrett 74, Charlie Dixon 93, Corey Ellis 56, Brandon Matera 47 (Joe Daniher) I: Martin Gleeson 53, Rhys Mathieson 53 (Paddy McCartin) Votes: Curnow 3, Danger 2, Jenkins 1
It's full time at The Stadium and the visiting Blanchetown Bunyips have run out winners in a low scoring affair, 15/1176 to Banchang's 14/1062. Armitage 149 and Pendles 118 laid the foundation for the win, while Banchang's defence of Docherty121, Tuohy 102 and Suckling 96 did their best to stem the flow of goals, but, already being a man down when Sam Gray missed the team bus, to have Adams 60 go down with a torn hammy, it was just too much for the locals and The Bunyips ran out worthy winners. BOG: 3. Armitage 149 Blanchetown 2. Docherty 121 Banchang 1. Pendlebury 118 Blanchetown
:O 2 in a row for the Buff! Thanks for the write up Holky, selection errors almost cost me but good to see the boys in defence living up to the hype. So torn on whether or not to cash in on Danger or build up around him once we get to the break...
I did think your depth was good @HOLKY I seem to be cursing everything recently - my 'FU team, my SC team, the donor team.... I'm getting really good at it (Side note, professional "cursing" will be available shortly. Prices will vary depending on the quality of the player, what relationship they have with any of my teams, and what time period we're looking at.) The really bad thing is, I wanted to say to you that I wished you'd performed like this when we played (or that we played this week, or something like that), but you still scored more than me!!!! Looks like its time for some wholesale changes at the Prospectors - we can't keep being middle of the road, its got to be either cups or spoons...!!!
Gisbrone Grenades 1138 defeated by Hughenden Prairie Dogs 1149 A match both teams could have won, and it showed in the tightness of the end scoreboard. It was a low-scoring scrappy match all game, both teams barely hitting the average of 75 per player. Neither side was really able to get going, but in the end it was the large numbers of low scores that cost Gisborne this match, which @Batfink will be relieved about. Leading from the back, McVeigh picked up some form with a 116 following a dry patch by his standards. None of the Prairie Dogs defenders could reach 80 let alone ton up, so the Grenades defensive coach will take some heart from that. Hombsch hit 84 in one of his best returns for the year, while Seedsman continues to disappoint with another low score of 59. Fisher, Spurr and Sheppard were all serviceable for the visitors, and Henderson had a lowish game by his standards with 59. The Grenades midfield has gone from being a top 8 contender to looking old and sluggish. Only Neale could stand up with a 118, which was matched by Shiel for the Prairie Dogs. Jack drove the point home, scoring 32 above his average with 120. The ruckmen were nothing to write home about, Langford somehow taking the points out of position with 25 beating an appalling Trent West 24. Christensen finally hit some form in the forwardline, scoring his highest for the year with 113, while young gun Steele disappointedwith only 29. Bruest almost tonned up, reaching 99, without much assistance from any other Hughenden forwards. Waite has dropped off from a career best start to the year, this week only reaching 53, but his average remains at 103. Harwood and Crozier both scored 90's coming off the bench, good returns from players who promise much for both clubs. A disappointing result from the Grenades, one that could have been won had a few more things gone right. Hughenden will be glad they didn't let this one slip, it keeps them right in the hunt for a top 8 finish.
Great write up, it was a scrappy affair which could have gone either way. Keeps HPD in touch with the 8 but unless there is some improvement it will be all for nothing.
Mate, Go thru all the rounds/teams and I'm sure you'll find plenty more, who aren't worth the score they're given, some of them might even be wearing blue and yellow. It's a friggin lottery, so why pick Ablett out.....
