@JPK might as well add Griffin's huge 22.5 points to your total mate, x-man missed the plane! Things are heating up in Coolgardie.

I already told you mate, I'll take the hit on all my fantasy teams for an Eagles win - stop cursing our players!!!
...and see, they should have taken Xavier with them!

Damn it, Bailey Williams is also a late in - I was hoping he'd be back next week, on the bubble - a perfect downgrade mid/def DPP.
Tom Cole in - seems like a good kid, but I'd still rather they gave Xavier more game time now that he's fit again.

F@#$%ng Lachie F@#$%ng Hunter. I blame it on you @eagle_eyed for both the Eagles and the Prospectors.
I'm still spewing that he did two-thirds of bugger-all for me for two seasons, so I drop him, and now he comes good.

@JPK Mate, I'm with you. Badly wanted a West Coast win. With Gov a late out I'm little chance of winning the cup anyway so I end up with 2 losses this weekend; at least you get bragging rights! I've traded out Kerridge & Docherty who did sweet FA for me and now they're both killing it!

Seeing as 50% of your team played in that game, yeah, you might be right.
I still think the Eagles can get the 16 wins required for a top four spot this season, and once you're there its a high probability of a prelim final, and from that point you're nearly there!

Its been a tight one in Coolgardie, but it looks like the visitors have had the win, by 14.5 points. Scores are still to be confirmed, although the early indications are that even a man down, against half a man, the Gropers have beaten the Prospectors 1099 / 15 / 73.3 to 1084.5 / 15 / 72.3
A full write-up will follow, once the weather clears, and the SC systems can be believed!!!

Early updates filtering across the Indian Ocean have the Bulls accounting for the Buffaloes 1194 to 1054 with Rockliff still being held back from travelling home after accusations of visting some local witch doctors before the game

Nuytsland Vikings 1,270 def Hughenden Prairie Dogs 1,209

In a must win game for both teams to keep in touch with the 8 saw the Vikings overrun a determined Prairie Dogs.

The Prairie Dogs led for most of the day but it was the brilliance of young gun Matt Crouch (132) who dragged his team over the line with 36 touches, as the late call up he showed why he should be in the side each week. The visitors must have called on Valhalla as they had contributors all over the ground which ultimately pushed them to a win with only 3 other players hitting the ton:- T. Mitchell (131), Rampe (108) and Robinson (103).

Hughenden’s usual brigade contributed well:- Kerridge (126), Ward (125), Shiel (115), Jack (103) & Hawkins (103) but again it was the Ruck that let them down. Crozier battled hard against Grundy but was unable to get his hand on it often enough to give his teammates first use.

In the end Nuytsland deserved the win and take one step closer to making the 8, Hughenden have some hard decisions to make around team structure and some players future if they want to make the 8.

    BAFFU Awards
    3 Matt Crouch (132)
    2 Tom Mitchell (131)
    1 Sam Kerridge(126)

What a barnburner it was out in Ararat. Last year's premiers have stormed home by 3 points to win 1336 to 1333. It took several Barracudas smashing their season average to pull off the away win but it was quite well deserved. Bontempelli (+46 on avg), Weitering (+48 on avg) and Guthrie (+11 on avg) led from the front which more than offset the poor games by Everitt and Sutcliffe.
For the home team it was a case of what should've been, with Wells and Vince the only two players flying the flag. Rich, Treloar, Gibbs and Parish will come under heavy scrutiny with the match committee, however one would suspect the lack of warm bodies able to take the field may render their positions in the team safe for the short term.

Yep, its been confirmed, that the Prospectors season is going down the toilet! A narrow loss to our Nugget Cup rivals in the goldfields derby has just reinforced this. The fact that it was a terribly low-scoring game made it an even lesser spectacle for the home-side fans to watch.

For the Prospectors, top scorers were Petrie (106), Kennedy (101), and Westhoff (100), while Miller (102) was in the magoos! This was countered by Ellis not playing, and taking 22.5 points from Griffin in defence. Making matters worse, not a single defender scored more than 62 points, while Redpath, Hutchings, and Dickson were also below average (seems I copped all the below average players from that game!).

The visiting Sandgropers were lead by ex-Prospector Hunter (124) and Prestia (114), although no-one else topped the ton! With McGovern out, the defence was stretched, and it showed, with no-one breaking 70 points (for a low scoring game, the defenders were terrible - the irony!). When it came down to the crunch, Charlie Cameron needed 51 points to give the visitors the win, and @eagle_eyed and I were messaging each-other back and forth, following his live scores (not on the official SC site, which completely crashed because of a little rain - I can't understand how some storms in Queensland and New South Wales can effect a couple of Western Australians watching a Victorian-made sport that was being played in South Australia!!!), until my final comment around the half-way mark of the final quarter: 53... S.O.B. For some reason he didn't respond after that!!! It must have been the bad weather that caused his signal to drop out!

For anyone wanting an example of a close game of footy, follow this one - for anyone wanting a good game of footy, look elsewhere! All-in-all it was terrible - even looking at the rucks, where the Gropers' Campbell (73) pipped the Prospectors' Martin (69) in the giant tap, in a below average display from both men. Absolutely terrible really....

    Votes:
    3 - Lachie Hunter - Coolgardie Southern Cross - 124
    2 - Dion Prestia - Southern Cross - 114
    1 - Drew Petrie - Coolgardie - 106

    Giant Tap:
Tom Campbell (Southern Cross, 73) defeated Stefan Martin (Coolgardie, 69).

Next up sees the Prospectors head to Groote Eylandt to take on the fishes, while the 'Gropers are back at home taking on the Buffaloes from Serengeti.

Sorry for the super late wrap @Tomster work has been smashing me.

The Bunyips hosted the travelling Grenades with both teams players scoring below their averages with the exception of a few.
The homeside welcomed the inaugural Big Tap winner, Sauce Jacobs, back into some form (150) after a serious lacklustre start to 2016. The other two greatest disappointments also decided to start scoring this week (Ballantyne 93 and Mayne 96) to help the homeside get the win. A couple great scores with Seedsman 101 scoring very well in Defence and Lachie Neale busting out a 138 in the middle.

    Final score
    Bunyips 1318 - Grenades 1025

    BOG - Jacobs - 3
    Neale - 2
    Pendles - 1

Korumburra Blowflys 910 lost to Eden Whalers 1471

Another week another smashing for the Blowflys. This time a 561 point annihilation at the hands of the Whalers. Eden rolled into town and were ruthless in their destruction of an undermanned and pathetic KB.

Midfield dominance was the story of the day led up top by Leuenberger (109) in his best game of the season so far. He dominated from the opening bounce spoon feeding his midfielders Ed Curnow (141) Anthony Miles (115) and Nathan Jones (111). The ageless speed machine Boomer Harvey (127) was everywhere in the forward half and only outshone by big Josh Jenkins (171) kicking a big bag of D's.

For the hapless home side, Captain Rory Sloane (139) battled manfully like the warrior he is, Corey Enright (103) was solid in the face of the onslaught down back and Paul Puopolo (104) was a lone hand in the forward half. Sam Wright gets added to the lengthy injury list after a nasty ankle roll. Meanwhile, the unfortunately welcome return of the big Trav the meathead left the Blowfly attack looking more impotent than ever.

Eden will now look to continue their march up the ladder into finals contention after a big percentage boosting win while Korumburra can't wait for the mid season break and the management are strongly considering a franchise rebuild...

    BAFFU
    3 - Josh Jenkins 171 (EW)
    2 - Ed Curnow 141 (EW)
    1 - Rory Sloane 139 (KB)

Banchang 1224 def King Island 1173

Sometimes it takes adversity to bring a group together. This week the Barcrawlers travelled a man down from sunny Thailand to the frosty conditions of Bass Strait. Having lost 3 on the trot and hit hard by injury, they had little reason to be hopeful against the in form, high scoring Monarchs. But skipper Selwood decided the time had come to get their season back on track. Leading from the front with a huge 150 he got the visitors out to an early lead and with good support from Walters up forward and Suckling and Tuohy down back it was enough for them to hold on and return to the winners list.

For the Monarchs the season is becoming a rollercoaster ride mainly due to the inconsistency of the forwards. Capable of massive scores when they fire, they are beatable by anyone when they don't. Tex fought hard for the home side, Henderson continues to battle well out of position and Dal Santo's return to form is encouraging but 6 scores under 60 suggests they aren't playing as a team.
