The fact that Jarryd Lyons was on the short list to get a run as a forward is hilarious. Guy couldn't get out of a green vest last year, and still managed to get dropped for a couple this year (both of which the Crows lost).

Nick Roo's injury concerns might open up a spot for Lids up forward. The midfield is pretty handy.

Oh definitely - though I wonder how close the sample team might be to the actual team!

OK folks, time to start team selection conversation in earnest. I haven't checked the injuries for the weekend yet but I would be putting Lids in for Riewoldt, and moving Boomer onto the bench

Bandit, thanks for all your work in this and the "others" thread.

Dayne Zorko is listed above as a midfielder, he is also eligible to be selected as a forward.

Anyone open to Jack Steven getting a run in the midfield or on the bench. He is in form at the moment.

I also agree Zorko could go forward, perhaps instead of deledio?

Saints have Geelong and Gold Coast, Brisbane have West Coast and Richmond, Richmond have Brisbane and Port.

Just offering that up as some more input, don't really have an opinion!

I reckon Parker has been in poor form lately... Cotchin/Steven I reckon would do a better job on recent form

Midfielders –updated averages for the original top 10 after Round 12

Scott Pendlebury - Cradle Mountain Devils 120.1
Dayne Zorko - Cradle Mountain Devils 113.3 (also eligible to be selected as a forward)
Trent Cotchin - Mt Beauty Uglies 111.2
Jack Steven - Gariwerd Cockatoos 110.3
    Josh P. Kennedy - Nunawading Nuffas 108.7
Steele Sidebottom - Mt Beauty Uglies 108.0
Luke PARKER - Venus Bay Vultures 107.7
Stephen Coniglio - Darraweit Guim Dirigibles 106.9
Rory Sloane - Wineglass Bay Packers 106.8
Zac Merrett - Charlie's Opening Spelunkers 103.8 (also eligible to be selected as a forward)

I would select the first four names above in the Vic/Tas team with Pendlebury, Cotchin and Steven as the first three midfielders and Zorko in the forward line. The fourth midfielder and any midfielders on the interchange are tougher to decide on. As Fitzy mentioned Parker’s form has fallen away recently – he is averaging is 77.7 for his last three games so I wouldn’t pick him in the 15.

Lids usually goes well in tigers wins and they have a good chance of beating at least Brisbane. I still reckon we've gotta have Zorko forward to allow us to have an extra mid from that list of enticing mids. theres a few mids who are missing out who would be better than Gunstan, Reiwoldt et al

I agree with Fitzy too, about Parker. ever since i bit the bullet and brought him into my team he has been stinking it up.

How about Jack Steven in for Parker, and Coniglio/or/Sloane in for Zorko.
Zorko forward in place of Gunstan, and Lids in place of Reiwoldt as Bandit suggested.

Agree with that Ant. Lids has found some solid form of late and Richmond have a couple of winnable games in the bye rounds where he could do well.

Jack Steven is StKilda's best player right now.

Who has the best draw of Sloane and Coniglio?

Up forward ... Zorko Merrett Martin Lids? Gunston or Harvey as the emergency?

Think the back four and the ruck are pretty settled.
