    For the average footy fan, fantasty football is great fun and an exciting way to create some healthy competition among friends during the footy season.

    However, the biggest drawback is the time consuming nature of fantasy.

    It requires several hours each week to perfect your team and research who is in form or out injured and this is for the entire season.

    However, daily fantasy platform, Draftstars, combines the excitement of fantasy, without the frustration a season long commitment.

    Draftstars pits individual players against each other and you only have to pick a hand full of players and contestants can win real cash prizes every single week, with over $100k in cash won each week on the platform.

    To get started in Draftstars, you can enter for free to play free games, or deposit as little as $10.

    Contestants can choose to play games with a salary or salary cap free contests, called Turbo contests and contests can either be single games or span across multiple games.

    To draft your side can either select nine players (salary) or six players (turbo) to play a game, rather than needing to choose an entire squad of players. [​IMG]

    The scoring system is outlined above and it is the same as AFL Fantasy, so it is easy to pick up.

    It is easy to keep track of your performance, with scores come through within a minute of every disposal.

      Now, from a personal front, I've been playing Draftstars this year, I'm sure many of you have been also and it has been heating up.

      The $50k guarantee comps that they are running are massive. They're really giving it a crack to become the top dog in daily fantasy. And of course, the winner in that early days is us the punter, as they are paying out well more than they are taking in.

      That said, the way it's been growing, I wouldn't be suprised to see 6 figure payouts by the end of the year- which is a fricking massive carrot to dangle in front of all that accumulated fantasy knowledge.

      And on that note, if anyone is interested in getting together some kind of syndicate styled betting club type dealeo, I would love to start the discussion on that also! :D

      Been playing the last couple of weeks and managed to basically bubble (finish just outside the money) the 50k twice. I like the turbo format too where u pick 6 players. That being said I am actually down haha

      Ouch! I know the feeling! :D

      The turbos are pretty interesting though, but feel like a bit more of a crap shoot. But still, feels better than the classic "Here's unlimited salary, good luck" style I reckon.

      I had a go at this over the weekend.

      Didn't mind it and it was very easy to follow.

      I am $20 lighter in the pocket though! but I did this instead of betting on the footy so evens out I guess.

      To me these daily fantasy games appeal as something I might do once in a blue moon if I am at a pub when a game is on.
      If I went to the Trots or Greyhounds I would have some bets for the events on at the time. However those are rare times I do not have an interest.in greyhounds or trots any other time. I can see any of these daily fantasy games like this, Moneyball or Coachkings appealing to some type of people. I follow the footy in general so do not need to get a bet on to have an interest in a game. However with greyhounds or horses I pay no interest unless I have a bet. This might appeal to some people that do not follow football normally and they watch simply to follow some players they invested some coin in for that game on tv.

      Their selling point is for people that do not want to play a season fantasy football game.
      So it is kind of opposite to why I play fantasy football. I actually enjoy simulating the real ups and downs of managing a club both from round to round and season to season and even developing a list over time. A game that is just for the day or round does not fit why I play fantasy football. There is nothing realistic of a team of 18 on field to pick or anything from the little I seen of these games advertised. Prices are also nothing like real football player prices.
      Has little to do with aussie rules football when look beyond the adds.

      It is interesting though, just to see how they market these things and try to get people into them to make coin off.
