Ladies and Gentlemen, Boys and Girls,
Step right up and witness the culmination of a years' hard work - all the stress and anguish of team selections, all the mad scrambling to meet lockout, all the waiting for the SC site to update the scores, and all the excitement of a good hard game each week (except for rounds 13-15 where we get some silly byes added in just to frustrate everyone) - here we are at the 2016 ORFFU Finals Series.

The ladder at the end of the regular season is as follows:
    1 - Ararat Armadillos - @insider
    2 - Groote Eylandt Barracudas - @YAD69
    3 - Blanchetown Bunyips - @martyg
    4 - King Island Monarchs - @Tylo
    5 - Nuytsland Vikings - @bryzza
    6 - Pearcedale Panthers - @TigersTooTough
    7 - Banchang Barcrawlers - @choppers
    8 - Eden Whalers - @HOLKY

As per the finals structure, in round one, the top placed team will play the eighth placed team, second will play seventh, third will play sixth, and fourth will play fifth.
In round two, the winner of 1-8 will play the winner of 4-5, while the winner of 2-7 will play the winner of 3-6.
In the third round, the grand final, the two remaining winners will face off for supreme glory a "keyboard champion" of the Fantasy Football world of ORFFU.

To commence the 2016 finals we will have:
    1. The Ararat Armadillos hosting the Eden Whalers (AA-EW)
    2. The Groote Eylandt Barracudas hosting the Banchang Barcrawlers (GEB-BB).
    3. The Blanchetown Bunyips hosting the Pearcedale Panthers (BBU-PEP).
    4. The King Island Monarchs hosting the Nuytsland Vikings (KIM-NV).

Good luck to all teams competing for the 2016 Premiership.

@walesy Are you able to update Round 21 of TSLeagues to reflect these matchups, please?

RE: Selecting finals opponents as opposed to having "structured" or "designated" finals opponents - its written in the 2016 ORFFU rules under section 3.

    (b) In the first week the finals structure will be 1 v 8, 2 v 7, 3 v 6, 4 v 5.
    (c) In the second week of the finals, the four winners from the previous weeks finals will playoff in seeded matches, the winner of 1st v 8th will play the winner of 4th v 5th and the winner of 2nd v 7th will play the winner of 3rd v 6th.

i dont recall the change either. maybe something to look at next year.... as it stands, zero incentive to finish top four as all you get is a shithouse draft pick... no double chance?!?!? shouldve tanked. lol

Rampe Birchall Biggs Roberton ( Mayes )
TMitchell Sheuy Viney Menegola ( Miles )
    Grundy
Greene Robinson Petracca Heeney ( Young )
    Ross MCrouch ( Picken )

Big call with out of form Miles making way for Menegola, could it be a stroke of genius or a straight out of finals

Big test this week again for the Bunyips versus @TigersTooTough and the Panthers. Again we will be without Big Sauce and no back up ruckman. Maybe getting rid of Brooksby (who is in this week) could be a season killer for the Yips. Anyhow on with the team:

DEF: Laird, Thompson, Sheridan, Geary (Atley)
MID: Mitchell, Gray, Pendles, Ziebell (Pearce)
    RUC: Whitfield
FWD: Mayne, Brown, Ballantyne, Varcoe (McCarthy)
    INT: Armitage, Kelly (Lambert)

    LET'S GO!!!!

T MCDonald rich cutler Tomlinson (saad)
    Treloar Steven Vince smith
    Gawn
    Wells Dahl Wingard Taylor (Duggan)
    Gibbs parish (hallahan)

...... Obviously didn't save it late enough. Would've put in saad for Tomlinson. Edwards for Taylor. Hallahan for parish and some other prick for emergency. Not to worry. As I said, best of luck @HOLKY my man! Hope you come from the clouds and win the whole thing!
