Official Press release from Coolgardie: Drew Petrie is considered too old and too slow and although he's been a champion at the club, the Prospectors have decided to unceremoniously dump him, and just leave him to rot on the curb. (With great thanks to B Scott and J Brayshaw of the North Melbourne Football Club for penning these kind words)
Petrie and Bugg aren't on the ORFFU Free Agents List yet. Don't forget people, if you list someone here as being de-listed, you also have to remove that player from your team in tsLeagues.
Troy Chaplin has decided to hang up the boots, it was good of him to wait until just after the MSD. He was run out of town with little fan fare or thanks from the club.
what did the mandatory end up being? yes, i admit im lazy and cant be bothered trawling through other threads. someone tell me how many i have to delist so i can go back to having my first world problems
For the start of the 2017 season, all team list sizes will be increased from 26 to 28 players. A mini-draft after the 2017 PSD will be used to increase list sizes. Mandatory list reductions will be introduced, so that all coaches have a minimum number of picks in the PSD's. The minimum number of PSD picks will be four (4), meaning that no team can have more than 24 players on their list prior to the PSD commencing (relevant for 2018 onwards). Trading, delisting, and retirements from AFL clubs are all included in the pre-PSD list reduction, its only important the minimum number of picks.
Not sure if we're at cross purposes here but, as I read the Rules posted above, you can only have a max of 24 players on your list before this year's PSD. So we need to either trade or de-list a minimum of 2 players from our squads of 26. In 2018, we will have 28 players on our lists, and we need to have only 24 on our list prior to the 2018 PSD, so a minimum trade or de-listment of 4 players will be necessary.
May need to get @JPK to explain again. I thought the equalisation measure for this season was the back to back mini draft picks and we had to take a minimum of four players in 2018. I've been wrong once before...could this be twice?
That's probably the way to go as I thought we needed to take a min of 4 picks this year. 2 in the Mini draft and a min of 2 in the PSD........ @JPK Help!
the way @JPK explained was confusing I read it mandatory delisitng for 2018 of 4 players mini draft 2017 for 2 extra players taken back to back
Agree, bryzza. Having read it again, I can see how we can come to different results...we need the head honcho to spell it out for us....
Cool; maybe I can stand by my record of only ever being wrong once! I'm sure my wife would disagree though.
Wow, you take the night off and everyone gets confused. The intent was that the 2017 PSD occurs as it always has (I could have sworn that I wrote those exact words somewhere - fvck it, I'll swear anyway!). Immediately following the 2017 PSD there will be the minidraft, which we agreed would be the same order as the PSD, with each team having consecutive picks, to get all teams to 28 players. From the 2018 PSD onwards we'll have a minimum of 4 picks each in the PSD's. All MSD's will occur as they currently do. Is there anyone who is still confused? Is there anyone who disagrees? @insider no minimum delist requirements for this summer, so you can go back to sleep! @eagle_eyed I'm sure you're wrong about something. Would you like us to get your wife to confirm this? @choppers great copy-paste job mate - thanks. Saves me looking for my own words! @bryzza are you less or more confused now? I can be really good that way. I'll be running for politics in a few years time if anyone wants to vote for me, on a platform of giving 100% of the people 100% of what they want, 100% of the time. It can't fail!
