Here be where Orcshuns hang out.. 4(e) An “Auction thread” will be posted during the trade periods prior to drafts. Coaches may post a player or players or draft pick or picks or any combination of these as a package to auction in this thread. All players or picks to be auctioned should be listed with a closing day/time, and they cannot be withdrawn before that time. No player or pick being auctioned should be the subject of private trade negotiations nor used as part of a bid in another auction, until the auction of that player or pick has reached it's conclusion/closing time, with or without a sale. The initial posting of a reserve is optional and the reserve is not reached on any auction until the seller says so. Once a bid is tabled the bid is live until rejected OR deemed beaten by the person conducting the auction, it cannot be materially altered once tabled. No bid can be conditional on outcomes not directly related to the auction at hand. Once a reserve has been reached the seller has the option to adjust the auction length, but to no less than 48 hours, or the end of the trade period, whichever is the lesser. As soon as practicable after receiving multiple bids on an auction the seller should indicate whom is in front, any reasoning is optional. If reserve has been met, the winning bid must result in a trade, which is final and irreversible unless vetoed as per 4(f) or via a subsequent mutually agreed trade between the parties (which would also be subject to a veto period). Available for Auction Todd Goldstein (28) Ruc North Melbourne 2016 21 games avg. 108.14 Wanted: A good first round pick and a proven scorer, or two well proven scorers (only get one ruck playing so this is a potential dream trade) Make any offers! technically, this isnt the trade period prior to a draft, which is why an auction thread was never set up. and also why I set up a vote to change the rules. the vote was in favour of changing the rules to allow an auction thread to be set up in any trade period, but I still felt we shouldnt for this one because the rule had only just been changed in the middle of the trade period.... Anyways, youve gone and set it up and I dont really care if there are no objections. If anyone does object, I suggest we cancel the thread and wait til next trade period.
All for whatever best for the game! Just noticed this thread existed and heard through the grapevine a few others were on the table.
Yeah sorry Boss, I figured the vote had carried in favour of your suggestion so it was henceforth...gospel. Oh and I was getting bored. Had been a good 12 hours or so since I had completed a trade.
all ok here. I was just erring on the safe side for my part, but im more than happy with the thread being set up by someone else As stated before, im happy to run with it unless someone objects...
that draft pick is in the right direction, however vandenberg dropped off this year with the inclusion of c. oliver and a few others, i feel like he wont improve enough this coming seasons (supercoach points) So i'll have to turn down that one. Cheers!
no objections from me, if a trade period is on I can't see any reason Auctions can't be as they are effectively an open trade negotiation at this time of year their may not be the full 16 coaches all actively engaged so anyone auctioning off a player has to question whether they are receiving best offers, but given buyers must meet reserve no one is ofrced to lose out
@Dale Duivesteyn Is there any guide to what type of player/s you are after, age, position or average/potential average wise in the Goldstein auction ? Cheers TTH
Well the draft pick is good, but on top of that I'd like another good draft pick OR (Preferred option) a mid who is relatively young, and is a good scorer (80+)
*checks in regularly on 14th *questions eyesight with seemingly no bids *facepalms Feel free to enquire privately for the services of Billy H
OK, Maralinga is going to drop a bomb, Well a Jaeger bomb anyway. Maralinga Atoms Bids Jaeger O'meara and pick 66 for Todd Goldstein
As auctioneer you have the option to shorten the auction length to a minimum of 48 hrs. There is less than 48 hrs left til your original end time so no adjustments can be made.
