Similar here - Vickery and Brad Hill on the move. Hrovat likely to move too. Handy because all three are fringe players at the Blimps so hopefully with more or better opportunities they can step up.

I need a couple of improved forwards given Harvey's retirement. Maybe Vickery and Hrovat might provide that.

    So, who has Deledio?
Now he is coming to the giants and will probably struggle to get into our best 22 he should be going cheap :p

Given that would probably mean a giants flag, I concur :p

I reckon they'll be hard to beat with Lids in the team. And their younger guys all with an extra years experience (including finals) and their older guys not too old yet. This is probably their best chance.

Here is three years' data from which I invite you to extrapolate the number of games and average for 2017:
    2014 18 102.9
    2015 17 112.8
    2016 11 95.0

Average may well be high Fizzy, but how many games will he play next season? Apologies for injecting reality into this thread.

Spot on @graeme even in Deledio's best season of 2012 when he averaged 117 he only had one score above 145. If Deledio averages 145 in 2017 with GWS it would almost certainly mean that he has played 1 or 2 games and missed the rest of the season due to injury.

Injury we can't control but we know he went through a thorough medical.
Stat wise, the key is, he wont get a tag

Lids is a proven matchwinner. Can turn a game single handedly.

Lids is and has been a star. But he has two years left at most. Maybe three if he is really lucky.

Not saying they won't be good years, but the injuries are starting to bite a bit for him. If GWS play him in a smart role (half forward I'd think, as Richmond were going to do in 2017) he'll serve the Giants well.

If he does play semi-permanent forward though, his SC scoring might suffer just a touch.

I'm sad to see him go, but it is the sort of bold decision that has been missing from Richmond for some time now. I think the kick in the arse that was season 2016 has gotten the club to screw its head on straight and make these decisions.

Prestia, Nankervis, probably Caddy (there's a coach down Lovely Banks way with a special interest in that one), plus pushing Vickery out the door so he can be overpaid somewhere else (and be retained on Darraweit's list). Not bad at all.

Knew you were joking @Fitzy about Deledio averaging 145. However after a few other people commented on Deledio's impending move to GWS I was interested to know how often he exceeded this score in his best season and I made a rushed post just before leaving for work this morning.

My prediction is that Deledio will play 17 home and away games next season and average 94 SC points.

How have the retirements to date and the AFL trades impacted on everyone's ORFFA team?

The Devils got the following three things they wanted which might have been a bit of karma after the suspensions of Hurley and Heppell in 2016:

    1. Stevie Johnson playing on in 2017 but only after the Devils gave him the green light to sell tickets to the Stevie J show at his discretion.
    2. Jack Steele receiving increased playing opportunities by being traded to the AFL club we wanted in St Kilda and
    3. Toby Nankervis receiving increased playing opportunities by being traded to the AFL club we wanted in Richmond.

@Len the Misfits have got their work cut out to win a premiership before GWS.

The Devils are currently engaged in a battle with the AFL team they were likened to - Gold Coast and my AFL team St Kilda to see which of the three teams wins a final first. Devils have got the closest so far, losing their only final in 2014.

At this stage, GWS look possible for 2017, the Misfits look improbable but you never know :)

    GOOD:
    Hill to Freo
    Vickery to Hawthorn
    Hrovat to North
Lyons to Gold Coast (Adelaide will regret that)
Hamling to Freo (means Adams will be the main KPB at the Dogs)
Hibberd to Melbourne (AMT locked as a first 18 starter)
    Carlisle to return

    NOT SO GOOD:
    Harvey being retired
    Cooney retiring
Barrett not being traded - though with Pickett, Steele and Ahern gone, it might end up good.
    Ceglar still injured
Not being able to convince the esteemed coach of the Devils to trade Mr Nankervis(!!!) Though that said - now he has been traded, the offer was far from adequate.

Three fringe players in Hill, Vickery and Hrovat should get more/better opportunities next season. Lyons might too. That fringe forwards might end up on the improve is a good thing given Harvey and Cooney going.

A slightly shallow forward line now looks a fair bit deeper.

Haven't really looked at knock-on effects but in direct trades Misfits almost unchanged, WHE to Collingwood will at least give him some AFL exposure

For Gariwerd, Lynden Dunn, James Stewart and Zach Tuohy all were traded. I think it will be good for all of them, but not sure about Tuohy.
Dunn and Stewart were due to be delisted, but not anymore. However i dont know who will be delisted in their stead.
