I would think that the above sentence in rule 4(e) would suggest that an auction bid would have to wait until veto period has passed, otherwise the bid is conditional upon the previous trade not being vetoed which is inconsistent with the rules as they currently stand.

I think for the sake of clarity we need to commit to only using assets that are valid before the auction ends. I am reverting back to the previous leading bid by @thokash

    The previous winning bid would.

I feel it's harsh to add in a rule mid trade period that knocks me out of the running. Changes my team structure for trades I've done with others if I'm ineligible to on trade pick 16 when there is nothing in the rules to say you can't on trade before veto period, especially when the trade for pick 16 should have no reason to be vetoed as its not a lopsided trade (happy for others to say otherwise).

Can we clarify officially as I can't complete other trades/auction bids before tonight's deadlines please.

Let's try again shall we. Hopefully no technicalities this time.

Bid for Wallis; instead of the debated pick 16, we will add in pick 19 and pick 67, as well as the second round MSD still

I reckon @Darran found it anyway, in 4e: No bid can be conditional on outcomes not directly related to the auction at hand

Also, I dont think anyone was trying to make up a new rule, it was just that there were different interpretations of the rules. It would have been up to the Board to resolve a difference of interpretation...

Definately open to misinterpretation. Just gonna have to hope new bid is sufficient. :)

No worries, sorry about the muck around. Not trying to be a complete pain just trying to keep it reasonably straightforward for future transactions!

    New leading bid.

Wow looks like I missed some action in here. Not sure if this will beat leematty's bid, but either way will probably be my final one

    Pick 26 & 74 and 1st round MSD

Not quite, just a preference on PSD position keeps @leematty1 in the lead

    Auction ends at 9pm

One of the things about rules is they are useless, infuriating and generally negative in impact unless the spirit of the rule is held to be more important than the definition.

The spirit of the veto rule is that exists to prevent deliberate collusion, it is not there to protect the stupid from themselves.

It would be reasonably clear to anyone that the trade involving pick 16 had as much chance of being veto'd as I do of being prime minister.
