So. Darcy Cameron's cards are obviously marked. No Naismith and no Tippett, and he can't even make it as an emergency?!

apparently Cameron hurt his shoulder in the NEAFL last week

Which defender are people dropping for Newman?

It kinda has to be Stewart for me, but im reluctant.

@anthak - Hibberd/Stewart or even a midfielder such as Florent with Hibberd moving to M11.

I will see who makes the 22 and then decide, with only Barrett/Stewart playing Sunday and expecting Barrett to play after a 70 plus last week.

      Ok.
Yeah, its out of Stewart, Tuohy, Marchbank, O'Meara, Tarranto for me, but Stewart seems the best option at this stage imo. I'll wait for teams too.

I think JOM can improve and still make some coin.

Just looking at my team there are 2 ways to get newman, i can punt Stewart or punt Jaeger by moving Adams to the midfield but would leave my backline rather thin. What are peoples thoughts on Hayward JS? thinking straight swap for Pickett???

Gawn -> Nankervis with the plan to upgrade a fwd rookie back to Gawn later in the year swing Nank as a fwd keeper. (He's currently the top ranked forward which I didn't realise)
      Hibberd -> Newman

Stewart, JOM or Taranto out of that lot. Stewart would be well ahead out of those 3 if cash is not an immediate imperative.

I know its sideways but would love to hear people's thoughts on trading JOM to Swallow this week

It's a waste of a trade imo. You started with JOM for a reason. If that reason was sound at the time, stick with it. :thumbsu:

Yeah the more I think about it choppers the more I tend to agree and it's not like Swallow is the safest pick out there regardless of a couple of good early scores

It's sideways ! Swallow would be good to have but is it better to bring in a Rookie instead and look to move JOM on during upgrade/downgrade season whereas Swallow would most likely hang around your team until final upgrades.

I am looking to go Taranto ==> Swallow (and keep JOM) if Preuss plays well on Friday but for the time being it gives me Swallow/JOM/SPP M6-M8 which means I most likely need to concentrate on Forward and Defensive upgrades early on and I am yet to identify players I want there.

My other option is JOM/Gawn ==> Nank, depending on whether I play Nank as F4 or R2, at R2 I also consider the Gawn ==> Witts, Spencer, Grundy, Martin options

It's an awkward week with rookies other than Newman, no doubt one of Hayward, Fox, Broomhead etc ends up as an inspired choice but I have yet to see a compelling argument for any of them and they may not earn much more than the rookies they replace unless the likes of Florent, Pickett and others get dropped for Round 4 or 5.

Ok guys got a few options on my hands and looking for some advice. I currently have Gawn, omeara, and nana in my side and I'm able to do some shifty dpp trading to achieve a few options. Which one do you think is best and why? I'll also mention that in my leagues I've been unlucky and lost 2 games in a row with some decent scores so point matter a bit more than usual ATM.

Option 1 - swing nank into ruck, leaves forward very thin. Keeping omeara for now
      Out - Gawn, smith
      In - Dusty, Newman

Option 2 - same as above but bring in Murphy
      Out - Gawn, smith
      In - Murphy, Newman

Option 3 - Leave Newman and upgrade omeara to dusty, get witts in ruck and leave nank in forward line
      Out - Gawn, omeara
      In - witts, dusty

Option 4 - the long game. Get in witts and Newman, then dusty next week for omeara depending
      Out - Gawn, smith
      In - witts, Newman

      I'm leaning towards either 1 or 3.

      Hey sleepy,
I wouldn't go with any of those. Move Gawn to a premo ruck. Grundy Martin Mumford come to mind and bring Newman in for Smith and leave Nank in your Forward line. Martin has a Rd11 bye, Nank Rd12, andGrundy and Mumford Rd13. If you have Sandilands as your R2, then I'd go with Stef Martin. Leave Dusty til later.

If it helps, the "Dwallow is in doubt this week" stories have already fired up. I imagine that they'll fire up nearly every week!

Lot of risk there for the reward.

Yeah true dusty isn't going anywhere pricewise where he won't be during the year I suppose. So you're saying get your genuine R2 sorted. Def Grundy if I'm doing that, he get a bit of the ball around the ground. Stef Martin bit iffy for mine I think grundys upside is bigger.

points wise I'm not sure what would work better, brining on butler in the forward line and nank in the ruck with dustys score as well, or doing as you say and having nank up forward and omeara & Powell still on field.

Lol, and I thought 4 options was hard enough. Now I've got 5

I like Grundy as well. Currently going with the sandiwitts combo so will probably upgrade to him when the time is right. Also have Nank in forwards with Cameron R3 as my DPP.
